I'm with you.  Someone should reach out to Smed on twitter and ask about a hardcore server that has these types of rules.  I'd definitely play on it.

No reason for a hardcore server if it is set like that by default.

Yeah well the plain fact is that we're in the minority on this one.  Have to be reasonable or end up disappointed.

From how Smedley has talked recently they shifted from the concept of targeting the masses to carving out their own segment of the MMORPG market. There are far more themepark players out there, but they chose to go with sandbox. Conveniences are thempark concepts, sandbox players generally don't want or need them.

I hadnt heard that he was talking like that.  It does sound great.  What you described above is the game I'd like to play - I hope it's what they're making!

Thanks for posting those links!  I almost didnt watch them because I had seen the panel before but I must have seen the Saturday panel.  This one was much more informative!

I hope he IS. SOE stated that they wanted to EQ3 to be more like EQ1... he's the guy that could pull it off!

 

I hope he does work on EQ3 to but quite rightly stated far far FAR away from planetside2, in fact there should be extra security employed just to make sure Brad cant wander into "BRAD RESTRICTED" areas.

Accounting might also be a good idea to place in restricted area along with any areas with a sick bay containing meds stronger than childrens paracetamol.

But give Brad EQ3 some woodelves and a ranger class he can get all wet over, and he will be one happy little bunny.
