After so many mmo-s only EVE ONLINE give me that adrenaline kick in pvp
Jita (General) « EVE Online 3/12/12 9:01:15 PM
I really have no doubt the end game of eve pvp is pretty kickass, looks like it to be honest. But anyone new attempting to join the action will pull their hair out in frustration day after day from the multiple hurdles it takes to even get into it. Argue it all you like, but I can count allot more people who have tried and quit in 2 days then attempting to play on probably a 1 out of 10 actually stay to play it. I know only one person out of the 30+ that are in my crew that actually still plays it. All the rest had the same issue as mentioned above. If CCP could fix that it would change the game, but then that would piss off the end game players so they and their community are stuck in a rut. Eh I am going on a rant, don't hate it in the end, looks fun, just getting into it is more frustrating then dealing with cancer. |

lol 6 days later and this thread is brought back from the dead eh? Who really cares at this point, if you don't like it move on, if you do , talk about it. Simple really , I don't get all the negative to those that don't like it , why keep at it? Oh nm... trolling. forgot. |

Is it me or is the staff here trying to make the forums popular again? haha this was a flame war at the title given, but eh whatever, it's a game doing good or bad, it matters only to the players that play it. Everyone here that puts hate on the game and doesn't even play it effects them how again? hehe yea, that's what I thought too. Anyways, good for them , I still enjoy it for now, never know what the future may bring but at least this is good news in the content department. |

Mass Effect 3 just pulled a Dragon Age 2 on me its terrible

The dlc outrage was a guy that found the code within the core game for the dlc. What the moron didn't know (because he's not a coder) is it was a plug-in for the mission when it was downloaded. You couldn't hack it and play it, it wasn't even finished till the game was gold. Point being, while people will bitch and moan about dlc, it doesn't kill one aspect of the core game. If you never knew about it, you would never miss it. What it adds is some lore, some cool combat, a companion and a gun. As mentioned elswhere, for 10 bucks, if you don't care for ME lore, pass till it goes cheaper. If you do , then worth the buy. The question in this thread was basicly "does the dlc kill the game without it" and the answer is again no, it doesn't, but it does add to it, as a dlc should. In dragon age 2, the dlc offered right away made the game night and day and those there after, but that's a whole other subject. |

If they didn't have the sales day one I might see some of the reasonings behind the post here and everyone has their own opinion. I buy all the dlc I can get my hands on for games I love, bioware I have done plenty of. There is one title "dragon age 2" I just couldn't do it. The game while fun, had to many flaws in it to make me want to go back to try more. Thankfully the devs have admitted to this and are working to fix that in 3, but it's a wait and see type of deal. In the end, so far I enjoy ME3 and give it my score of 89 compared to pc gamers 93. |

just so you can read up on it, as stated it adds to the game IE new companion and looks, but nothing that kills the core game or makes you feel like it was taken out in gameplay as they did with dragonage 2,. so this one is ok. |

Sure, that would be like saying everyone on this site are more accurate then the actual figures of say statues of a game. I remember few years back , "WoW will fail huge, their numbers are falling already"... few months later "WoW membership reaches 5million world wide" , that was laughable indeed. Hell look at anyone making a comment about a game, even me. Point is, PC gamer for example would not have millions sold a month if no one thought their info was no good and more. I read more "I got my butt hurt because I can't offord a,b,c " then anything else in this thread. No reasons, no remarks of actual game mechanics , nothing. The pc gamer review was pretty much on with what the game is and intails, my score is a bit lower then theirs and I just started the game. But in no way is it dragon age 2, that was a train wreck but I would still give it a 75 in a score. It had repeditive areas constantly, the combat was fun, story was good at points, but it was playable. There was however no replay etc. So in the end, hate EA/Bioware all you want. For me, still a viable developing house and publisher. I enjoy battlefield series, sims and more from EA and even some sport games. Sorry you got your E-Pon hurt along the way, but everyone here has yet to say anything that is actually realted to this game they can't take from a demo, to which for me equals, your full of crap. |

I always look at scoring for them with a 10 point margin of error compairing my taste to theirs, so far for 10 years it has worked. |

Myself and this mag are never far off, I think they nailed it. Definitly not what many here are sputting off, sorry you don't have the money to get it atm so your butt hurts, but doesn't mean it sucks because you can't. I have played and this review is pretty much right on, enjoying it very much so and I agree 100% with the spacebar comment, annoying as hell, hope it's fixed in a patch, my only gripe so far.

All of these games are so BORING now...maybe I need new friends...?
General Gaming « General Discussion 3/06/12 3:16:35 PM
Indeed, For me the best MMO would be a sandbox with DAOC (dark age of camelot) rvr, if that happened I don't think I would ever be bored. The only thing I am even interested in at the moment is Planetside 2, while argued (and I agree to a point) it's not a true MMO but more of a FPS. The idea of 666vs666vs666 on any given landmass in a fps enviorment taking bases etc just sounds awsome! :) I loved Planetside One in the day, so the new version has promise , I do have some fears about free to play and hackers, but alas time will only tell on those two. Beyond that thou, it looks as close to what I want in an MMO while not having to be on 24/7 to be effective. Jump in for 30 min or 6 hours and have a blast ! Sounds good to me. |

Guild Wars 2: Exploring the Ascalon Catacombs Dungeon

Indeed if this was the case, at least there is something there, have (as you well said) yet to see it thou, only time will tell. I just can't fall to the hype on this title. |

Eh, looks to good to be true, also agree with others, no north american publisher huge negative atm and many things I see here is what darkfall was suppose to be as well. Darkfall in the end wasn't such a horrible game as far as how it was ment to be , the seiging and pvp was fun, ganking crafters and resource gathers for my clan was all out fun, but in the end, it failed with multiple hack issues and more. For a top hyped game, there is just not enough "real info" here to say it's going to be good. So far it seems like a B movie looking to attempt a AAA raiting. You only need to look at my sig to see why I am skeptical. |

Guild Wars 2: Exploring the Ascalon Catacombs Dungeon
News Discussion « General Discussion 3/06/12 11:52:03 AM
Not to be the negative in this thread, but I will. I am really not interested in the game anymore but still enough interest to read these articles and see if something is actually ground breaking. Point is, how is this so new and epic compaired to say the elite levels of guild wars one? We had such instances that where difficult beyond difficult to get the top gear grind. So while the illusion of choices are great and a boss fight another boss (seen that before), just curious what is so unique about this? Eh people will hate my comment but I am a realist, I don't see anything here that says "new and innovative" , maybe it's just people are exciting for the game over-all, but the only thing I have seen unique in this version compaired to the previous is some of the combat tweeks. While there are things people will ramble off as innovative or unique (world missions) , they have actually been done before just in different ways. Point being, did you the author really have fun? or was the fun of it being a new game? Everyone praised swtor and while a fun game, it isn't all that innovative beyond the story part of it, the immersion is nice because you "feel" like actually helping npc's etc... but beyond that it's the same MMO, so how is guild wars two so much greater then one? This dungeon article just seems like a rehack of underground in gw1. |
