Yeah, EvE Trailers are great. I love the action and what appears to be a user interface. But when I tried the game a few years ago, umm well lets just say its not like the trailers. :) But good wwork on the trailers those guys should get hired on anywhere!

I agree but it does not baffle me why they went 2 faction. The bean counters probably convinced them that it would be cheaper to produce and the benefits not so great, they were wrong.

However even with three factions RvR would be pointless as it really is not possible to score real victories. So when they say:

"This in turn feds the overarching goals you can attain for your realm."

I am really interested in knowing what goals they are talking about. Better loot for your character? As you really cannot score any persistant victories, just possibility to do some instances in the opposing sides city for some points and gear. You cant really occupy it or anything.

Yeah I agre with alot of the posters here as well. Its too easy for me and Im a casual gamer (7 hours a week about). Theres no strategy so far and the lack of meaningful PvP doesnt spice up the combat experience. Its a well polished amusement park though. Just Im looking for somehting more engaging. Have fun in rift, heres hoping they ramp up the world PvP.

Yep, its not a sandbox imo. Its a quest grind in the month I played. Not much else to do. And even in that quest grind I didnt feel I was adding to my faction or a greater cause or war. In fact I dont think the factions were very well integrated - I mean they dont really matter.

I guess I was expecting territorial war among the factions over gas or some other resource. Maybe its end game or something.

ummmm thats the change?  They have more than one person dedicated to Monster play?  Sorry this doesnt warrant another chance for me.  Loved the idea of playing as the monsters poor implementation and zero development.

Ummm how is Rift like DAoC? I dont see the simliarity in any area from graphics to gameplay to RvR to Housing. Compare Rift to WoW; it makes more sense in graphics, quests and instance battle PvE and PvP.

To get away from, as best as possible, pyschopathic behavior and the constant stream of immaturity that plagues MMOs these days.

Under appreciated?  This article made no sense to me except that it was a half arsed attempt at plugging a game in development.

AoC is a hard and brutal land that is not covered with roses and school girl giggles.  Open world PvP is savage and relentless, though the PvP mini's are quite limited and slow to start.
The lore is well known, and aptly followed, so it is a brutal and barbaric game that exploits the carnal pleasures of lust and dismemberment, and most of the modern age girly-boys can't handle it.

I cant remember). All the loading screens, instancing and disjointed game world. It all adds up to a very lackluster experience, regardless of the pretty GFX.
I guess that AoC is a living proof that awesome GFX is not enough to make a good and worthwhile MMORPG.

I had the same experience. I felt in PvP there was very few options besides DPS. and the crafting was useless.

Shallow gameplay is to be expected. Conglomeration of action and mmorpg causing both types of fans frustration is to be expected. Let's see what they do by month 3. Sorry for folks that are testing it out for us - but we thank you.

Been there and done that boring two faction system that breaks lore. The IP could se so much more in terms of war strategy. Wish all their fans the best. Who knows maybe they will really hit a homerun with everything else about their game (combat, graphics, UI, storyline, replayability, crafting, etc.)

Did LotROnline change their game? Add new content? Fix or improve Monster Play?

Charging more money or offering different payment options to confuse the masses will not bring me back to a boring game.

Ahhhh.... thanks Massively for an article and poll that made me realize the MMORPG has reached rock bottom for value and and at the same time soaring to new heights in false advertising and paper thin content. I appreciate your work for us all. Yeah TCU!
