Instead of making an item shop, they should try to make Eve Online fun to play.

This.

Unsubbed X2  and now playing Perp.  For me it was not about NeX.  It was a combination of CCP's tendancy to blow off fixing existing game content to chase some new "sparkly" and what appears to be a shift in where they are taking the game; less interest in long-term playerbase, more interest in rotation of new accounts.

Perpetuum is just a small indie game, it will eventuelly die out. The developers are desperate for income as most of its players have left the game. Played perpetuum, and it has its own challenges.

Perpetuum does have its challenges. Its new and is doing very well. Its much more fun than EVE. Dont have to travel 26 way points and 90 minutes later to get somewhere. Crafting in perp is much more fun and competitive compared to EVE. As well as the combat. Eve is dying.. Why many of us have left for Perp.

I expect some of you still to play EVE. But the opportunity is less in EVE than what it once was. There is a reason Perp is now higher rated by players  than EVE. How did that happen hmmm?

Also, EVE was once a small indie game. 2004 it had less than 10k subs after its first year. Then CCP did some things right. Listening to its players was one of them. Something that EVE has forgot. regardless of its player based delegates.

Now CCP is following the same route as SOE!

I don't understand why you are complaining about this shitty game anyway.

Hopefully this move from the devs will kill this game off permanently.

"UP, UP, UP" that made me LOL! This game is utter failure!

Avoid it at all costs!

LOL @ this thread

BW need to show this more and not post concept art and other useless stuff. If you look around internet people talk so much shit about this game and it's graphics... they are looking at very old pictures and video clips.

By now we know they have been working hard on the story missions and that everyone can talk in the game... now they must show us something new!

Run animations is something they just made to make the character move and I'm sure it will be worked on before the game is out.

All Bioware are good at atm are sitting on their thumbs and releasing shitty concept art that nobody gives a fuck about.

The way this game is going it will be released in 2015 and then it will look even more dated than it is now lol.

This game is FAIL. Avoid it at all costs!

I hate this POS game. I wish Crapic would go bankrupt and die lol !

Well considering Bioware's piss poor support for Dragon Age, failing to fix a single player game for over 6 months I have concerns about this being a success,

I'll concede it might be good. But it ain't MMO good.  In other words it may provide a level of entertainment commensurate with standard video game fare, but when you put it in the MMO category, the expectations are a lot higher. Is this a game I'll be playing for many months? Years? No, I was bored in less than 10 days.

Got to keep that in mind: good game != good mmo.

Of course if they hadn't tried to convince everyone the game is an mmo and just released it a a standalone with multiplayer, none of us would be discussing it.

I agree, an mmo it is not. Pretty much all content can be solo'd.

The only thing so far i've seen is the CE that requires about 20 players...

Rather disappointed with the game, for many reason but most importantly-

1. The leveling. After 20 theres no doubt about it quests become rare and the XP is lacking even from the ones you run into. Grinding isn't necessarily my thing. Though someone can argue that grinding mobs is no different than grinding quests but straight grinding is monotonous.

2. Crafting and gathering. The game almost makes me feel like I need to level these two, and when it came down to it I had 200 Iron Ore that took nearly 30 minutes (Or more) to smelt into bars. There's an issue there. I've also heard of people spending over four hours just doing work orders to level their craft. This doesn't settle well with me. The drop rate on required fluxes is unsettling as well. I've had to drop over 100k Kinah on Fluxes just for a shot at making a blue item, just a shot...

3. Bag room/space. Very lacking and you're expected to pay mass amounts of Kinah to expand your cube. My bags are always full because of the gathering materials/gems I'm always picking up while leveling.

4. Certain mechanics. In my opinion some abilities need to be taken off the GCD. Like a Gladiator's Crippling Cut for example. Sprint causes my character to fly across the screen occasionally (Well, more than that) when used. Ranger's Stunning shot deals 200-400 damage but I've have it crit over 1k. There was another post about this I believe. Random numbers are random and don't make sense.

5. Queues. I'm not into waiting 2 hours or more to get into the game. I'm not sure why they opened with so few servers, especially with the game being out for a while in Asia.

6. Channels in the 1-10 and 11-20 zones but none for the zones above that? It's hard enough to muster the intention of grinding, but when I do I have to worry about large masses of people all over doing the same.

7. Gold spam. This is out of hand. And I need to log onto their main site to place in a ticket! This is ridiculous. I can block all the spammers I want but it seems like theres an army of them.

8. Lag. Constant disconnections are happening left and right for many players. Once again, with the game being out for some time you would imagine they have a pretty hefty revenue to make the game smooth and solid, but apparently not. The other night the server randomly came down without word as well, which will also lead me to my next point

9. Communication. When the server went down we received no word at all on the status of our server for 4 hours. When word finally came out, it was a Twitter update. This is very- VERY poor communication with customers. Forums were packed with threads and no one knew what was going on at all because after a certain point we couldn't even see the server lists. Another issue is there are no updates on the launch client. Nothing at all. When servers are down for maintenance.. I wouldn't know. It would just tell me I couldn't connect to the servers and kick me off the game. This causes a lot of confusion. Lastly, petitions need to be carried out through their website- wtf? I begin to wonder if they even have any game masters at all.

10. As mentioned earlier. No in-game support.

11. Chat. The opacity and font cannot be changed which is a bother for me as I find the text to be far too large and even with my chat filtered I find it difficult to keep up with legion/party/whisper chats. The lack of a command list irks me as well.

12. Triggered emotes- these are just annoying...

13. Oh screw it, you get the point. I won't be returning until serious changes are made.

Blizzard employee! Don't believe the noob!

So I read the first few replies and...

lol... "Whoosh..." is all that comes to mind.

But it's a great example of a guideline when posting on message forums...

Many fans/haters are too busy foaming at the mouth waiting to tear into any post they can to ever figure out whether the tone it was written in warrants it or not.

I particularly love how there are those who regard any comment they don't like or don't agree with as "whining". That always gives me a nice chuckle.

Anyway... I didn't mean to violate the holy sanctity of your precious game by posting a tongue-in-cheek observation/commentary on it.

My apologies. I must have lost my head.

Although the closing question of my OP was a serious one :).

you seem to have choesen to ignore my inital response, so I`m going to answer that particular question directly, although I want to be clear in thef act that I do not feel that AoC gets an inappropriate amount of coverage.

In gereral, there are a couple of ways that an article comes about. Sometimes, yes, the company says `we`d like to talk to you about this`. When this happens, I will either agree or not based on whether I think that it is a topic that our readers would like to hear about. Don`t mistake this with a blind `sure, I`ll put up your promo material`. That`s just not how it works. That being said, sometimes interviews or articles are about something being added to the game or similar and sometimes they`re more confrontational.

More often though, I approach a company about wanting to do an interview about topic X. None of our AoC articles recently have been presented by Funcom. The 3.0 interview was just that.. information about a major update. Following this kind of thing is not unusual. Beyond that, I suppose there`s the review we posted (giving the game a 6.0) and Ben`s interview with a  guild which had both positive and negative points.

I think though that your argument loses merit when you actually look at the numbers presented in my original response to your post. Try as hard as you wantt, but not everything is a conspiracy.

Strange that you can get exclusive video interviews with Erling from Funcom, however with the offical announcement of SWTOR MMORPG.com brings us zero video interviews.

Being a site dedicated to MMO's i would have thought you guys would be on the ball, guess i was wrong. Seems Gamespot bet you to it.

LOL! Fanboy!

Well I already said it in another post, but I will say it again...

Age of Conan has issues and still need at least one year/maybe an expansion to be great, it has good art, unique combat, a great lore, fantastic music, great graphics, but it need more balance, more content/zones, depth, fixes and polish.

But as someone said :  "This review is just the reflection of the state of the AoC-forums on this website. It's a coward article hiding behind the community."

The review is offensive, it lacks information and a subjective sense of judgment .

It is a personal and emotive review, not a profissional and informative review, the player base has the right to feel offended.

The lack of respect (for the player base) and perception ( about the "few emotes") showed this is not a serious review.

The funny thing is, now even the official content of MMORPG.COM matches the majority of parcial, offensive and misinformed posts of MMORPG.COM forums.

...

Just face it, the game sucks and it got the review it deserved. Its luckey to even get a rating of 6...

If SWTOR took atleast 1-2 million subs from blizzard i'd be happy
