Constant negativity is killing this genre

Well EA was looking at bioware and mythic side by side and said, "So this is the difference between a dev team... and a Great Dev team"
I think it's a serious blow to Mythic, seeing as they're the only one of the two with many years of experience in running MMOs. But honestly.... who couldn't see this coming? Warhammer has continued to plummet since last year... many weren't happy at all with Mark Jacobs' and his choices.. I think we can only guess how many subscriptions have been lost since 300K was announced. I would think people would be happy with this news of restructuring and not attack EA for this.. hasn't Age of Conan turned around with new leadership? |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Twelve Possible Classes

I haven't played KOTOR in years now, but IIRC, Light Side force users had healing abilities, and Dark Side had draining abilities, as well as many different healing items each. Also, I specifically remember them saying that the game will NOT feature many VS one battles, that they really wanted to avoid that, so there would not be healers quietly sitting in the back providing support (maybe companions, but not players... ) They've said it a few times, there would be no dedicated healer, each class will be able to use either abilities or items to heal. |

It's nice to speculate, but I think he's waaaaay off, and clearly hasn't been following statements from Bioware. Crime Lord? Politician? Really? Why would they have a seperate Pilot class when they could give ships to Jedi, BHs, Smugglers, etc? They've already stated there won't be a dedicated healer class, that means no 'medic'. Gah.. pay attention! |

Voted most disappointing announcement of E3!?

FFIX.. Kuja.. <3 They must have been going along with the crowd's reaction. Everyone went wild when it was announced and the trailer showed, then groans and scattered applause when the 'online' popped up. It was hilarious :p

what do you think? next big thing?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/23/09 7:38:21 AM
TERA does look beautiful and fun, but I think the two next "big" MMOs after Aion will be TOR and FFXIV, both of which I'm sure will battle it out for second place in the market and be huge successes.. TOR is being designed with a whole new philosophy of story and rich immersion with full VO and such, and we can only guess what SE has planned for XIV, but I'm sure it'll be astounding. :p We'll see with TERA.. |

(Rumored) SW:TOR Legacy System

The part about the player customizable starships that could be 'stolen' was very interesting too... that was in one of the dev diary videos for the planet Ord Mantell I think, where he teased and said they "will steal your starship'.. hehe |

General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 6/22/09 8:59:51 PM
I stopped playing a few months after release after being disappointed, and most of my friends leaving.. sooo, I went back to some of my older games like FFXI, where I had a great time with my old friends.. I actually tried Darkfall with a guild and canceled that after two weeks.. now I think I'll try AION while I for SW:TOR. My friends are starting to convince me to return to WoW too.. so either WoW or Aion in the near future. :P I see Mythic is really hard at work with patches and events, but I won't be returning to it.. ever, most likely.

I really enjoyed the first, along with the comic book. It's a great introduction to the story. :) Also incase anyone missed it, there will be 19 of these timeline narratives. To get a small preview of their names, click on the blue arrows at the top right corner of the holo screen, or drag it from right to left. Some intresting titles for the upcoming updates. |

That could mean that, while the main storyline for newly created Bounty Hunters might start out with the Sith, there might still be oppurtunity to change allegiances down the road. |

More laughs, and lots and lots of protests (www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp.) EVE drama is the best drama. |

I don't find they're anything alike. Warhammer is fragmented in zones, tiers and instances with almost no risk vs reward, completely linear gameplay, very casual-oriented, while Darkfall has an almost seamless world (besides some dungeon areas loading), and much harsher penalties, grind, etc, and more diversity. Darkfall and Warhammer appeal to different types of gamers. |
