Well, if no one's advertisting their guild on your server, maybe you can try to ask people about their guilds, if they're recruiting, etc.. instead of just waiting. Or check the Warhammer alliance server forums?

I usually start a new Final Fantasy game when I get bored of MMOs and need a game, or some of my old favorites like Shadow Hearts, Crono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, Zelda OoT, etc.. (:

As long as it's immersive, as long as it has depth and the soul of a true MMORPG, then I won't be disappointed. That's all I really want from Kotoro right now. I honestly don't care about anything else at this point.

Red mage in FFXI and necromancer in GW.

Why is it EA's fault? They said they made the decisions on their own and that EA had nothing to do with it. I don't understand this claim at all, hasn't EA turned around and left the developers alone, or have I heard wrong?

I also remember them (the devs)  talking about the classes really being not all that great, and they weren't just making excuses. I even remember reading a lot of the elder beta tester's complaints.

Nice highlights! Anti-AFK, realm bonuses, no rolling need for items you can't use, queueing for all scenarios at once.. very cool patch.

Aye - so the two games are very similar in that regard. The difference is the pets vs trophies (pets = WoW, trophies=WAR) plus that the texture quality in WAR can create some awsom looking heraldry connected to tome unlocks that WoW will not be able to emulate (http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/album.php?albumid=792&pictureid=4186). But in essence they are identical.

When it comes to the other parts of the ToK everything is not in WoW. You can read the ToK as a journal over your character - and then also over your guild plus that all the lore is in there if you are  lore geek. These two features are not in WoW.

 

Agreed.  if you are talking about statistics and counting..   Acheivements and ToK are the same.  But the ToK is better because of the lore and 'story' elements it adds.   In WOW, you get 'credit' for discovering a zone, in Warhammer you get a zone description and history added to your ToK when you discover a zone.

Yes, the little stories and lore entries are why I loved the Tome. It was fun for me to just read over some of the chapters or lore unlocks, but I'm a nerd like that. (:

Really, how many titles and pets and items and things that other players can actually see that you have can you get from the achievements?

I didn't have any long fights like that.. but I did manage to make a nemesis on my WH, a nice little WE who kept running into me in scenarios. I guess we made some sort of agreement to ignore everyone else and slaughter eachother in every match. I think the final score was 9-13 for her after I had to leave..

I have decided that I won't be subscribing at the end of my 30 days.. I know I've been defending it too, but two weeks has been enough time for me.  I'm in the process of writing a fairly long review about my experiences that I'll probably post in a few days, but for now I'll just say that I have absolutely zero attachment to the game world, to my realm, to my character or to anything else in WAR, and I don't see that changing even after the game has matured, not unless they make a lot of design changes.
