Well... These comments and the opening post is enough for me to give it a go. Thanks for the info I might stay entertained for while |

I enjoy reading reviews like this because it stops me from going through the downloads, learning the game, etc. To find out it is nothing but rubbish. It certainly sounds like they have a very bad community so thanks for the heads up. I will not even be trying this.

I tried this game... For quite a while and it was fun and it got maybe a tad confusing at different points. I mean I wanted to build a space station and had no idea where to start... So I gave up on that straight away. What bothered me the most... Was the fact that yeah although it's such an easy game to install and setup, as soon as I got on it I couldn't hit anything! Why? Laaaaaaaaaaaaag... On an under 30mb downloaded game. How is that even possible. Overall it's a good game... If you can put up with the lag. -Stimulated |

Oh dear.... I was simply scanning over the game list browsing the new games that were on... And then this. I agree this looks childish and I would not even bother to click the download link. Yeah fine it might be ok for a 6 year old but who let's a 6 year old on a PC.. Anyway rant over.. I'm sure the gameplay is smooth but other than that... Bleh? -Stimulated

Lol, no i'm not exactly rich at this time but I was wondering more about whether the FoM team are going to pull the plug or not |

I'm a little confused as to what is happening to FoM. All i've heard is that there is going to be a free trial and then i've seen that there is going to be a shut down... So what is actually going to happen to this game |

I accidently found this game while searching for another game in the MMORPG Game List and well I was impressed. I was kind of gutted as it was to be in developement for ages to come and so i'd forgotten about it ever since. What I did like about it is that it looks like some sort of survival effort. Every gun looks like a contraption of some sort then you have the dune buggies and random zombies... It's just different and that's what I like about it. |

Yes but to be fair EVE Online only does a free trial which means the vast majority on the game pays meaning more updates for them. Still I have hardly looked at EVE as Anarchy Online has seemed to of done a lot better in terms of grabbing my attention |

I had a 64mb Intel Graphics Controller in the past and that is possibly the worst you could have and I still managed to run AO smoothly |

Considering playing, May I have your opinions?
Rubi-Ka Lounge (General) « Anarchy Online 11/24/07 11:17:19 PM
I have played the game for quite a long time now, most definately over a year. I have been a fr00b the whole time as I do not believe in wasting money on one game every month but that is a personal opinion. Anarchy Online is most definately one of the best role playing games I have ever played and it is one of the very few Sci-Fi RPG's that allow you to play for free. The game has your standard 3D graphics but none that FunCom could ever really boast about but the gameplay is very good. You do not need a great chip set to play the game and it runs very smooth as lag is a rarity in the game. It has your standard camera views, 3rd Person, 1st Person, zooming in and out and rotating the camera. The breeds that are used in the game (Opifex, Solitus, Atrox and nanomage) are not just used to look good but also effect your skills in game so choosing the breed of your character to be, makes a big effect on your performance in game then there are the professions. There is a wide range of professions to choose from and depending on which profession you choose will effect how hard the game becomes and so will the way you play the game. Many people have asked "what is the best profession to start off with" and it has always been the Martial Artist or the Adventurer but it all comes down to personal opinion. When you have chosen breed, etc you will be pulled on to an island where you will learn the basics of the game. The best thing to do when you are at this part of the game is to ask questions on how you do this and how you do that as usualy when you get to the mainland many people seem very busy with what they are doing. The community is very friendly and there will be people around to help and answer any questions you may have. The fact about the game is that at the very start it's a non-stop learning curve and once you have got passed that the game becomes very fun to play. Even when you get those moments where you cant be bothered moving around the world, the experience never stops as you could bump in to a huge atrox that salutes you and you end up having this long conversation about something completely different to the game. As a whole: The game is exciting to play once you get passed the learning curve and once you get mixing with the community. Each proffesion is fun to use but it all depends on opinion, if your in to robotics choose the Engineer and build a robot. If your in to magic choose the nanotechnician and cast nano programs at enemies. The game is not graphically intense so if your looking for graphics this is probably not for you but if your all for the gameplay then go for it. |

I havn't played the game but I have been at a friends house and seen quite a bit of it and to be honest I found it quite poor. Every single building had the same shape and same dull look to it and yes fair enough the place has been taken over by hell but they could of still made it better and the constant sight of barrels filled with fire was enough to call the game repetitive. There are some aspects to the game that i'm sure will be good, like the multi-player but I cant see it being a huge hit |

I used to play the BETA and had a lot of fun doing it. I had actually gained a lot of money on that game and I was absolutely gutted when it changed to a pay-to-play but what was I to expect. I do think the game will end up like Anarchy Online though as they did the free trial thing and ended up with an immense amount of players on their servers and many of the "froob" players upgraded their accounts for the extras so FunCom raked the money in. |

I have attempted to sign up with this game many times. The problem is that it needs to send a verification code through your mobile phone so they can confirm the person and everytime I select United Kingdom no networks appear. So the game is directed at the states for the time being or so I believe. Does anyone actually have an idea when it will be up for the UK? |

5 reasons you should be playing MASS EFFECT from Flaregamer
Off-Topic Discussion « General Discussion 11/24/07 10:07:58 PM
I've thought about getting Mass Effect for while and I have heard many different views on the game already. Some have said it's too repetitive then others have said the fps/rpg side to the game is amazing, etc. The story line does seem good and the in-game videos look brilliant... My question is does the game keep you make you want to keep going back to play it? |
