I'm guilty, but I dó always apologize to the gay friends I have when saying it. I simply can't and don't really have the urge to, get rid of "omg that's gay". Freedom of speech ftw.

Well, that's pretty clear then isn't it :) By definition I'm an intolerant son of a bitch. That's fine with me, because it means the flappy handwaving showy gays stay away from me. My vision of normal, is to be moderate on both sides of the fence. I prefer staying away from the extreme end of my hetero side as well.

Diablo 1 & Diablo 2 were the two dumbest things I've ever saw that had the guts to call themselves videogames. No matter what, bashing two bricks together is more fun and requires more concentration than Diablo. It's an insult to call these games RPG or action RPG because it has nothing to do with any actual roleplaying. I hope the developers will rot in hell for it and we will never see any more crap games like that in the future. But I guess it won't happen. No more Planescape Torment, no more Fallout, no more Arcanum but instead the same hack and slash shit, because that's what masses want.

obviously not got anything better to do than troll.

daiblo 1 and 2 were 2 of the best games ever made and have continued to be extremely popular even years after their release. I will look at this game if its anything close to diablo but nothing will come close to the original. better luck next time, you prob play consoles anyway QQ

No this is radicilous. I was playing Ishar dungeon RPG's and Eye of Beholders decades before Diablo ever touched the light. I never used a bloody console. Diablo is not a RPG. It's a silly hack and slash with character development. It's nowhere near old dungeon RPG games like Pool of Radiance, Menzoberranzan, Dungeon Hack or whatever. Those were real action RPG games. And you don't really want to compare Diablo to regular RPG like Baldur's Gate, Fallout or Planescape Torment don't you?

Does it matter, if people find the game fun ? gaming is about fun you know, not about hating it. So when you hate it, don't play, keep it to yourself and accept that there are people with a different opinion.

I had to post in reply to this. Now for the record I am not gay, however I have many friends who are and family members. And it is this type of attitude that I have seen in people that has put them in the hospital before....... So, yes the OP is trying to find a guild of like minded people.... The purpose of this is so that he does not need to be in a guild with people like Aristea.... Hell more often than not I'de rather be in GLBT guild than most guilds, they are more tolerant, friendly, and generally open minded good people.

You misunderstood my point. I've had 2 gay friends and I still have a friend who might turn out to be gay, judging by his voice :P So basically I'm a gay magnet, but we have agreements about that. Don't "turn gay"on me. Which means, don't go wobble the hands , don't fling arms wildly in the air and say something that sounds so utterly gay I just HAVE to slap my hand in front of my eyes.

There's a difference between being gay and showing off that you are a gay gay guy. I don't like the latter. The others can sit next to me and we can share soda...or beer.

Besides, I'm Dutch, like thé gay country of the world -_-

You're making the OP's point.  Hes looking for a group of like minded people where he can be himself without the worries of someone getting offended because theyre straight.

your comments are exactly the reason people like this feel the need to isolate themselves.  Your basically asking people to not be themselves in your presence because you find it offensive.  The OP is basically asking for a community where he can be himself (or being gay as you put it) without offending people such as yourself.

Well I'm sorry mate, but a homosexual that goes ultra fucking gay on me, yes I do have a problem with that. Which has nothing to do with being intolerant, but with the fact that gay people can act normal. Normal in the sense that normal is controled. As in, talk, walk, listen and respond normally. If you want to be the girly gay guy with the giggles, you are faking it and you should gtfo.

I've played Ragnarok online for 2 years with a gay guy and we got along quite well. He was a normal guy guy, who liked to make jokes about the size of his friends penis and we all had a laugh about it, with accompanying puke sounds ;)

If you can't handle the way I deal with gay people, that's not my problem, but in my world, it works perfect.

If I have a problem with black people, a problem with straight people or with women...do you think I am going to invade their thread and say they suck , or if I know /hear people in a game say "OMG...go die you ****"

No, I leave them be

You have a problem though.

Actually in this situation would the problem not be yours? It is not another person responsibility to ensure that you are ok with them. It is your responsibility to let them know when you are uncomfortable. And Generally politely is the good way.

You see, I don't mind that you are gay, as long as you aren't gay in my face. The issue with MMO's, is that often, between the retard kiddo's and the emo crybabies, being gay in barrens chat, might actually be in my face. Doing it over Ventrilo is even worse.

I'm not saying you can't be gay, but I don't see black people going out of their ways to make contact with other black people either. The only ones that still do that are the Germans and the French...

Actually almost every culture tries to find like minded people to team up with. I've seen German, French, Spanish, etc guilds formed based on language and so on. And while I cannot say that a black person might go out of their way to find a guild of black people it is not quite the same thing. Specialized guilds are generally based on language, religious beliefs, and in this case sexual preference. The reason for this is simply because it is nice to be able to relate with the people you game with. These are friendships you are building.

So just be yourself and don't "turn gay" on ventrilo and you'll be fine everywhere..if you want to have voip sex with a gay guy, I dó recommend you to keep it outside my visual and hearing.

"Turn Gay?", is this like some gay switch? I am fairly certain that this has nothing to do with the OP "Wanting to have VoIP sex with a gay guy" give me a break. I see that you made some attempt to remain mature through this.... but this last part just killed it. Perhaps you need to stop being so phobic, and realise that people have other beliefs/preferences than you. and that you are not suddenly going to catch "gay".

Thanks for the replies , I think I'm going with the link I posted. I'm aware some might think Asus gives you too much for too much money, but I'm not looking to change to a different producer, I'm sticking to Asus. Asus never failed to work.
And no SLI, I'm not really into that. In my opinion it serves no actual purpose.

O_o

I ask that too.

SLi is the only upgrade people have, if they already got top of the line systems. So yes, it does serve a purpose.

True ..I'd be able to play Crysis on max maybe, but only to find out again, that the gameplay sux underneath those graphical ambitions :)

What I meant in terms of "doesn't serve a purpose", is that even with my 3 year old pc, I can play most games released today. Given, this pc was an above average monster back then "too", but still.

At Billie..laptop and gaming..just.. no

I've had three Gigabyte mobo's in the past, they all broke.

It's something like , you eat what you eat and you drink what you drink. It grows on you. Asus doesn't fail me.

Made a mistake though, the p5e3 is a DDR3 mobo only, typically a mistake for me to make .

My future (Februari) setup :

Memory : 4Gig Kingston DDR2 RAM (2x2gb) @ 800mhz.
1TB Diskspace : Western Digital 2x 500GB (nonraid)
Videocard : Either an Asus 8800GTX or a 9800GTX, depends on release times and ..money.
CPU : E8400 Intel Dual Core @ 3ghz 1333fsb, 6mb cache, smaller sized, uses less power compared to the E6850 and can be overclocked amazingly well on aircooling. It's also cheaper than the E6850.
MotherBoard :  (Well tbh, motherboards are pretty open to debate still )
Powersupply : Corsair HX620 620 Watt, 24-pins.
Case : Cooler Master Stacker 832.
CPU Cooler : Zalman CPU Cooler CNPS9700NT.

My question relates to the Motherboard. There is a large selection of motherboards available and I'm honestly not sure which to pick, when 5 of them range in the same price class (€200-€250) and they all more or less have the same stats.

I'd prefer answers from people that know something, not from people that don't, or think they do but deep down know they don't. Thank you very much.

Most guilds are nothing more than a bunch of people that get together out of necessity that would never bother with each other in the real world. Im ok with that. We all use each other for whatever piece of loot we are looking for. I never pretend for a second that these people are my friends. The mutual using system works for me.

Your kind is practically why so many guilds are only shells. It's all about me me me me and oh dear if something doesn't go the way you want. I feel pity for people that see others as disposables, no matter the distance between.

I'm going to be buying WAR and Chronicles of Spellborn. I'm going to stick to the one I like the most. In case I like them both equal, I'm going to cut down on one of my other payed games, like HG:L and EVE.

FRIENDS are these guys, who help you carry your furniture to your new appartement.
All you know is some VIRTUAL mates in a parallel community.

That may be true. However in this new age of global technology the lines have become more fuzzy. Although it may be true that players you meet are not tangible for everyday circumstances, I recall when one player had a significant loss of property because of  theft, the guild all chipped in and raised enough money for replacing some items that were lost (including a TV). Hell, a lot of my RL friends wouldnt have done that.

To me, a definition of a friend is someone who enjoys your company and cares enough about you that they want you to be happy. Perhaps thats helping move your furniture, perhaps thats spending 4 hours of thier time helping you farm a mat or level an alt. perhaps its giving you 100 gold. Whatever the case , it isnt the action that makes it friendship...its the sentiment.

Now, as for how to meet good folks online. Well, in general its basically like RL. You have to go out and interact. IN MMORPG terms that means grouping. When you find someone who seems friendly, just throw them on your in game friends list and  keep in contact with them. If you group with them enough you will come in contact with friends they know and become aquainted with them.

Not to sound too much like the school councilor, but just Be yourself...unless your a complete jerk. In that case a little deception can go a long way.

And when all else fails....Level a female toon.

Torrential

This pretty much sums it up I'd say :)

The Witcher is a good RPG that came out about two months ago.  It has a great storyline and excellent combat system as well.

Yes I love trying to get as much virtual pixel sex as possible, with added pornographic cards!...not.

Caesar, what I meant with full list of this year, is that you can find all the released games in there. The page I l linked to probably only accesses 1 or 2 months.

I pay for games when they earn to be payed for. So I'd say, release a truely high quality game and get me to pay. I want to pay, don't release crap and make us both happy ^^

Also, with good games I meant gameplay. Crysis is a graphics game with teh suck gameplay and even worse AI.

Another edit : I think the Orange box was ripped too tbh..

In theory, the only thing stopping off the console wars, would indeed be the price you have to put on the table for them. But it's fighting the human nature, that wants things to be easily accessible and doesn't care for prices too much, untill a "red line" is hit. The problem is, where is that red line..

No it's not a warez site.

Second, I agree some nice games were released, but they still shatter in sight of the massive releases the consoles get. The Witcher is mediocre anyways (that is, note, my own opinion, I'm aware most people actually do like it) The way I see it, all the console games get so many games, that there's always something to do for everyone. PC games you really have to wait and see if released games fit your style.

But than again, Crysis sucks, Bioshock is okish, TFT2 is probably the best release of the bunch, but is again, a shooter.

As I said, Shooters mostly still get released on PC, but what else is there to anticipate ?

<Mod edit>
Over the past years, there has been a significant increase in console -games and -gamers. In the past, the PC was nearly the only powerhouse available(compare the release of D3D to the SNES), so producers of games almost automatically had to make a choice between two platforms. In the year 2007 , there are pretty much 5 platforms available and the PC seems to be running into a dead end.
Between "My little Pony" and "The Sims", occasionally a shooter, RPG or MMO get released, but most of them crashland the day of release.
Hellgate London. I play it, I pay it, I personally love it, but I'm not blind enough to not see the fact that their release was rushed, buggy and lacked an awful amount of planning and actual gameplay.
Unreal Tournament 3 seems to be an insult to the high speed action gamer and that resulted in disastrous sales over the past month(s).
Universe At War Earth Assault. It's supposed to be in line with Starcraft. I'm not sure which idiot told them to write that on their PR billboard, but it's not even close. It's fun enough to last you a week, but after that it'll join the dustbin, on the bottom. Carmageddon 2 is still on top.
Spaceforce Captains, a turnbased strategy game. I love tbs's. I play every single one tha gets released and I replay them at least once a year. This game however, has a fixed resolution of 1024x768 and crashes every possible way any moment you don't want it to crash. Another rushed game that might've been worth my attention, but simply isn't ready for it yet.
The above games are only a grab from the last month(s) and are not supposed to prove any point. They are there to give more meaning to the feeling I'm starting to have. I play PC. I love RPG's so I should be playing Playstation, but I simply can't stand consoles. In fact, I'm damn sure all that eyecandy would still look best on a PC, so it simply has to be commerce thats forcing producers to produce for less compromiseable (or rather, rippable) solutions.
I have absolute 0 friends that have never seen a ripped game. In fact, I'd say most of them play only ripped games at the moment. Cause and effect is, I believe, a quote from the Matrix, but also applies to this situation. The immense load of crap that has been coming out year after year after year has resulted in me personally only paying for games I like playing. I only know what I like to play, untill I tried it. As a result, I find myself never buying games anymore, with few exceptions, and only trying them by downloading them.
So in effect of bringing out crap and more crap, the game industry recieves less and less money and decides to relocate to more profitable platforms, leaving the PC gamer in the cold, with the occasional port to PC. If producers would make a good game, I would buy it! I have 5 copies of Diablo II, I've had several of Unreal tournament. I have 2 copies of Starcraft and many many more that have been worth paying for.
The steady decline in quality, will eventually completely kill off PC gaming. The only future that's left, is one filled with bad MMO's, most of them Cash shop.
I'll buy Starcraft II, I'll buy WAR and I'll buy Chronicles of Spellborn. That's the only three games I can see myself buying the coming year, regardless of what's coming out and that's a sad sad perspective.

I love playing with women, but I absolutely can't cope with them in a leadership role. Women don't stop to breathe when they take punches and they lack an immense amount of self-critique, completely disabling any discussion concerning their performance, where men at least listen to the feedback.

How do I know ? I've had several WoW guilds with female leaders. Needless to say, we didn't get along.

I have different expectations for an FPS game than I do for an MMORPG.  I play both of them for different reasons.

And really, so far, there hasn't been a solid (my opinion) FPS + MMO game on the market.  Maybe this will be the first one?  But FPS games do their job well.  MMO's do their job well.  I know the logic is "if both game markets are booming, let's be the one's to bridge the gap".  They want to tap into the market that they don't believe has been tapped into yet:  the fps console group.  I get it.   But really, they will lose players like myself who like to 'keep them seperated'.

It's not FPS.
