Hey :) Welcome back! I just came back a couple days ago. Having a great time glad to see the servers are still populated!!

Everquest is not dead. I actually just uninstalled AOC and installed EQ1 a couple days ago. AOC is a great game, but I'm having a blast starting out fresh in EQ1 right now.

    Everquest is more of a "virtual world" than like WoW or AOC. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but if you like adventuring you'll have a great time. 

    By the way... I've played: UO, Vanguard, WoW, COH, FFXI,Lineage,LineageII, Shadowbane, AnarchyOnline, SWG,Tabula Rasa, Saga of Ryzom, Guild Wars, and the Everquest II.

    My highest level in EQ1 is only level 50ish so I ended up rerolling and starting fresh. It only took about 8 hours /played to get to level 20 for me, had lots of friendly people give me items, and ran in to some newbies.

    I checked a few different servers, and stromm seems to have the highest population, but it's hard to tell. The world is so huge people are all over the place. If you do a /who for  levels 1-2, 3-4, 5,-6, etc... you'll see that there's actually A LOT of active eqplayers. I was surprised to find that there's actually MUCH more people on the Everquest One servers then even the most populated EQ2 servers (like nagafen/Antonius Bayle). I see fewer people running around in EQ2 than in EQ1.

    Give it a go! You should try age of conan at some point though too, it's a nice game. I'll be in EQ for a while now, though. Im addicted already :(

So,

I've been playing Age of Conan. It's a great game; awesome graphics, cool & innovative combat, quests, etc...

BUT...*drumroll*... for some reason I decided to quit and reactivate my Everquest account!

That's EverQuest ONE, mind you! 

Unlike many, Everquest was NOT my first massively multiplayer experience. I was always a huge PVP-monger and was playing Ultima Online when the EQnerds were doin' they thang in Norrath back in 99'.   The crazy thing is, as beautiful as AOC is, i've been having more fun with that 10 year old hunk of broken polygons, which is EQ! I haven't even been Pvping! I'm on a BLUEBIE server! What's happening to me?? Must....update....patch........

Any other EQers been back in norrath lately?

Ugh... my hardware has gone completely to waste. Oh well, I guess I can take Crysis breaks in between EQ1 sessions....
