I'm going to chime in, because I am American, I've played a lot of MMOs, I am playing chinese Aion, and well, I am the Angry Guild Leader, after all. The game is great. It is just enough WOW to suck in the people who are on the morphine drip of Blizzard, and then it says, "Ha ha! I screwed you! Now I am Final Fantasy, Lotro, Vanguard, and EQ!" Which it is, with wings. It is fresh, and so far steals the best from all of the other MMOs. It's not been in release long, so you can't look at it as the greatest MMO ever. You have to look at it as a baby that will grow, and if you do, it's the best thing since WOW first came out. It's the first time I am addicted again and enjoying myself. I'm not even sold on the game yet (because I did the Lotro thing where we go to 50, got all the world first kills then twiddled our thumbs), but I will tell you, my raiding guild is wondering where I am half the time. I will not like it if I have to fly while raiding, but that's probably just something to get used to. This game is just fun. But not fun as in WOW. Wow has been watered down and saturated. Now hard content is nerfed within 6 months so that your retarded cousin can get gear, and if he can't then you can fish for badges to turn in for epic loot (exaggeration). If this game is tank and spank, I will be disappointed, but there are buffs, dispels, and the like, so hopefully raiding will be interesting.. If they forget the PVE in this game when they've designed something so wonderful, yes, it will flop in the US. While it's fun and great, and I could go on and on (and I will at angryguildleader.com and on MMORPG.com) it does have it's problems. Crafters are complaining that the system is far too easy and cheap (and may be), and the interface is horrid in some spots. The guild interface is the worst I've seen since WOW. It's as bad a Lotro's guild interface. In fact, Lotro's is better, which is really really bad for Aion. Also, the auction house is the most abysmal, simplistic thing I've ever seen and you can only list 15 items. This will NEVER fly in the US with people who play WOW and EQ2 just to play the auction house. If you can only list 15 items, you just killed a core part of your audience. That being said, it has these and other issues, but it is the most polished released I've seen since Lotro (yes, Lotro's launch was far better than Blizzard's trainwreck launch).

A game will not survive without an economy, and if you limit it to 15, it will die. Vanguard did this. Big mistake. Wow doesn't, and look at the people who list 400+ a day. My wife doesn't even raid anymore, she plays the auction house and makes 25k a week. That''s her fun. If you don't open up crafting and economy to players, you lose a big market.

Just FYI they aren't working. Someone grabbed them. Next time I would suggest PMs. You don't know if gold farmers or just greedy asses just got those keys.

Wow, you must be playing a different game. I have run small guilds, large guilds, guilds with world kills, and I have played every MMO out there (with the exception of FF) and I have to say, this is the best community, hands down. I have never been in a more nurturing, nice, courteous and helpful community.

Thousands came over after AOC failed release and now they are giving a free month, and we've gotten even more. The word is we have new devs too, as GU6, the new character models, the new raid zone, new flying mount, and trial isle are all coming out together around end of August / beginning of sept. Our whole guild left AOC for Vanguard, and we couldn't be happier, and this is a guild with world first kills in other games, not just 10 casual people who work together.

Everyone is leaving AOC for Vanguard anyway. Yes, Vanguard. Forget what you know about the game, it's come a long way. Read the blogs, the posts, the sites. It's crazy. Hell, look at curse.com Vanguard is the third most popular MMO atm
