YOU NEED AN EXCUSE?, GAWD MAN!!!, ITS BLOODY EVE!!!!
What more do you need, just go for it, and damn well have the time of your life :)
See you on the other side of the gate camp :)

thats about right, the gate campers normally don't have the auto targeting mods, but, a few will, and no matter how fast you are, as long as they actually start targeting your ship, well then you can't cloak. Plus, in many cases, the gate campers will have interceptor pilots on speed boost crisscrossing the gate to uncloak anyone who has come through the gate after all, that gate firing is a dead give away that some one has entered the system. |

Definitely. The game skill system is set up for time, not how many enemies or mobs you kill, the pvp is relentless, and, can be had at the drop of a hat. Goto jita, or, Motsu just once, and Declare yourself a game god, 500 players will gladly bring you down, as a solo, or, as a team effort.
The game has it all, to that exploration itch, to the crazed adreline beserker rush, from the mind numbing miner drone, to the 'how do I manipulated the Eve economy' fanatism.
Eve has it all, just don't expect to be at the top, even in 10 years, because, in 10 years, Eve will evolve several times more, and, it will make you want to learn it all again. |

they are the newest T3 Strategic Cruisers, and, the 2 pics look as though they are the variants from the Tengu Hull, Caldari race. These new ships have up to 5 different variant modules for 5 different subsystems, only 4 of the modules per subsystem have been released, with the 5th version being released within the next 3 months. Each race has a version of these new cruisers. |

So instead of trying to make the game more fun to play...
SWG Veteran Refuge « Star Wars Galaxies 5/21/09 7:16:35 PM
Personally, I've always wondered why SOE didn't add NPC buffers to the game. That way, they were actually removing creds from the players, but, the players could get buffs at anytime. Yes, I know this would have meant that Docs and Ent. proffessions would have lost out, but, then, they could have made the Doc proffession more engaging, and an actual team player instead of a just a bot buffer |

Question for SWG vets about upcoming sci-fi games
SWG Veteran Refuge « Star Wars Galaxies 3/02/09 12:22:09 AM
At the moment, its a toss up, both STO, and SW:TOR seem to be coming along very well, so, for me, its a really hard call, though, I did play SWG, and, did play the NGE for 6 months*wish I hadn't*. I can't help, but, look forward to the newest version, as for STO, its a new MMO, and, new ground to break. What I really hope for is that MMO companies will finally get around to massively improving the AI in MMOs, after all, look at the high focused AI in the Far CRy 2, Fallout, and Crysis 2 games, MMOs neeed to be more intutive, and, be able to just not either tank, or, just do damage. Even Eve Online's AI is starting to get dated, and, what do the Devs and GMs do there, they nerf the players ships, and force the players to try and do battle with thier nerfed stats against a non nerfed enemy, not, a more intelligent enemy, just a regular enemy that does the very same thing over and over again, gets mind numbing after awhile. Unfortunately, even pvp players sometimes are just as mindless as the AI, and, will follow the very same patterns day after day, month after month. |

If SOE let the license go to someone, then I feel sorry for the other guy, we all know how SOE handles stuff, to them, the game may be worth 10 mill overall, but, they would expect 100 mill for just the license. That means alot of work for the new owner before it even gets past day 1 :(
But, to play the game that had me hooked for well over a year, and, to friends that came with that, I would sub for at least 1 year. To play the game I remember so well, and enjoyed for so long. :(
But, alas, thats not going to happen, its been 4 years and counting, and nothing has changed at SOE, their mindless, and over egotistical, eccentric, and shamefully excuse of "listening" to the public, the boastful, and over the top excuses of exciting and "new" gameplay.
No, SWG is dead, along with any possible return by me along with that :(

EVE Online: Apocrypha: Wormholes and You
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/27/09 4:59:04 PM
After reading over the article for the 3rd time, and, then reading what posters have thought of on the subject, I', actually looking forward to this new content. This is truely some of CCPs finest working being placed in front of us. As for finding ways around the jumping to the new systems, maybe some of the new T3 modules will be actually jump drive enhancement systems, allowing Jump Freighters to go across more than 6 systems, or, even the possibility of getting a Mothership/Titan into the new systems so that they can become the newest of base locations and jump clone vantage points back and forth to empire/low sec/ and 0.0. The possibilites are now becoming endless, and, in a few years, they may have the ability to add planetary landfall content. To be honest, of late I've been sort of critical of CCP and the humdrum content that they've been pushing out, it was always geared to the pvp'r, and, rarely was anything truely added that only allowed the pve part of the game to grow, even so, with this new content, there is indeed a major push to give all aspects of players something to look forward to. 1 thing that I still find lacking is that though CCP has nerfed much of the ship content/missile content and other content, they've not found ways to bring that content back up to a balanced keel. One of the former GMs/Devs stated that in the future, should there be warranted that they'd address the issues of unbalnced ships by revamping the rigging points on ships. Unfortunately, due to the recent nerfing policies of CCP, its indeed now time to redo the rigging points on ships, after all, whats the use of having 8 possible rigging points if your not going to use them in any way possible.
Titans and Motherships=8 open Carriers and Dreadnaughts=7/6 open Battleships=5 open Battlescruisers and Cruisers=4 open Frigates=3 open
T2 Variants receive 1 less open slots
But, then, its just a suggestion, and, unfortunately, most Devs and GMs hate having good ideas suggested to them, after all, they beleive in the God complex hype, and, beleive that they are the only ones able to come up with ideas for a game. |

True The comp I've got now is almost 4 years old from the time I bought it new, so, I want to put together my own this time, instead of pre-fab, mucked up Dell. So far, leaning towards a AMD3 board, and, maybe one of the new 950s when the market settles down a little after release. |
|
|
Its a tough call, so far, no Motherboard makers have started at hinting that USB 3.0 will be on any of their boards. But, other than that, I've already made up my mind to wait until close to Oct./Nov. to putting together my next big gaming rig. |

AH, the horrified screams of a Eve Pilot on a Adreneline rush, WELCOME to the scary world we call home :) |

So, what do you look forward to doing in the game?
General Discussion « Star Trek Online 1/15/09 4:58:03 PM
Would be nice to get sucked up and deposited into the Delta Quadrant, and explore there, but, even going through the Wormhole by DS9, and arriving in the Gamma Quardent will be thrilling. Can't forget Quark's Bar, or, mybe alot of other places, maybe the Trill Homeworld, must be more lovelies like Dax there :) |

EVE Online: CCP Takes Action on Starbase Exploit
News Discussion « General Discussion 12/12/08 6:30:43 PM
There is definately a good sense of justice, that CPP did the right thing, "this time", but, in the past, the Devs and GMs have been lax in the way that they merit out punishment for those scammers, exploiters and other ppl who detract from the game. As for the mention of the ISd reporter who was banned 'pernmantly' for bumping the BOB Capital Ship, it was well shown that he used the ISD control menus correctly and actually didn't bump even 1 ship in the battle, but, because a well known BOB member was the one doing all the bad mouthing, CPP took the side of the BOBs without even asking. or, looking at the official log evidence.
In the case of the T20 scandal, they even let the Dev off the hook, after all, you don't actually want to send one of your top Devs out the door all because he took advantage of his power. :(
But, what about next time?
as the old saying goes "Power Corrupts, Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely"

Wonder if it was BOB members, if it was, serves them right, there are several of them that need to be brought down a few pegs.

{UFP} The United Federation of Planets
General Discussion « Star Trek Online 11/27/08 12:14:08 PM
COOOL, been waiting to see more details of STO to come out, have been playing Eve for 5 years, and, the last year have done nothing but log in to reset skills, and, chatting, I have found Eve to be actually quite boring, with no true enemy other than other players. they really need to beef up the NPCs and actually start getting the Devs and GMs to host some really good 'live events' that all game players can enjoy, just not a pvp tourny every 6 months :( |

I can't find ship guides. Advice for best skills for these ships.
Jita (General) « EVE Online 11/25/08 11:57:32 AM
Ok, Devalon,
you've got a lot of info at your finger tips, but, there is one thing you have to remember to, learning skills, are your bestest friend, and, the higher they are, the better. Train them to at least lvl 4, and then start on the advanced versions, but, before learning advanced learning skills, there is a must have skill, its called Cybernetics, train it to lvl 3, and that way you can get into standard, +3 implants, then after getting all your advanced skills to lvl 4, train cybernetcs to lvl 5, and get into +5 implants as quick as possible, after that, skill training in anything will be quicker to. |

the examples I plced weren't meant to be taken as ships by pilots destroyed, but, as the examples of conflict. the first one is a perfect stage, the new npc race sees an advantage, and takes it, it shocks the players into realizing that Eve has a newer deadlier enemy, and, that now, you many come underfire at gates, stations, or, even inside missions. Put simply, this enemy hates us entirely, they aren't part of a faction, alliance, or, empire, they could care less, they want nothing more than our deaths.
As for the pvp content, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the pvp as it is now. And, the GMs, and Devs have worked hard to make that aspect of the game as good as it is. What I stated, was that its has become predictable, and, that is the only "event" that the GMs and Devs are presently endorsing as the only pure player participation event, it leaves 99.9% of the Eve population without anything to get involved with because the GMs and Devs don't believe that the Eve populace really want to have fun, or, eve universe participational events that 100% of the populace can enjoy. |

*sigh*
Why am I not surprised at Bins response, afterall, hardcore pvp'rs are all about killing what they can kill, they don't want a challenge, they don't want confrontation, no, all they want is that big flashy red death sign beside thier name marking them as killers of the enemy. Bin, I'm not making light of you, but, I know you "read" the post, but, you didn't "think" of what was said. So, a good couple examples would maybe clarify what I said.
A group of pilots have settled in at a .3 system gate, waiting for victims, a few mins. and 3 small vessels pop through the gate, as the guns fire, a warning goes out over the ships comm, "Spatial Anamoly Detected", "Unknown Ships inbound" you look around, and roughly 100kms away you see a black mark in space, suddenly, several ships appear, and then all hell breaks loose, as not only is you shipmates locked and fired on, but, even your own targets are taken out by the new enemy ships, before your ship explodes, you see them firing on the gate.
#2 The miner knows its going to be a great day, after a precheck of his mining ship in Amarr, he begins to undock from the station, suddenly, over the ships systems, the detection system comes alive, "Unknown Spacial Anomoly detected, hostile ships inbound" Its to late, as the hapless miner is finishing undocking from the station, a fleet of ships appear almost from nowhere, they target the station, and, any and all ships in the vicinity, pilot dies.
Thats what I'm meaning, a ruthless enemy, an enemy that doesn't fear Concord, or, even other players, an enemy bent on the destruction of the Eve Universe. Which can be made into an event. But, Alas, the Devs and GMs want to nothing but, show up for work, check the forums, maybe do a reply or 2, goto meeting about the next possible expansion, then, maybe do a little programming, then, right after that, grab thier paychecks and hit the bars, and then party for 6/7 hrs, because they believe they did something great :( |

I know you guys are so into Eve, but, to be honest, of late I've been finding Eve a tad uneventful :( Cooe'n, the last big end all event that involved every eve citezen was way back in 04, and, that involved the Jovian Diplomat getting his atoms plattered all over the Eve Universe. But, what have the GMs and Devs done of lately, nothing, nada. They don't even want to have events in Eve, unless they get all gungho behind a pvp tourney, where the outcome has all rady been determined before the first shot has been fired. What Eve needs to spice it up, is a real enemy, a NPC force that has no compunction about trying to take out an Empire Station, has no fear of Concord, or, no alignment to any Empire or race, a very ruthless enemy. AND, please, don't say that other real players are just as nasty, truth be told, real players are far more predictable then what ever NPC game players can be, all becasue the way they can be programmed can make them even harder to judge. Enemy ships that suddenly appear to harass you, are far more dangerous to, because, they can appear anywhere, in the universe, and, they can appear in a group, and offer the oppurtinunity for an open raid of sorts, especially if the fleet that is trying to take out a station is has many ships in its fleet. Then, it becomes a real challenge to knock this fleet away from the station, and, with the possibility of forming a makeshift fleet in a matter of seconds on the fly. allows ppl to get into the action very quickly to |
