Just counted it. Just buggy. Keep trying.

Clicking vote does nothing, no results, didn't give anything except www.mmorpg.com/#

It has yet to accept my vote.

Vote button not working here

The only person I am interested in reading any longer is Danny. He's apparently the only objective person in the bunch and tells it like it is. While I typically stray from calling people fanbois, 9/10 on a game with abysmal support, numerous bugs, the worst auction house in the universe (no pun intended), etc. is just well... being a fanboi.

It's a good game. Don't get me wrong, 9/10? That's not journalism.

As long as you follow the basic rules (which is pretty standard for most forums), the RIFT forums are pretty damn liberal.

Who are we?

Suspiria is a Defiant guild on the Alsbeth server. I think it's safe to say without breaking the NDA that our guild was one of the first brought into the first phase of alpha, and that is all we will or can say.

A little history. When the first raid zone, Helegrod, was opened in Lotro, Turbine claimed no one would complete the instance in 9 months. As The Covenant, we cleared it in 2 hours. We have world firsts in Lotro, as well as decent success in World of Warcraft including some server firsts as members of Rampage on Turalyon. We are a group of adults who have played together 4 years + and collectively we have played Daoc, WoW, CoH, Vanguard, Lotro, Warhammer, EQII, etc. We will be making Rift our home.

In Rift Alpha,  Suspiria was one of the few guilds clearing Tier 2 content and was invited to Rift to test raid content.

We have an established leadership core that have played together at the highest level for over four years, and many of our members have pushed through to the the cusp of available content with us during our endeavors. All of our raiders put forth the time and effort to fully maximize their character and performance as we hold a passion for aggressive PvE progression. We are knowledgeable and devoted players who enjoy raiding at the highest level.

We do not recruit for the bench and always strive to maintain a stable roster of 30-33 people. If your application is accepted, you will be expected to start raiding immediately if you can perform.

If you would like more information, you can PM me here. I will be happy to give you our Teamspeak information, as someone should be on (if not myself) all day long.

Our new website is under development at www.suspiriaguild.com and is not near completed, therefore the best way to reach us is here, by TS, or via emailing guildleader@facebook.com

I will be happy to provide TS info if you wish to chat. Couples are welcome and encouraged to apply/contact us.

You can also reply in this thread and I will get the TS info to you.

If excel in your play style, you like to joke around and have a good time, and have no tolerance for *** hats, then we just might be the new home you've been looking for. Our ages range from 21 to beyond. If you are into min/max, seeing all content, and being the best, then come play with your peers.

We will look at any individual and soul/calling, including DPS. However,  we currently have a high need for:

Bard
Dominator
Archon (1 spot)
Purifier
Warden (filled)
Inquisitor
Shaman (1 spot)
Riftstalker Tank (filled)

If you are applying for one of the classes above, we do not care if you level up as another soul, as long as this is the intended role you plan to play in a raid environment.  Again, we will look at, and are interested in other souls who have extensive experience, but these are our primary needs at the moment. If you see a class is filled and you still believe you are one helluva player, contact us.

We try not to have attitudes, and we shy from talking trash in trade channels. We like to be the silent guild that gets things done, and when folks walk by they whisper our name. Wherever we go, whether we're #1 or #5, we will be on top. But due to our lifestyles and schedules, this means working twice as hard as everyone else.

At the moment, I can say that Wed and Thrs nights will definitely be raid nights at approx 6pm PST. We are working out the rest in regards to additional days (only one to two). We have members who are East Coast, West Coast, and everywhere in between. We welcome those from Canada, Europe, and Australia, as well if you have a schedule that requires an odd time and we fit the bill.

We have many creative folks, some of whom even run gaming websites, so if creativity runs in your blood, you're just what we're looking for.

About You

We're looking for dedicated players that are in it for the long haul. We desire people who are enthusiastic about their class and learn quickly while adjusting on the fly. Being proficient, willing, and able to mesh well with our environment are characteristics of high priority.

You are not someone who is going to jump seven guilds at the start of Rift to get ahead in the game and think they know who to take advantage of to be in the best guild on the server. You have the perseverance to stay in the guild until we reach that pinnacle.

You should also be intelligent, reliable, skilled, experienced, dedicated and most importantly a team player in a progression-minded environment.

What We Expect from You

* Solid knowledge of class, mechanics, and game (within time)

* Applicants should be prepared to start raiding immediately once we are capable of doing so.

* As we are a high-end raiding guild, applicants should be gearing and preparing themselves enough to compete at a high level. Experience with achievements/hard mode encounters in other games is a must.

* We do not require you to have addons if any are release, but you are required to be aware of your DPS/Healing output.

* Ability to attend all raid days on a regular basis, with no major recurring conflicts. We don't recruit for the bench. We keep a small roster and need people who can keep 90%+ attendance.

* Teamspeak (yes, we know, but it has less latency), and a working mic. Listening and speaking (at least to convey time-sensitive raid information) are both required.

* A good attitude towards raiding and other players. Members are expected to bring their "A game" to raids every night, not take excessive AFKs, follow instructions, and so on.

* A focus on progression. As a guild, our eyes are always on where we're going next, not where we've been. We move older content aside in favor of unkilled bosses and unfinished achievements, and push finished instances aside as soon as they're no longer worth completeing for progression reasons. If your goal is to farm old instances or "easy mode" bosses, this is not the guild for you.

* A sense of humor. We're rough around the edges, largely uncensored, and critical of each other. We make jokes at each other's expense, and give out constructive, but often blunt criticism when mistakes are made for the good of the raid. If you are easily offended by such things, you will not feel at home here.

* Please note, special characters in names are highly frowned upon if allowed in Rift. It is highly recommended that you change your name if you transfer to play with us.

You are aware that Blizzard themselves made 'StarJeweled', a mod that turns Starcraft 2 into a Bejeweled version of Starcraft, right?  Along with several other mods that completely change the gametype (Including a co-op survival game called Left 2 Die?  Which seems suspiciously close to ANOTHER game's title, yet Valve never got around to sending them a cease and desist.  Speaking of which, they also made 'Blizzard DoTA', when Valve owns the copyright to DoTA.  Huh.  So asshattery is okay if it's Blizzard, but not if you're an independent modder?)?  To show people that it can be done, and encourage people to do other things like that?

There are mods that make SC2 a turn based JRPG style game, and a kart racer, and Blizzard/Activision are fully aware they exist.

You really don't have the slightest idea about the SC2 mod tools, do you?  Are you just making up stuff to make yourself sound smarter or something?

I think everyone is missing the point, and you are almost making it here. They are working on Starcraft Universe no matter what they've told you in the past, and this just pissed them. It's Activision mostly.

Man this gets old.. with every new mmo that comes out it somehow has something that World Of Warcraft does not have. It well smash WOW.  People see some video, play a beta and KNOW its going to be the best mmo ever.  Then 30days after launch says it all and these people are no where to be found.

Rift is fun. Been playing in all the betas. Grouping? A so far lol its not what people are doing in game. The grouping that goes on is for rifts that last 1-3 mins at best. If you ever played Warhammer you will feel right at home. Rift is fun but it will never be in the top 10 (so to speak) of MMOS. If you like it buy it. It has a easy to follow path you cant get lost. You do the same things leveling all the way up. Rifts open and are fun to do I just wish most of them lasted alot longer.

Then join a guild and stop being antisocial if you want a group. THAT is what Wow has done to mmorpgs. It has destroyed guilds, and this last attempt recently to fix that hasn't worked. You now just have a core group of people not more than 25 in a guild who talk and are active and the rest just sit there and give points and use them. I've never seen so many people not talking in WoW before. And it's not just our guild, which is a raiding guild that has casuals. All my alts are in different guilds. It's crickets.

Guilds in Wow are now 10 people who raid, and if there are more, just quiet people who do their thing. It's a one player game now for the most part aside from dungeon finder, and considering Rift has assimilated everything else on the planet (and some even within the last few days), you don't think they aren't working on that feature?

You seem like you don't know much about the game, so let me try to clear up some things, as your post will either mislead people with disinformation, or it's possible others believe these things, most of which are completely off base.

and much like young and hot you use them once or twice and you dump them becuase of how shallow and boring they become.

Lets see rifts are repetitive.

Yes and no. They are Rifts over and over, but there are different types. Not only that, different kinds of loot drop from them. Secondly, the mobs in them can be random and different. There are also heroic Rifts. They become more and more important as the game progresses, and I am sure will become even more important (the name of the game is Rift).

Little reason for alts as almost one class can be everything.

This is not true. I can't go into much detail, but I am already in a situation where I will need two mages because of various combinations. People in alpha were already complaining about only having the few slots for chars that we do. Another example of possibly needing more than one char is rogues, which can be ranged or melee. Even so, four characters is plenty, especially if you don't plan to PvP.

Due to the number of souls people will roll on every weapon because one combination of there soul will be able to use it.

This is where I don't think you understand the soul system. You cannot be a rogue with mage souls, or a warrior with cleric souls. Therefore your calling will only use particular weapons. In fact, there are classes in WoW that will have more probs than this.

Tiny zones and small world.

You have apparently not played the game. This is completely false.

While the soul Idea is kinda of cool it will defiantly detract from grouping and make soloing easier, which an mmorpg should not really be about.

Again, I am guessing you have not played this game at all, and if you have not past level 15. Not sure of the current state, but at one time, regular dungeons in this game were as hard as heroics are now in WoW. So chew on needing a good group for heroics in Rift. Also, people will group for Rifts and quests. There are quests and world mobs in which you will need help. Trust me.

Same starting zones so if you do do an alt, you can to follow the same linear path.

This is something that I have to agree with you on. There should be more than one starting area. I think in time, this will come. This company has done something different than the others, which is focus on a good game, and not a massive game. This being the case they started small and grew, rather than huge and said, "Oh, shit, we're in trouble." The people assembled for this game are amazing. I personally know Scott Hartsman to a degree and he's an amazing person and true to his word. Gersh can be difficult (he he) but he's a damn fine producer and he learned a lot from what happened (badly) in WAR. And don't forget there are tons of people from Vanguard. These things will come.

But as you said it is pretty.

That it is.

A fat bloated mmo to me means its stuffed with tons of options and things to do.

Then, I guess Rift is a fat bloated MMO, though it could use a bit more bloat, but you now I remember this one game that didn't have much in the beginning but it was fun. It was called World of something. Can't remember.

Playing WOW still love it, was in the first rift beta felts like EQ2 all over again with better graphics. Your character feels clunky and like shit in Rift. Major turn off for me. Not to mention it plays like shit on my comp. My comp is built for gaming(Rampage Extreme111 mobo, i7-950, GTX470 SLI, 6gig Corsair Dom. I'd expect more then 30 FPS on max settings and yes I know its beta. But sorry to burst everyones bubble release will not be much better  they can only optomize that shitty gawd awful engine their using so much. Rift will not kill the King of the hill. Rift will fall in with MMO's such as Aion, AOC and warhammer. lol welcome to the back of the line rift...

If Rift will fail, why is nearly everyone I know from Alpha and a lot of people from Beta talking about selling their WoW accounts for once and for all?

Why are entire guilds coming to Rift from EQ2, Lotro, and WAR?

"Rift is Rift, just deal with it." And there is the  voice.....nice about the only worth while thing said .WoW is old now..rift is new play what ever game you like its your choice play whats fun to YOU....but please quit with the fail and clone BS its realy tired....love what you want hate what you want but if your going to hate out loud at least TRY to put some thought into it huh?

There is one thing I hate about Rift (and they've partially fixed it). The voice talent on the intro and the two main characters sucks. I could have done better myself (I am not kidding). Other than that, it's been a long time that a game had this much potential.

For all those putting it down, you will be eating your words in a few years. Why? Because Rift is the first AAA MMO (and I could be wrong) beside that shitty Korean Aion in 10 years to have it's own IPO. This is just like EQ1. They can do whatever they like. This can go anywhere.

Can't do that with WoW, it's tied to the RTS. Can't do that with Lotro, Tolkien House will get pissed. AoC? Not so much because of the REH people. EQ2? Nope, has to abide by EQ1. And, I don't count Vanguard because it was such a mess. So this game has more potential than anything we've seen in some time.

I didn't know WoW had clowns, other than the ones claiming Rift is a WoW clone that is.

Bravo.. These kids act like WoW wasn't a clone of everything that came before it. WoW brought nothing original to the table except graphics and speed of combat in the beginning (of course it changed things over time).

If you don't want to play Rift, don't. Stick with your healers and tanks who suck arguing in heroics with each other because neither can play, while both try to find someone to blame for that. Stick with a multi-billion dollar company that uses the same goddam Nagas and mob models every other damn expansion. I mean, really, they sold 4.7 million copies and they give us Nagas? Other games give you new mobs every expansion, WoW uses the same. I think I've seen maybe 5 new mobs in this expansion (aside from bosses), and only one that I said, "Wow, he looks badass."

But, these are the same ignorant fools who say a Chevy is a clone of a Ford and that a Snickers is a clone of a Butterfinger.

I was in beta and it can't hold a candle to WoW.

And no, I'll never play Rift, it's like watching paint dry.

You are f*$(ing retarded. You were in beta. Oh wow, you got to test a few things in a controlled environment up to level 20.. Wow, you know so much. Did you raid? Did you hit 50? Did you see end game?

Some of us did, and we have a completely different opinion than you. Unfortunately, I am under NDA and can't discuss any of it, but suffice to say, it's clear that you are talking out of your ass and should continue blowing Blizzard.

This game has most of the better things from Lotro, EQ, EQ2, WoW, WAR, etc all wrapped into one, and on a DAILY basis I see them adding more and more features. There are SOOOOO many things you don't even know exist and haven't seen because they haven't been pushed to the beta servers.

So, I just suggest that before you open your trap, make sure it's about something you know about. Otherwise you look like a fool. And am I a Rift fanboy? No, but I can't stand ignorance. You've seen about 10% of this game, if that.

To think Rift will fail is completely and utterly foolish.

I concur.

This is all I can say.

It's more balanced than you think.

That's all I can say.

Thanks. Just thought I'd share... Sometimes it does work out online.

Wife and I met in WoW in 2006 when I was the guild leader of a raiding guild. Her char was Arlyn. Yesterday Arlyn was born http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9D6ra3VYaaY #wow

This is what happens when you play World of Warcraft with girls.

So you are saying that mmorpg.com is unprofessional, as this happens all the time.

Behold the awesome power of Some Guy's One Man MMOGSite Review!

Well, bless him, he has to stick his nose out in order to get noticed.   However, "It seems Final Fantasy XIV might not be up to the hype" won't do it.  "May not be?" Hell no!  Buck up you panzy, people might think you're worried the game may actually be successful after all and are trying to cover your bases.

He should have wrote, "Final Fantasy XIV has singlehandedly destroyed my will to live!"  The screenshots would be replaced with pictures of things from the greatest disasters in human history.  In the end, a screenshot of him with his head in his hands, wet from his own tears, in a room with "Goodbye, Cruel World" painted on every wall.

Now that's a negative review that would get some attention to his little hole-in-the-wall site!

I remember you, weren't you the guy he was referencing telling everyone the same thing about Conan? lol
