I played today some hours and it was fun... My only comment is on performance.. i have an awesome pc that can run crysis and most new games like its nothing. I play ut3 on constant 60fps. But this game i wont even pass 20 fps so i spended many hours tweaking the game to make it playable.

I been leveling slower than most people,. im level 28 atm but i been crafting all the way up :D and gathering aether and everything else.
It takes time and is boring to gather, but boy you make some good money. I never enjoyed crafting so much on any game, im really making good money with armorsmith. If you dont craft thats ok, :) you just wont be as rich as people that do craft |

What exactly is it that people don't like about Aion?

The game is pretty badass i must say.
Level 28 and loving the game.. it gets awesome at level 10.. then at 25 it gets really epic. |

Ok those pictures have no validity at all.
First you choose the worst images ever. What is your system spec? Because i have a gtx 290 and an i7 and Aion runs 10 times bettern than Lotr |

2004 WoW vs 2009 WoW - a graphic comparison

If you compare content created when wow came out with Burning Crusade and Wrath, there is a definitive, undeniable progress. what they did not change is the style, which I don't really expect them to change as it is one of the features. Wow has a certan look to it regardless of poly count. Some people love it and some don't. I personally think that wow designers are the best at creating so much with so little, meaning that on ridiculously small poly count and no half of the effects we consider the norm today, they are capable of creating a very marquant enviroments and characters with tons of attention to detail. Not to say that the animation is far above everything else in the MMO department, as just about every game that I played after wow seemed stiff untill I got used to it so I can ignore it.
Yeah i agree with what you said. Blizzard are pushing their engine pretty hard. I notice lots of optimization since the game was released What i noticed the most in the last expansion was the textures, the quality of work was much better. DETAIL! is all in the little details.
Also better use of color |

2004 WoW vs 2009 WoW - a graphic comparison

As a game designer and computer animator i can tell you what the OP calls "graphics" are the same in 04 than in 09.. The only things that changed are the textures.. with better detail, contrast and resolution, but in the end the same engine :) |

How do you think is TOO long to spend on a mmo per day?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 8/12/09 10:45:46 PM
Lol 16 hours a day is waaay to much... To be honest, i spended back in my high school days 12+ hours a day playing mmos easy... Now that im doing a master i dont have that luxury, i play 10-12 hours a day on a hardcore weekend ( like the next one.) but on a normal week day 4-8 max |
