losing progress in mmos is always bad, that make ma want to shut down the game.

The best penalty was in CoH, remember dept-brothers ? :-)

This is how it is:

To level up (as a newbie) you still need some time (from1-90). I would say as a regular player, without twinks that give you money/gear, 1-2 month.

Questing you will be playing mostly alone, while with the dungeon finder you will find a group at every level with max waiting time of 10 min. (Tank, healer instant)

PvP you can do in Battlegrounds and you also get a huge amount of exp from it, so you can lvl with PvP . Battlegrounds open also at every level with waiting time of 5 - 15 min.

Open world PvP is still huge couse of the x-realms. But since it doest not give the players much exp/honor, most just do it for fun.

The prices in AH are high, but you can use this for your advantage if you collect ore/herbs/lether and sell them. Best thing do get rich as a newbie.

So yes, its not too late , you can start anytime.

well WOW is still the BEST mmo out there, without a doubt. But in this forum are so many haters that just cant share your joy. 

The hobby of the normal mmorpg.com user is to hype a game and then flame it after 2 weeks or cry for a sandbox-pvp-fullloot mmo (that will nerver come).

abloslutly nothing inovative in gw.

public quests stolen from WAR.

Jump puzzles stolen form com. of WOW.

PvP stolen from DAOC.

The other things in that game where nothing good, so nobody wants to see them again.

No offence, I relly wanted to like this game, played it for one week and was bored to dead.

I remember when I played it many years ago, 5 guys standing around a player summoned elementar in passiv mode, attaking it for hours just to leech some skill points so they can better grief newbies.

Yes that was much better then the heartbeating action that I had when I camptured my first flag in warsong....

FPS combat has nothing to do with a mmo. Look at all the crap mmos like darkfail.

The future of mmo combat is tab targeting, skill  and position management. Imagine Fallen earth with Tab targeting, would be so epic.

We should thank Jackson and the other people who made Lotr and Hobbit movies for what they did.

Lets face is, Lotr books were quite boring compared the other fantasy books nowdays (see "game of thrones" or  "Malazan Book of the Fallen"). Jackson made great movies thanks to him the lotr universe will live forever.
