SWTOR seems like a weird game now, it's more about dressing up and showing your blingbling you spent cartel$$$$ on than an actual game, even pvp is broken. The fleet is full of people just running around on a floating chair or whatnot, I went all around the galaxy with almost no one to be seen and even went over to Corellia and there was nobody at the dailies area. So is SWTOR a faction fleet hangout game now?

0 of ~500 guild members logged in besides me, 0 of ~50 friends on list logged on either, so what kind of players is SWTOR attracting now then? I didn't recognize a single name.

Same here, day 1 vet (yes I actually managed to log on for a short bit) and Defiance doesn't look interesting at all.

Why I'm put off by this game, is the Season Pass- every damn game these days has the season pass thing now even MMO's...

My play session was already low (20-30 minutes) and I'm quickly losing interest with this game now that they're adding another batch of pump action shotguns which is already wrecking infantry gameplay. They just need to hurry up with PS1 going F2P.

You can bet your funny bones that this will affect existing SW games, who knows what will happen siwht SWTOR- maybe the contract will get cut short, maybe they'll want some changes, etc.

OP just described what WoW is like, ta daaaaa Bioware/EA basicall copied WoW (and we TOLD them we didn't want a WoW copy back in beta before they changed it to a WoW copy).

And yes after F2P the servers may seem crammed, but like I said in another post, 0 of ~500 guild members online, 0 friends online and no familiar names around, they're probably mostly post-F2P players.

Sure, take a peak since it's F2P. I myself lost interest back in June and haven't looked back, I logged in twice after it went F2P only to see 0 out of ~500 members of my guild online, no familiar faces and no friends online and far fewer servers.

Even if you pay a sub, you still have to pay cartel coins for some of the things that benefit your toons, just as the above poster said, they've gone money hungry.

Defiance reminds me of Tabula Rasa, they look so identical in gameplay but for some reason Defiance doesn't grab me like Tabula Rasa did.

Planetside 2 on and off, haven't really played any games for a while now, I was playing Guild Wars 2 and a bit of the *other* SWG. I also got SimCity 2013 and can't even bother to launch it anymore, I actually uninstalled it, it's so blatantly broken.

I think my interest in playing video games is falling to 0 pretty rapidly due to the direction many new games are going in.

PvP pre CU was basically a deck of cards, whichever side got the King would win the battle, there were things that needed to be addressed pre CU that devs never came around to fixing but instead shoved the CU and NGE upon us.

There was doctor buffs that were too strong, composite armor that had 90% resist to everything and 40% to stun, other things among that. But in most pvp battles I've been in, it was a matter of how many of us had high damage weapons (ackley powerhammer, gorax bone batons, yellow cube sonic blaster and DXR6, etc) but overall pvp was lots of fun for me, I used to log on in the morning and go to Dathomir and run into a small group of overt flagged players and go at it and pick up the banana phone to call reinforcements and the fight would go on for hours (instead of minutes in the NGE). The best part of pvp was that it happened everywhere around SWG instead of focused on Restuss and we didn't have to contact the other faction to organize a time to pvp.

In the first few months (June-November 2003), pvp was mostly based between Anchorhead and Bestine, no doctor buffs existed, no enhanced weapons existed, most of us wore bone armor and some weapons didn't even exist (like the T21) but I was one of the first master bounty hunters on Lowca and managed to get a crafted scatter pistol which 1 shotted most players.

Look on Youtube and search for videos like "lost battle of Lok" or "hellaz pvp", well basically anything that comes from Lowca. Most of the videos contains Jedi, around winter-spring 2004 pvp was at its best and around winter 2004-2005 the Jedi population had taken control of pvp and that's when it started going downhill and I migrated to just hunting Jedi with BH (like I used to after they were first unlocked in Nov/Dec 2003.

Raiding player cities (ones with player faction bases) was about the most fun I've had, we pulled an all nighter once trying to take down bases but the players of that town were there to defend it and it went back and forth all night. When the devs added those static faction bases (Naboo, Crellia, Talus) it actually hurt the use of player faction bases.

I never really enjoyed pvp in the NGE, the CU was actually pretty fun but far too short lived to really remember much.

Don't forget hte absurdly enormous server lag some of the servers are getting, I'm on Matherson and I'm getting ~10 second delay on many things and turrets don't even cooldown when hitting red. I can't even bother anymore even with double xp.

I only lasted 30 minutes yesterday before logging when I realized I was being shot THROUGH hills and walls, it was a nightmare.

I only play roughly an hour a day and not everyday and I'm on one of the highest populated server Matherson, I can sense the amount of players is shrinking by the day though I have been seeing new names since the Soltech merge, I've been running with the same players since then. My previous outfit pretty much died and went off to play Chavalry so I left it and joined another and now half those guys are back to playing SWG*cough* which is what I should be doing too, I've been putting off with that game for a couple months now.

Sad that I can't get enough satisfaction to keep me playing for longer than 30-60 minutes anymore, not even the new SimCity which keeps resetting my city or preventing me from logging in, I regret even buying that game and I'm a long time huge SimCity fan... so sad.

Short TTK doesn't work in an MMOFPS, not everyone has good connection nor PC performance, I've been shot without a chance to respond many times and I have done the same to other players. In PS1, you at least had the window to respond when being shot at.

PS2 is basically a twitchfest and getting worse with the new stupid pump action shotguns (which was voted down).

Um no, I'm one of those eagerly waiting to go back to PS1, I'm not paying $20/mo station access just to play it atm and that's why no one is playing it- No other SOE game besides PS1 is worth paying $20 to play (except Everquest 2 I guess).

It was supposed to be an optimization patch, instead we get trashy stuttering fps and a bunch of changes that breaks half the game, I do like the tunnel system and new spawn rooms, that's about it.

Same here. I bought GW2 after holding off for a month for the general concensus which was still positive at the time. I regret the purchase everytime I try to play it (it seems I'm reinstalling every couple of weeks only to get a level and uninstall all over again). Even with all it's new features I prefer GW1 over 2, but I'm afraid it may be shut down sooner rather than later.

It's good to see a lot of people are coming back and enjoying themselves in this thread, though. A nice change of tone from the usual forum posts here.
