I can't understand how character models are that ugly; they are uglier than those in Star Trek Online (which uses the same engine as far as I know), and that game was launched a few years ago.

 And am I the only one annoyed that you can't zoom in and out at will, unless you enter 'Inspect mode'? I find it rather ridiculous, but I guess I always took the ability to zoom as granted. Why some people try to 'reinvent the wheel' is beyond me.

The main quest dialog calls you the hero every few minutes. The NPCs in the cut scenes address you as hero. "Oh look, there's the hero!". Ok, so it's instance heroism, so what? Everyone does the same "heroic" quests.

Personally, I got tired of the bloat.

 I think he has a point.

 Even though Trahearne seems to take over the central role at some point, you are still in fact the one who does all the work and get all the praise. Trahearne may be the leader, but you are still the one who takes all the decisions. And he is nowhere to be found when you take down Zhaitan.

 The thing that makes the least sense to me however, is how all of a sudden you helped bring back Destiny's Edge together and everyone thanks you again. Leaving aside the fact that you are somewhat forced to do dungeons if you want to know more about Destiny's Edge (and even then, you are still left with more questions than answers), their role throughout the storyline is minimal. Therefore, them suddenly appearing for the last storyline quest makes it a bit inconsistent.

  It's funny, but most of the people I've spoken to are having a blast with RoR. Sure, would have been cool to have the new instances at launch, but it's a surprisingly good expansion so far. The open tapping, mounted combat, on the fly quest acquisition (and the sheer amount of quests - good diversity of quests as well), all these contribute to make it a very enjoyable experience. I've only played RoI at launch, I wasn't around when MoM or SoM launched, but that thing bored me so much I quit the game for a few months.

  Of course, in the end it's a matter of preference, but I would certainly not call it the worst expansion ever.

Correction: mounted combat is available for free as well. So yes, you do have to pay 40$ for a quest pack. At least RoI had some nice stuff that in the end made it worthwhile to preorder it (even though I was very disappointed at first). I don't see myselft buying this.

Is this available for the NA version only? I assume it is, but I just want confirmation.

 I've heard a lot of good things about the game, so this is great news. But I suspect the business model will follow that of EQ2, in which case I'm not that interested.

Same problem here, seems my beta account is no more. Forums are in maintenance as well so I can't ask there either.

I wouldn't be surprised if they don't launch it with all the content the US version has. I was really interested when they first announced the EU version, but with the upcoming games and F2P conversions (Age of Conan, and most likely Fallen Earth too) I don't know how long will this last on my harddisk. If it makes it there.

Well, it is nice that you answered (I noticed you doing that on massively.com as well), but it's still not clear what's your stance on renting guns for both free and premium accounts. Any chance you can provide more info on that? As in, are you discussing a change in the current model? Thanks in advance.

That's exactly how I feel and the reason I didn't play much so far despite being invited in closed beta a few weeks ago. The last thing I want to see when I log is that my weapon magically disappeared and now I have to grind just to get it back. And 15$ a month is hugely overpriced for what it offers, especially when you take into account that AAA MMORPGs cost that much and offer a lot more content (and polish too in most cases).

And what saddens me more is that the devs don't seem to care that much about these aspects, despite some negative feedback from the players.

Personal feelings don't count as facts or arguments in establishing why game A is superior to game B. And even if we did take your 3 points as valid ones, where's the revolution you mention in the thread title?

It seems there are low chances for me to get in the first CB being from Europe, but I'm looking forward to playing this nevertheless.
