AoC i remember first playing it, i was floored at how beautiful it was. Wasn't since Vanguard i was utterly amazed how beautiful a MMORPG could be. Knowing SE, and how much work they put into making their games look awesome. I expect FFXIV is going to deliver the same affect, as AoC/VG did.

That for me, is how they will compare.. just that aweeee factor you will get taking in the graphics, and remembering this a MMO.

You will become the healer's hassle, they will laugh at you for not being able to kill them. They will grow to hate your gut's however, when they start thinking. Why are my heals not healing as much!!!!?????? WTF  i can't  get my rez off!!????? Where the hell is all my AP going!!!???????  Why won't this BG leave me alone, he can't kill me.......... oh waitttt :(

Then the Blackguard being able to survive like no other. Why won't this fricken Blackguard die.... fuck his HP regen and high dmg mitigation... GRRRRR.

At the end of the day their just a plain nuisance for order. So if you like the idea of being a little kid, and poking your sibling in the arm over and over and over with a stick, then somehow not get a ass whopping from your parents. Then the Blackguard is for you!!!!

so i could play Aion? WAR? and even AoC?

Aion yes, War mehhhh, and AoC fuck no.

I rarely eat when I game, except for some popcorn once in a while for a snack. I mostly just drink lot's of water, when i play. Then have to take many bathroom breaks because of it >.> Then time to time I'll have something like MT. Dew, to help stay up for latenight dungeon run w/ friends.

I enjoy my buffet style mmorpg thank you very much.  The bad thing about the charge per hour is that people will want to most efficiently use those hours.  Imagine running a raid and fail because of one poor bastard mistake.  Just imagine how pissed off the rest of the group would be not that the poor bastard not only cost them time but money as well.

Do you not think theres already a group of people out there that think theres money is getting wasted, because some poor bloke messed up in a raid, on a standard $15 a month. I can tell you that there is, and especially people that don't get much free time to play.

With your standard monthly charge of $15, you get a sense of obligation of trying to play as much as you can.. to feel like you didn't waste your $15. Theres plenty of people that believe their money is wasted, on that premise alone.. when they don't really have the time to play for that month.

It doesn't really matter if the poor bastard made one mistake or not. Atleast, for most people they could look pass that, and still feel they got their moneys worth.. cause they were still able to play the game and were not stuck with real life obligations, not being able to play at all. I don't know how many times I have felt, when i think i completely wasted my $15.. because i only had the time to play 4 hours a week, because of work.. or the unexpected happened.

I could've just canceled my account altogether for the time being. But at same time when life is being busy, and somehow found some free time to play. I want to still be able to hop in the game, and enjoy myself. If there was a pay as you play model.. i could feel like i really got my moneys worth, even if a poor bastard made one mistake in the raid.

I can in a sense understand people wanting to pinch their pennies, trying to manage your hours. Though it really doesn't matter, seeing how you can end up paying less then the $15 you normally would've spent anways. If people can't appreciate that, then maybe they need to find a new hobby.

I rather see companies, do a pay for how much you play. Set the min to like $5, so the company is guaranteed some kind of money. Then based on how much you actual play the game... will determine how much  you actually pay. Only have time to play 7 hours a week, might only pay $5 for the month. Play for 14 hours a day O.o .... you'll have to pay max limit of $15-$20 for the month.

I came back for a month recently, and happen to like the LFD tool for the older content, WotLK not so much. You have to factor in this game is around five and half year's old. A lot of the content pre WotLK is not touched anymore. Leveling up a new Warlock, I had a good deal of fun with the LFD, while still exploring the world. I met  plenty of cool people from other servers. One group of people.. I played with. We ended up doing like 6 dungeon's in a row together, because we had so much fun talking to each other and playing the game, before most us had to go to bed. So it's not like it killed the social aspect, and most people playing this game for long enough... are not really bothered to do most of these dungeons again. Time it takes to get a tank or healer, then have to run there... bleh.

It helps bring back the old game, which I'm all for. Some people just need to remove the stick from their ass. Also I've heard talk of SOE adding this feature into EQ2 as well. Another older game, that can bring life back to it's older content.

I played WAR for a while got two characters to level 40 and got bored fairly fast once i hit the level cap. The SC's and sieges were getting pretty stale. I know WAR is mostly a pvp/rvr game, but has mythic done anything to enhance or add to the end game pve content? I stopped playing about 8 months ago and really need to find something to play until final fantasy 14 comes out. I have been racking my brain trying to find something to play and I figured maybe I would give WAR another go if they beefed up the end game a bit despite its somewhat waning player base.

PvE is more of the less the same sadly, the last real PvE added update was Land of the Dead content. Wanting to play PvE really in this game is barking up the wrong tree. The PvE has to live in Harmony with PvP. The only thing left they can do with endgame PvE, is add a Raid to get the PvE equivalent of PvP Sovereign gear. Not a whole lot of people have Sovereign gear yet or even the renown level to get it, so it's not viable for them to add anything like it right now.

As for RvR, they just did a scenario re-vamp of the game. They took out, a bunch of the less popular ones. So it pretty much looks like this now.

T1- Nordenwatch, and Gates of Ekrund

T2- Nordenwatch, Reikland Factory, and Mourkain Temple

T3- Nordenwatch, Reikland Factory, Tor Anroc, and Lost Temple

T4- Nordenwatch, Reikland Factory, Battle For Praag, Caledor Woods, Lost Temple, and Serpents Passage.

The ones they cut out, will come back for special weekend event's... which will give special rewards. Then they introduced RvR weapon's.. which you get currency for doing scenarios. You can do them all regardless of campaign status, except for city sieges. Then they introduced the Underdog system, removed forts, and improved the overall performance of the game.

In next patch they plan on making the King Encounters, a total RvR experience, rather then a total PvE one. Then theres talks about cross realm scenario queing. Then have something planned for the removed fort's... as far as content is concerned.

If you don't mind putting $15 down.. just for a month... I would say go for it. Nothing really to stay long term till FFXIV though. I just let my sub run out. As i got sick of the lack of variation of stuff to do in the game. I've been playing since beta, and it always feels like the same played out thing.. even if they add something new. However, you haven't played it for awhile. So it's worth checking out again for at least a month, or two though.

To much work, i wish i could have a ED-209.. do all my dirty work. Till it malfunctions, and makes me into swiss cheese.. oh well be fun while it lasted. Hahahaha

Good Ol United States, going about it's finest here. Fat girl sues McDonalds, cause their food made her fat... >.>  Not as bad when some asshole decides to break into some poor bastards house. Then proceed to hurt himself, while breaking into the house. Then go's on later to sue homeowner, cause he hurt himself on the homeowners property... and somehow wins O.o

United States law system has been and still is a laughing joke. What next??? Someone with no arm's going to sue a glove manufacture!!??

It will be so bad ass to play as a Popori Lancer. Little guy carrying around a big shield, and lance.. that are double the size of him, and while tanking something 40X times bigger then him

TERA vs. Aion?

Aion takes skill to be competitive in PvP, and little bit in PvE.  Wow takes alot of skill to be competitive in both PvP and PvE.  I am interested in what your definition of skill is.  Just because TERA is aim based does not mean it takes more skill.

I would not of have gone as far to say, Aion and WoW takes no skill to play like the other guy. But just having to aim a spell and hope it lands.. takes a bit more skill then point and click, and have it heat seek your target. At the end of the day though, it's all opinion. I wouldn't say either WoW takes A LOT of skill, especially after Blizzard has dumb down the PvE, and has classes you can win in PvP just by smashing your face into the keyboard.. but that's just my opinion.

The population spread amongst the 4 servers make em feel lively, especially during prime-time hours. T3 is the only iffy spot, it's stuck in no man's land with majority of the population being in T4 and Land of the Dead, and then T1/T2. But you'll find action there, but as someone mentioned.. it's more so during prime-time hours though. Most people would just rather powerlvl themselves in Land of the Dead... once they hit 25 for the bolster... which pretty much sucks. Though Land of the Dead is only open for so long, before the other sides takes control of it.. and purges the enemy out.

First before I go anywhere about saying how well or smooth WAR runs I have to say I use a gaming system. My stats are as follows:

Processor:  AMD  Dual Core processor 5050e 2600 mhz

Graphics: ATI Radeon HD3200 Graphics 2gig  streaming.

Ram: 8g

memory: 460 g H.D

My system is a older but top notch gaming system. I run Warhammer perfect. I do not see the graphics issues some of the other posters complain about. So I am wondering if  perhaps it is a ISP issue. I use Insight Broadband 30.0 and have very little issue.

The only issue I see with War is its patcher. Which runs significantly slow compared to my I/O.

By the way, I have been playing War for a month now. Have had alot of fun and some of the best EPIC battles I have been in for a very long time. I do not believe it is the War servers. But do believe it is a players system.

Funny thing is, and I'm not being a jerk here. Your PC specs are hardly what anyone would call a "Top notch gaming system". So I'll just leave it there for people to ponder.

I mean really?!! It's not like SOE is here to try and rob you. Just like any other game out there, say like Lotro and WoW. They release a expansion for $20-$40. Then your still expected to pay the monthly, to be able to play the game. Then just like every sub based MMO, they always give a free month for *NEW* players.

If you hadn't been living under a rock, you would also know SOE is always at one point of time... giving out free month's of play time to it's ex player base for whatever game, to try and win them back. I can understand you not wanting to fork over $55 for one game, but get some common sense.

Druid on Vanguard, I loved that class, and had lot's of fun playing it with my friends.  Loved blowing stuff up with it (Mmmm starfall), and if shit hit the fan, i could toss out heals to help out.

I'm overall pretty partial to the caster pet classes, i also  liked the Warlock in WoW, and Spiritmaster in Aion. After playing Warhammer since launch till now.. i grew pretty fond of my Magus. The only explanation i can give to why i like them so much is that i have the most fun playing them, then any other class.

People that have played this game know that even with a high uber computer that lag during sieges and large scale battles you lag really bad.

A year ago yes, and i can blame that mainly on fort's. But since then they have removed fort's, and improved the performance. People just need to pull their head's out of their ass.

Game runs fine on my E8400, 4gig's of Ram, and a GTX 260 core. You have some kind of issue with your PC, and it's quite sad that you won't omit it. I'm the furthest thing from a War fan boy also, and know your full of shit.

As another poster said, it could be the streaming data bogging down your internet connection... or simply a driver problem. Next time you want to talk shit about Warhammer, just go all out and just say the game sucks... without giving a shit excuse why. Cause apparently it's to damn hard for you to think there could be a issue on your end >.>

Was this one year ago, I and pretty much everyone could agree the performance could be way better. Mythic, and how much i careless about them... made some nice big strides in improving the performance of the game since then.

"<insert random nagging>" then "Are you listening?" I'm most certainly not listening.
