You people can't eb serious judging games by their xfire ratings. Cmon it's not because in lotro and eve most ppl dont use xfire that these games are going down. Honestly xfire is one more of these kinda useless tools, never been in a guild where many ppl used it and most ppl never saw the point with xfire.

For first char dont play lore master, minstrel, or bruglar. They take soem time to get really efficient and discovering the game with them might be a bit more challenging.

Another peice of advice, for your profession, take the explorer, unless you become a really productive crafter this is the best proph to make money.

Gl with the game and get yourself a kin if you plan to subscribe.

Alien please gtfo, sure if you and you nolife ingame buddies play 17h a day friends play lotro you can beat a book pretty fast. But ever heard of side quests? deeds? crafting? If you hate lotro so much dou you rly need to come here and say stupid stuff? I mean please get a life, even playing minesweeper should be more fun than trolling a forum. Go tell some chuck norris jokes with you wow/aoc buddies playing your awesome content with your awesome toony graphics, being part of the very mature and respcetful wow/aoc community makes your very special we know. Some gamers dont think its a nice thing to spend a whole night to do one raid in order to potentially get a peice of set, and i understand them entierly.

Once again check how many people that play lotro go and troll other forums. You'll see one major advantage lotro has over wow/aoc.

<p>O and btw yeah war has a lot of lore, but considering lotro isnt just using the movies but also all of Tolkien's book, lotro lore is much more complex. To bad they didnt use all the languages that Tolkien created in the game.</p>

I did the exact same thing you are planing to do (the check agai noen year after) loved it and i bought the lifetime sub after 2 weeks of playing.

You HAVE to get into a helpfu kin though, because the First chapter of the story (prologue) has not very much players in it (being divided with 3 different prologues depending on race) but other wise the game right now make the realease version feel like an alpha version.

One thing worth talking about here is the outfit option, you might liek the way oen set look, but prefer some other armor, well no problem. Just put the good looking armor as an outfit and the armor hwich stats you like as armor.
The result is good stats and good looks.
Honestly pvmp right now isnt really as "professional" as what you might have experienced in eve or guild wars. But its a nice way of seeing pvp.

^ i Fully agree with you guys, when i first did the trial ( when trial first came out) this game felt liek it was already dying. Didnt see anyone weapons/ armors looked uninteresting.

But i bought the game ( coupons at a game store, didnt know what to buy). Started playing again, joined a kin and I really got into the game.

Even though i'm still lvl 19 I find the game really interesting, and it has the best communnity you can find in mmorpgs. Didnt encounter any scammers/ leetkids/ racists... yet.

Oh and if you want to have a character that's nto too hard to play I'd say go captain, but if you are looking for a char that's more desired in groups go minstrel or tank, but both of these are harder to play.
