Devs did try collision detection at one point, but used it on vehicles and there were problems getting around in them.
I'm not sure what you're getting at here.
I'm GLAD they added tab targeting back into the game, I cannot stand manual target in an MMORPG game. Except, the tab targeting in the NGE is still fucked up compared to the original- you have to use a couple extra buttons to untarget and retarget while in the original system you could click on another target or click the screen to untarget.
The NGE was obviously designed with FPS in mind, but it didn't work with this system because when you targeted something and try to attack it while someone was in front or near it, you'd get a "sent trade request" spam non-stop, and there were many many many other issues like that. If SOE wants the target system to work, they should've learned how Tabula Rasa's target system worked.
Again, I'm not sure what you're getting at here. I can strafe left/right like in an FPS game, the game engine is too old to support jumping.
Imagine that the animations didn't exist between Nov 2005 and somewhere in 2007. At least devs put them back in, though they were smooth as a baby's butt before the NGE, infact the CU had some of the most badass animations you'd ever see in any game (pikeman and Jedi).
