If the person that plays SWTOR likes the game, he will sub no doubt, there's no reason to F2P if you're enjoying the game- you're handicapping yourself if you stay F2P, their F2P model is a ridiculous joke. You know EA/Bioware will be receiving emails complaining about how crappy the F2P is, after declaring the sub model dead.

If I ever bother to play SWTOR I'll probably spend my cartel on the 2 quickbars and be done with it. In City of Heroes there was little I wanted on the market besides enabling invention origins for 30 days and I had 4500 cash points to blow (30 day IO costed 180).

I don't expect SOE to handle hackers, they didn't do a good job of it in PS1- it took them 6 months to patch the old speedstep exploit that made you move and do things 2x fast because of a laptop speedstep BIOS feature, and there were hackers that were able to see you cloaked from 2 miles away and SOE didn't ban many.

Looks like Bioware hired some perverts in the art department... but hey I'm not complaining, those are some nice screenshots.

The IP doesn't make the product an instant hit, you could slap Elvis Presley on a curling iron box but it wouldn't sell well if the curling iron burned out in 30 minutes of use. There are lots of products out there using Nicki Minaj and all those famous names just to make the product sell but if they're trash, the famous name isn't going to help.

I remember late spring-early summer last year we told Bioware that we did NOT want a WoW clone and when they patched the game in August, we got a WoW clone. That's when I should've known what was coming, actually I only logged in twice after August, I lost interest in beta testing the game. I didn't pre-order the game, but I did buy the game at midnight release, there was a lineup outside Gamestop before 12am.

LOL bags of poop, that's what I should've done!

And if the voice storylines were so awesome, why did so many of us become spacebar junkies? After my getting to 50 with my first toon I basically spacebarred everything after that.

Anyways my thief is boring to play but when I play it I use pistol/pistol, more challenging than heartseeker-deathblossom-CnD spam. Everyone saw the pistol whip nerf coming from a million miles away, and backstab was getting abused to oblivion that it was obvious.

Take your pick.... CoD franchise, Battlefield 3, CS: GO , they are all better games.  You can boast that PS2 has bigger battlefields but I say whatever, the game has rubberbanding issues, and I could run for long, long periods of time without seeing a single enemy.

They said why they didn't add 3rd person to infantry, they're not going to change that with PS2. You can still 3rd person in vehicles.

The other part is SOE's inadequate security practice last year, since I'm outside the US my CC stored on their database was compromised and my CC company notified me and issued me a new card. They were using an outdated firewall and database system, but they publicly apologized and then a couple weeks later 3 of their other site servers were hacked... did they not check all their servers?

SWG was royally screwed up, but SOE's addition of Aftershock in PS1 was a nail in the coffin, I hated the BFR's that it made me cancel my ongoing sub I had with PS1 at the time.

Well Planetside 2 has some hope, for me there's not much on the table for upcoming games- I'm done with that shitbag BF3 game which is sad since I'm a long time BF gamer since BF1942 demo and I'm not feeling it with BF3, and I'm not even bothering with Call of Duty anymore either. There's not really any MMORPG game out there that grabs me right now so I may as well wait for ArchAge and the Repopulation, not sure if Age of Wulin will ever hit the west.

For now I'm still playing and enjoying GW2, I've been in beta PS2 for a few months but haven't put alot of time into it (maybe ~10 hours total) but I'll probably be dropping in there once in a while after release. I'll probably be playing Counter-Strike: GO occasionally too. If PS1 goes F2P I'll definitely be going back to that.

I know it is too much to ask but maybe you should do some research and you will realize that Disney got nothing to do with SWTOR. It is still very much EA for the MMO licence.

I think it's mostly due to engine limitations, if SOE can pull it off like they did with PS1 then big fights will be epic. I remember participating 300+ man fights in late beta of PS1.

MMOFPS just like Planetside 1 and World War II online were.

 More and more games now for the PC and starting to get into the quad core stuff and if you look at the specs for BF3 it is actualy higher then PS2 and yet , a TON of players play BF3 seems my system can handly PS2 with no issues what so ever, my specs

you don't need a $4000 system, hell even with a budget of 1200 bucks you could run this game no problem, what I do find funny is Everquest 2 runs like shit on my system but planet side 2 runs very very smooth even in huge battles with max settings I get 60-70 FPS.

Game studios can't always hold back on their progress because of afew people who won't upgrade their systems, I can understand where your coming from if you don't have the money , but it can be said if you don't have the money why would you buy more games in the first place that you can barely run because of your system specs?

I remember Vanguard and Age of Conan playing horribly even on newer PCs when they came out, even GTA4 ran like crap. Guild Wars 2 seems to be where that is now, the halloween patches made things worse but hopefully they'll come around to fixing the performance issues because right now it isn't touching the GPU anymore (used to before the October patches).
