You joking? Are the actully bringing dead characters back in game? Aint this AoC game supposed to be played out after all the book's and its time frame?

15.2 What part of the Conan lore is the game based on?
We're basing the game primarily on the original works of Robert E. Howard, but we're also drawing upon over seventy years of books and comics. The game itself plays out shortly after the events that are described in the story “Hour of the Dragon”, which is considered to be one of Howards’ finest novels.
In this world, filled with cruel gods, mythical creatures, lost civilizations and a struggling human race, the mighty barbarian has finally seized the throne as king of Aquilonia.

Oh thanks, I forgot that I read that some months ago. Then i need to find that novel and some before that time frame to get a grip on when the game is played out.

Hopefully they have some actions in mind when it comes to fighting third-party-programs and gold-selling.

Any ideas here how you actully can fight that on a good level? For the cheating part I recon good communications with the community and key bans would be good. But the gold selling is a hard one.

Because almost all players going in to this game are players that can handle a death or two and most know that AoC is focused around pvp with pve material included. I don't find it strange at all that it won't have a rp - pve server in the beggining. For me however I dont care, I plan to play on the rp - pvp!

If there's any title for 2008 that will bring this burned out and almost dead genre called mmorpg back it is "Age of Conan".

I've been following this game since their website was launched.

However I'm dead set against a few lucky bastards that got into beta. You know these types, they will be the ones running around acting they are superior to us because they got lucky, makes me sick.

Closed betas need to be abolished altogether. Either have an open beta or don't do one at all no in between.

Nonetheless I can't wait to get my hands on this game as I have given up hope on the mmorpg genre, maybe this title will capture my interest like some mmorpg's of the way past have.

Who cares? The game is supposed to be fun, and after a month or two it wont matter if someone has more experience or not. It's about who is more dedicated to evolve in the game. I actully wont be signing up for the beta because I want to buy, explore and feel the final release of the game. To be overwhelmed by the wonderful world they have perfected with lesser bugs and a more enhanced environment. I want to get lost like a baby in a new world to come, and because of that I rather wait for a better product so I can have more thrilling experience.

After actully surfing around successfully I found that people recommend these 3 book's.

The Coming of Conan the Cimmerian
The Bloody Crown of Conan
The Conquering Sword of Conan

I am now asking you guys here, are they worth reading for my search in knowledge of the Hyborian world, and are they good book's?

Greetings people. I have a question regarding the world of hyboria and conan in general. I am really interested in this game that is due to come out in a few months. However I dont know anything about what the creator of hyboria has written or it's vast history. I want to learn this before I start to play this game, and I have a few months on me. I have just finished all the book's I bought last time I went in to a Sci-fi store. So I was wondering if some of you have any good advice on books regarding hyboria that has gotten good critique?

I am fully aware of the Arnold movie's that was released back in the days, though I rather read books regarding these land's before or instead of watching them.

It wont be able to run AoC,  on lowest settings though but it will still not run well even then.

(sounded a little agressive but it's not meant that way :P)

Get a dualcore processor, amd athlon 64 x2 6400+

Get -atleast -2Gbs of RAM (PC6400)

Get a 8800GT card with 512mbs memory

500W+ power supply

That's a cheap and very good computer and the prices on hardware has gone down A LOT. I would never buy a pre-built computer from dell of anything btw.

It's true his computer will not be able to run AoC. But the hardware you just recommended is the best on the market. I think something less than that will work just fine, even on higher settings of the game.

However, yes you need to upgrade big time or what I recommend. Buy a new computer, because upgrading from what you have now could become complicated. Some hardware from this computer might strangle the upgrade to a lower performance.

I just started playing this game to for about 3 days ago. I must say the first impression is real good, I am so satisfied in trying out this game. It holds more potential and fun then any other fantasy MMO-game out there. The only sad thing is that you need a more powerful computer to play it then the majorities of the MMO games.

I cant wait to see how they update this game in the future!

Ok, thanks for the answers :) Got a couple of more questions if thats ok.

How many types of crafts does it exist? Is it hard to master them and to they bring nice depth to the eco in the game?

Do you think this game would be good to me that value rp and pvp quite high in a game that is hard to master and quite advanced?

Thanks in advance!

Greetings.

I am cruising the forums for the moment in search of a new mmo-game. I have stumbled across this game Vanguard and I would like to have some questions regarding it.

1: Can you PVP on the RP server?

2: How many types of professions do exist? Is it easy to reach max skills?

3: Does it have enough content and depth so that it feels like I am involved  in a world and not a simple game?

I would be greatful for answers and if someone of you perhaps have a buddy key to give me, I would be extremly happy   You can send it to davod84@hotmail.com

Venekor (PvP Role Playing)

or

Nagafen (PVP)

How come you recommended Nagafen? Is it a good server with mannered people that in some occasions do RP?

So what server is suggested if I want to have a RP server wich has pvp enabled and is quite full but not overcrowded? Does not have to be super RP server, but just enough to keep the children at bay...
