If Tabula Rasa didn't have a back story that precludes human vs human pvp on a large scale it might be fun. To me, it's utterly immersion breaking imaging smacktards running zone to zone trying to find other smacktards wanting PvP duels, especially since the zones will be instanced. I can also imagine those same smacktards duel invite spamming because they are bored and cannot find anyone to duel with, so I have to either add them to my limited ignore list or put up with their duel request popping up over and over. I will venture that griefplay will be a factor in this game as soon as the paid player base starts getting bored.

It really did, it changed the game dynamic from lightweight fun to worrying about if you were kill stealing . The mob situation with the named and quest mobs was pretty ridiculous, I tried to get those overseers about 20 times until I just leveled past the quest and was able to come back and out damage the other people squatting on the spawns. I think we all know having to OD to get quest mobs and spawns is a great way to make friends and influence people...
There wasn't a huge group dynamic to begin with, but the changes in XP as of 7/24 made it so that players were actively avoiding each other so they could keep full XP on all kills.
The end result is that the game is much more of a single player type environment with little or no reason for pick up type group play.
I felt like I was playing Unreal "The Awakening" with the big difference being that I had to take careful aim in that game and in TR it was just tab target hold down mouse button.
I'm glad some folks like it, I wanted to like it a lot and I'm pretty angry that NCsoft has allowed Richard Garriott to take them for a great big ride only to end up with a game that really feels like Auto Assault on foot.
Just my opinion.

I used a couple shotguns and a couple rocket launchers to mitigate damage types. Only bothered with a couple logos, rage was really all that was needed. Rerolled a few times, even more boring than the soldier class.
If one desperately needs an excuse to play an online video game then I guess Tabula Rasa fills that need but to me it just feels like an Unreal Tournament mod for kids that cannot aim. |

Originally posted by Pyrostasis LOL, that list is wrong. He had absolutely nothing to do with Lineage and only a tiny bit to do with one of the chronicle updates in Lineage II North America. Those games were both developed in Korea. And he had very little to do with CoH/CoV. If any of those games were his to claim then his name would be all over them. His only real claim to fame is Ultima and that candle burnt out a while ago. |

Impressions from someone who just joined open beta

Originally posted by Devildog1 The beta closes in 10 days. What are they going to fix in 10 days that they haven't been able to fix in all the months it has been in beta ?
Answer: not much. |

Originally posted by maskedweasel The quote comes from one of the interviews with "Cuppa Jo", go look it up yourself there aren't that many articles about the game. |

Originally posted by maskedweasel I highly encourage people to try the game so that more can realize what a piece of garbage it is before they waste any money on it. The overwhelming opinion in the majority of gamer forums is that Crapula Crasha is not worth anything more than a quick $5.00 playthough with the preorder. I hope all 150 subscribers have a wonderful time before the game is flushed like Auto Assault. |

LOL, fanboy takes the cheap shot because he's got nothing better. You worry about your little failure of a life, I'll worry about mine. :) And the buzz about the game is that it is crap with three or four rabid fans clinging to it as it descends into the toilet.

I got to level 25 in just a few hours of play and it was exactly the same at level 25 as it was at level 10. Kill the same mobs at level 25 as level 5. Collect the same crap in quests. Boring half finished single player game with no substance and no reason to build a community. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||
Originally posted by Oculitus That's the exact truth. Kinda fun for the first few hours but I couldn't find enough in the game to make me actually want to log in after that. I encourage people to save their money because the game is just not worth paying for. It will be in the bargain bin not too long after launch. |

Originally posted by tmr819 Do yourself a favor buy a good single player game. If you are good at video games, at all, you will get bored with Crapula Crasha in about a week and it has about ZERO replayability. Group mechanisms in the game are almost nonexistent. It's so weak that in an interview they said that teleporters and a chat system were some of the main features of the game that made it fun. |

what's your score on current version of TR ?

You can still find the 404 link to the article here: http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/biz/2007/09/123_10317.html
It was stated in the article that "NCsoft had spent Hundreds of Billions of won over the last 6 years and were desperate for the game to be a big success"
100 billion Korean won = over 100 million US dollars.
The game is a piece of crap moneypit that Richard Garriott has used to ripoff NCsoft Korea. NCsoft will be swallowed by SoE in less than 2 years, Crapula Crasha is going to ruin them. |

Don't waste your time it's 3gb download just to play a half finished game. By level 15, which you can do easily in one night if you are a decent gamer, the game totally craps out and all you do is wash rinse repeat killing the same mobs over and over and over and there isn't even an end game. It's a piece of poo. |

[Mod Edit] Place holder text all over the game and there is 10 days until they shut down the beta. It's a pitiful unfinished single player shoot em up that looks like it was put together by some amateurs and it sure as hell is not worth a subscription. Too many good games coming out to waste any money on Crapula Crasha. |

What Tabula Rasa needs fixed if its going to be a game worth playing
General Discussion « Tabula Rasa 10/01/07 8:51:35 PM
In light of the amazing amount of quality games coming out in the next couple months Crapula Crasha is not worth wasting any money on. It's like a cheesy single player game you buy in the bargain bin because the box looked cool and you only had $4.99 in your pocket. My eyes popped out of my head when I read that Richard Garriott had milked NCsoft for over 100 million dollars to make it. The article has been taken offline because it's embarrassing the Koreans that they got ripped off so badly.
