Has anything in the game changed or is this guide still accurate? |

I tried the game at my friends' after getting interested in it from watching a few dev videos, but after playing it I'm definetly sided with most of the beta testers who had negative comments in the "nda lifted" thread in this forum. The game is shallow to me, plain and simple. Besides that, my other main problem is the pricetag. There's no way in hell I'll be paying 50$ +15/m for this, it's just not worth it to me. However, I would definetly play this at least a few hours a week if it was F2P - its an alright time sink until the other, better games come out. Anyway, this poll is more for the people who are neutral or slightly negative about the game itself, but would be playing it if not for the pricetag.. so would you play it if it was free? |

Well.. you might like LOTRO for PvE. FFXI is another, and although I haven't played in years, still seems like a great option. But remember in terms of level pacing, LOTRO=easy, FFXI=hard. So if you're more casual, then go for LOTRO. There's also DDO if you're into D&D. All are pretty good in regards to PvE. It just depends on what you like. |

Interested in trying this out.. the game just launched but all servers list as "low" on the status page. Will it take awhile for them to fill up or what? |

The next 5 years - what are you looking forward to?

I actually don't want an Elder Scrolls MMO from them... I want something new. A nice sci-fi first-person MMO is what I'm thinking.. |

I played this game a really long time ago on ps2 when it came out for a little bit, and now I'm considering giving it a shot as a time sink until AoC. I miss the music and the gameplay.. and being completly new again in Vana'diel should be really fun. But I have a few questions.. What is the most populated/popular NA server now? What classes will give me a better chance of not having to wait hours for a party? Is the game still generally well populated or have most places become ghost towns? Most of my friends quit a longtime ago so I really have no connections or anything, I'll be starting with virtually nothing. Is it difficult to find linkshells taking in newbies? And when is the new expansion due? Thanks

Pirates of the Caribbean Online: Pirates of the Caribbean Online Launches

I played it for an hour or so.. only saw about three other people during that whole time. An average kid's game.. not really worth the 10$/month pricetag.

BioWare, Square-Enix and Blizzards secret MMOs; Serenity MMO; Fallout MMO; World of Darkness MMO; Lineage III; Guild Wars 2; EVE: Ambulation; Age of Conan; Aion; Warhammer; Pirates of the Burning Sea; Marvel Comics MMO; Spellborn; Stargate Worlds; Star Trek Online; Darkfall... Big wave of new MMOs and major upgrades on the way to replace the current rubbish.. it's alot to follow. I honestly think I'll have to change my plan of paying for only one mmo at a time if any of these are as decent as they're looking to be, and if they make it out the door. I can't wait for Age of Conan, that will keep me busy at least until all the other new stuff arrives. What are you most excited about and following? :)

Lots of questions about this game!
Britannia Tavern (General) « Ultima Online 10/21/07 2:38:49 PM
Hi, I'm a very old UO player (99-01), played on chesapeake and stayed around for AoS for just a little bit when it came out, then quit and played emus. Now I'm seriously considering returning as I've heard great things about the RP communities in this game, but I know next to nothing about all the new expansions and current OSI servers. So I have alot of questions for current players!
1-Is the Kingdom Reborn required or can I stick with the lovely 2d client? 2-What do I have to buy in order to get the 'all-in-one' pack? (all expansions) 3-How many new lands are there? Last time I played there was Britannia and Felucca (of course), T2A, and the new AoS land (forget its name), I think Malas. And also, which lands have the most activity? (When I left, Felucca was dead) 4-I've heard about alot of neat RP on Atlantic, but which server would be considered the "Landroval" RP server of UO? 5-Will it be extremly hard to start off as a newbie without buying some startup gold and "powerup" characters?? 6-Which servers have the best and worst communities? 7-I've heard mixed things about lots of people leaving after KR and lots of people joining. So is the population steady and which server is most populated? 8-I want an honest opinion, is this worth the monthly fee + money for gold and characters? I will play the trial and see for myself but I like hearing vets opinions
Ok thanks! |

Hi, I'm wondering if any current MMOs out there have a paypal option for payments instead of credit cards, if so which ones? Thanks |
