[CLOSED]LF F2P game with either Full Open PVP or RvR PVP
LFGame « General Discussion 9/09/09 10:46:52 AM
You might try Shaiya for RvR, although I was never that fond of it, it apparently has some of the better RvR in F2P games. 2moons for open pvp, if you can put up with the gold spam and community. |

General: Five Infuriating MMOs
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 8/25/09 4:24:27 PM
I'm very surprised that Darkfall didn't make the list with their limited release junk, and their general abuse of their playerbase, AND their debacle with Eurogamer, AND their billing snafus. |

I've posted a new blog outlining the fallacies in Tasos' response to Eurogamer's review. Those interested can take a look here: www.mmorpg.com/blogs/Strayfe/052009/3762_The-Role-of-ReviewsThe-Great-Darkfall-Whinefest Even if you like Darkfall Online, and think it's the greatest game in the world, it is ridiculous to believe that Tasos is doing any good for Aventurine or the game. His is the worst possible image for a game and company trying to market a niche game. |

DF - the most horrific MMORPG I've ever had the pleasure of playing
General Discussion « Darkfall 3/19/09 1:00:52 PM
You people astonish me. Wait a week to buy the game, wait hours every time you want to log in. Hoo and hah everytime Tasos announces the same tired jubilee of crap that he's been spouting for the past 5 years. I think I've come to the conclusion that Tasos has managed to create a closed society of quadraplegic adolescents with brain tumors, who are fed intravenously by nourishment provided by a machine powered by revenue generated by Darkfall. That's the only explanation for the fervor held by some of you. Imagine how you felt if you saw the following scene on the street: A group of... oh, say a thousand people. They're lined up, single file, waiting hours, and in some cases, days for the opportunity to jam rusty nails into their retinas, while shouting out "HOLY SHIT, THIS FEELS GOOD!" Meanwhile, the executives of the rusty nail factory shout from the top of the Sears Tower about how everyone should feel privileged to have the opportunity to jam rusty nails in their retinas, and that the factory is working to improve the quality of the nails. Sane people would look at that scene in utter horror. Sane people with compassion in their hearts would likely make some attempt to rescue these poor, brainwashed victims from themselves. Instead, the victims try to convince sane people that jamming nails in your eyes feels so good, and that you simply aren't hardcore enough to jam nails in your eyes and experience the pleasure. Meanwhile, nearby, men shoot themselves in the foot and yell out to nearby onlookers. "HOLY SHIT, THIS FEELS GOOD!" These people then attempt to convince people to let TasosCorp shoot them. When they refuse, these angry people rant about "HOW DO YOU KNOW IT HURTS IF YOU'VE NEVER BEEN SHOT?" The answer, which all Darkfall Fanbots seem to lack, is common sense. It does not take first-hand experience, or the brainpower of a nuclear physicist to observe the launch debacle perpetuated by Aventurine, and come to the conclusion that Darkfall is an unmitigated disaster, whose best feature is the 'radar' system, which allows all sane individuals to point out fucktarded Darkfall Fanbots on forums for miles around. I thank Tasos, from the bottom of my heart, for placing a neon sign above the heads of Fanbots, which happily reads, "This sign is smarter than I am."

The AMD processor "clock interrupt" blue screen of death error? That being the reason I quit shortly after the game was released, since I couldn't play. Anyone with a quad core AMD processor who can play this game smoothly with no crashes? |
|
|
I tried it. The game performance is the biggest concern. On a Quad Core Q6800Xtreme, with 4GB of RAM and an 8800GTX, I barely broke 10FPS, so there's a big problem in the graphics engine. Also, there didn't seem to be very many people around, so finding someone for your monster to fight is a tough task. Other than that, it has potential. The monster customization is pretty cool. But it's a bit too kiddish and cartoony for me, and the game performance issues hold it back a good bit, but again it's beta. Wait for a full release and then give it a try. |

The only thing amusing about this entire launch is reading the official Darkfall forums and seeing somebody cuss out Aventurine and Tasos in every other topic, while the mods scramble to delete everything. Sieg Heil, Aventurine! No freedom of speech in Greece, I guess. |
|
|
When I attempted to buy my copy on the second day, and couldn't, Aventurine lost me as a customer. The way the company is run is inexcusable. |
|
|
Aventurine will go down in history as the worst company ever to head an MMO. |
|
|
And you know what the best part is? Their website is down again as we speak. The fanboys are sure looking like a bunch of clown shoes at the moment =) |

Fact: Aventurine released Darkfall. Fact: 99% of people who wanted to buy the game could not do so, SOLELY DUE TO AVENTURINE'S FAILURE. Fact: People still can not buy the game a week later. Fact: Aventurine is banning people from their forums for being angry, and understandably so, that they can't buy a game that has been released. Fact: Aventurine's website is down 75% of the time. It has not been updated with release information, or any concise way to inquire as to how to buy the game. Don't believe me? Go look at it yourself. Fact: Aventurine has no customer service whatsoever, and has done nothing but make excuses as to their god-awful servers as the reason why players can't buy their game. Fact: All of these things, when compared logically to other MMO releases result in the worst MMO launch in history. At least you could BUY Vanguard.
Please don't debate with me if you can't tell the difference between fact and opinion. |

It doesn't matter how good the game is if nobody can get ahold of it. Here, let me show you:
I just made this awesome game, it's got all the best features ever, and you can't tell me it's bad because you've never played it. The game is released, and no you can't buy it. That is simply retarded. A troll is somebody who says something for the sole purpose of pissing other people off. Darkfall's release is a disaster. 99% of people who wanted to buy the game couldn't. That is a failure, and a disastrous mistake. After that, it doesn't matter if the game shits gold bricks, it's still a failure. Why is that so hard for people to understand? |

I will not play this game, because of the way Aventurine is running it. I tried the first day to buy the game. Usually when a game is classified as released, that means that other people can buy it. After I realized that Aventurine was a joke, I put off any notion or care to ever play the stupid thing. |

Stating facts is never trolling. The fact of the matter is, the game should not have been released, and is being handled by people who obviously don't have the faintest idea what they're doing. Aventurine does not deserve to be defended by anyone for this miserable launch, and I fail to see how anyone intelligent could say otherwise. |

Do You Think Income-Inequality Exists in the USA? [Poll]

A company that gives two weeks paid vacation is the exception, not the rule. That is usually reserved for people who have been working at a business for several years, or hold high ranking positions in middle/major companies. Most jobs only really give you one week paid vacation. At least the ones I've had in the legal field. |
