Anguash / Pet Worlock is rocking right now for me. He's been ripping things up big. Hope it helps!

Heroes can start at level 10 and villains can get it at level 30.

Heroes talk to Montague Castanella in Steel Canyon University. You will run his missions before you gain access to the Midnighter Club Zone.

Villains will contact Ashley McKnight in Cap. She is standing outside one of the university buildings. Same thing, you'll run her missions before you gain access to the Midnighter Club Zone.

When you finally have access to the club, you'll find a fire / ice stone that will take you to Cimerora. Follow the mission from the former senator and you'll have all you need to join into future Imperious Task Force runs.

They are forming quite a lot, so just read the broadcasts and see who is inviting for the next ITF.

Good Luck!

I have been playing a Robot / Traps Master Mind. I started him in April and as of 6/9/2008 he has made level 38. I have played mostly solo and found that the bots do extreemly well. Traps has two attacks that do very well with bots and those are Acid Morters and Poision Traps. PT will hold mobs while AM will drop their defenses. Once you pick up the second upgrade power, your little army of robots can do some serious damage and allow you to run at much more difficult levels. I am now facing level 40 Bosses and having no problems.

What ever you decide to pick up, I know you'll have fun with it. Good Luck !

One thing to remember when you solo. There are going to be mobs that your character may not be able to defeat unless you bring along inspirations to help offset your weaknessness. If fighting a villain using holds and immobs, you may want to stock up on breakfree inspirations to keep these effects from stopping you. If damage is a problem for you, take some rage inspirations in to boost your damage for a bit. If a mob can blind you or reduce your accuracy bring along some accuracy inspirations.

When teaming, you may still need these, but buffing and damage and hold reductions may be powers fellow teammates will have to help keep the team going.

Just remember, when you meet a new villain group for the first time, you make take a few face plants until you understand what each group is going to do to you and how you can avoid it. Once you get to know the mobs, taking them down will be much easier and you'll be prepared for their attacks.

Dominators are also on CoV. Granted their pets are limited to their final level 32.

Controllers are the same as Dominators on the Heroes side again obtaining the pet at 32 unless you're an Illusion Troller which you get Phantom Army at 18.

Hope it helps !

They worked real hard on the gaming matrix. It evolved into what it is now, a few issues back. I remember the first time I saw it in game and thought how it gave the game a real feel. They keep tweeking it now and then to fix some of the little "glitches", but over all, it's still one of the best I've seen EVER....

If you belong to a SG/VG, there's also the mentoring and leadership roles that you can step into. Sure, you'll have sidekicks/lackeys along the way, but in the 45-50 range, you can do some serious farming and helping out your lowbie SG/VG members. And the former leaders are often burnt out and more than happy to hand over the reins to someone else.

There are also costume contests to hold.

Good Point. SG/VG activities can become a large part of your end game play....

Hi all.  I subbed up last summer and played for a few months.  I was thoroughly impressed with the character creation screen and liked the feel of the game but got bored rather quickly.  I got sick of killing the same bad guys over and over.  It's been a while since I last played and I was thinking of re-upping.

Can anyone tell me what the state of the game is?  Has it improved much in the last year, and is it worth another go?

Thanks all.

I ask if you were still playing during the Issue 11 release. New content had been introduced. But the general premiss of killing bad guys is going to continue throughout the entire game. It's what heroes do. The main play of the game is mission running and story arc completion while removing threats and bad guys along the way. There are other dynamics within the game that provide relief such as Super Group events, Costume Contest, Dance Parties and NCSoft sponsored events such as Christmas Gifts and Holloween Events. There is badge hunting and enhancement crafting as well.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "same" bad guys, as different groups are introduced as you level. However, if you have leveled and are working on additional characters and leveling them, then I see where that would be "The Same". I really feel that the game is what you take from it. If you are a mission and task force type of person, the game is real strong in those areas. If you are looking for new content, it's rather limited if you have explored all the areas and ran every mission in the story arcs and every task force. They only release new issues about once a year. The real change in the game is the player interaction with other players. There is where you can make the game anything you want, within reason. Events, socials, base raids, PvP and other interactions will play very heavy in this area.

I hope it helps a bit. Sadly, each person is going to judge the game differently. I've been playing for 4 years and still find it exciting and fresh.

If I remember the story line correctly. Lady Liberity is his daughter.

Actually, I believe she is Statesman's granddaughter.

I don't think he's going to die.  He's plastered throughout the high end of the game too much and it would cause the loss of a lot of good quests.

Oh, I think you are correct. Thanks for the correction.

I've been asked to join in on farm teams and I have been asked to fill to beef up a team for a solo runner, but I've found it's been a few of the same and I have just put them on global ignore. I do get "real" group invites as well. I get them even if I'm already running with a group. I am mainly on Champion but also have an sg on Protector. I've never had a problem finding people to team up with. The Super Group is another great resource too. If you can join a super group that runs people, it would be a good deal to get into. If you're already in a super group, and they don't run a lot, or they run at odd times when you're not on, change sg's and get into one willing to team and run missions and task force runs. There are many of these groups on each of the servers. Take a bit of time and look for them. They'll be a huge bonus to your game experience.

Thank you for the reply. I've had only one invite friend and that was my brother. Who wanted to play anyway, so it worked out to my advantage. But as of late, he's been trying to get some free time by sending out the invites. I just wanted to put a warning out to him if there were going to be problems from NCSoft for doing it if it falls in the hands of spammers.

I'll just sit back and watch what happens. If he's kicked off, I know why. If not, good for him. I'll still crush his little Dominator with my Tank Every Time ! ! ! !    Muha ha ha ha...

   Dumb question here...

If I sent someone an invite back code and they turn out to be one of those companies that do either the e-mail or in-game spamming and are reported. Will CoX follow it back to me and give me greif and wanting to know if I'm involved or ask how I am associated with the person I invited back?

I just wonder how many players will watch in-game ads, and hence how effective these ads are.

Shhh do not tell the ad agencies.  If they are subsidizing the development team, double win for us.

The good news is, advertising agencies are getting pretty desperate and have been for years. At least since VCRs came into the home.

Who really watches ads on TV anyway? Good time to pee, get a drink, play with the dog.... that's if you're not already fast-forwarding right past them.

And now people are downloading television content online that's completely ad free!!!!

Those poor desperate bastards will now slap an ad on anything they can.

If you think about it, Kids have been wearing ads for years. On hats, shirts, pullovers, shoes and even their underwear hanging out of their pants. They've been putting ads all over the place.

I can tell you all the good things I enjoy in the game, and they may be the things you hate the most. I'd say, take them up on the free 14 day trial and see for yourself. The learning curve is simple enough as you can load right up into the tutorial and run it in less than an hour. I have 4 years of playing this game and I have watched it mature since beta. It is getting ready to expand once again and I am very excited about it. Give it a try, there is no cost to you and if you don't like it, no money lost.
