[General Article] RaiderZ: Review In Progress - Part 3
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 11/24/12 3:21:49 AM
Originally posted by Po_gg THIS. No matter what one thinks about PWE, gameforge is around ten times worse. Also what I found surprising is that even though I am playing on US server, I am NOT experiencing any lag at all. Game is just as fluid as if I was playing on gameforge's servers, which is commendable. |

Lineage 2: New Video Outlines the Future
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 11/21/12 12:24:40 PM
Originally posted by Sovrath Lineage 3 development has been pretty much stopped. Give it up already Its quite obvious why it was scrapped too. most of whatever they planned was just repurposed and added as Goddess of Destruction. LE is pretty much new L3.
And yes its a sequel to Lineage 1 since, surprise surprise, Lineage 1 storyline comes AFTER Lineage 2 and unless they do another prequel, next game in the series HAS to be after L1. |

The Secret World: Big PvP Changes Incoming
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 11/12/12 12:01:07 PM
To those whining on how this should have been implemented earlier - that was not exactly the priority.
They did listen to people and they have been patching the game and changing stuff with every update, so its only normal that they first got game stable, then fixed out the most glaring bugs in already existing content, added mroe content and then focused on revamping on what did not work in the original content. They still listened. |

[General Article] RaiderZ: Review In Progress - Part One - Starting Out
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 11/07/12 2:28:17 AM
Originally posted by Slukjan Think of Terra, but fun. Terra had a good idea, but somehow managed to make the combat incredibly dull. RaiderZ on other hand meshes the Terra style of stuff with Monster Hunter style of encounters and some unique combat mechanics. The game is filled with gigantic boss encounters from the first levels. Freeform-class system also helps(bassically you can learn any skills from the trees of the classes and you can equip two weapons at once, which you can switch in the middle of combat, going from close-tank to ranged caster, for example, within miliseconds of one button push). There are no item drops - monsters only drop crafting materials and stuff like that, which you then use to create the items you want.(which IMO is not only nice for immersion, but also solves the problems of set-hunting other games would suffer from).
There ARE some problems like abit slower pacing in levels 30 to 40, but for me at least, RaiderZ is bassically what I expected of Terra before I found out what Terra is actually like. |

[Preview] Neverwinter: From Table-Top to PC

Originally posted by TheMaelstrom They just inflated the numbers by simple multiplication to make it:
Its the same as them having more levels per tier - the difference seems to be there, but the difference is not there. Doing 12 damage to a monster who has 40 hitpoints is no different than doing 1200 damage to a monster who has 4000 hitpoints. |

Originally posted by Shana77 You can freely set the rulesets, design the maps.
You can create an entire branching bioware-rpg dialogue system if you want - anything and everything you place in the world can have a custom ruleset, can be a trap, can be an objective, etc. The basis is pretty much similar with how you create a tabletop campaign. Hell you can even make monsters and npcs dress and act like you want them to.
You can't be an actual dungeon master within a game nor create pvp-based competitive dungeons, but they are looking at adding some sort of DM and pvp-dungeon systems post-launch. |

Wizardry Online: Beta Begins this October
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 10/19/12 2:18:30 AM
Originally posted by Karteli When you die in Wizardry Online you become a ghost - then its all about racing towards resurrection point in limited time, while avoiding reapers and all other horrible stuff that is after you and can perma-kill you. When you reach the point you can resurrect - it can fail however and you can still permadie, however you can sacriffice some of your loot to increase the chance of you returning to life. In case you actually get dead, everything in your warehouse, your achievements, etc is "inherited" by your next character, while everything that is on your body becomes lootable(so in a way its also a risk-reward kind of thing - do you keep your best equips hidden or do you put them on risking to loose them).

Age of Wushu: GDC Online Trailer Released
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 10/13/12 2:52:56 AM
Originally posted by OG_Zorvan realistic combat for wuxia genre? Yes.
Realistic does not always mean "as in real life".
"Realistic combat in wuxia genre" pretty much means being able to replicate the insane moves and floaty combat of those wuxia movies. Its 100% faithful to the genre, so you won't spend time running into invisible walls, stabbing a player a few times and seeing words "Miss" float above him or breaking your immersion in various other possible ways. |

[Review] Torchlight 2: Kudos on a Job Well Done

You have no idea what you are talking about, do you? - Loot variety. - New Game Plus. - Fully randomized game world and dungeons. - FULLY modable game with mod tools AND integration of steam workshop.
That's like saying Elder scrolls franchise has no longevity. |

In before doomsayers and usual pointless mess of people speculating about things they have no idea about.
Anyway, as long as Ragnar remains, there won't be any no big problems with game's direction and game won't be affected that much. |
