I wish they would fix the bugs I'm getting on the xbox one version of the game. My stats are still resetting every time I launch the game and for some reason I'm not connecting to other players, it's always computer players driving around.

I'm pretty sure they finally squashed that bug and even managed to return a lot of lost stats. If yours are still resetting then you should contact customer support.

There are no more computer players after you leave the tutorial, which is when you enter and then exit your HQ for the first time in Detroit. If you've done that already then the people your seeing aren't AI.

I'm just happy that Ubisoft are continuing to honor the Season Pass with these new cars and not coming out with a second Season Pass, at least not yet. Getting content beyond what was promised with the original pass is a good thing.

I'm curious what other stuff the Community Manager was talking about as well. He's posted on the forums and his own Twitter that there are "good things in store" for this week. Then again, Natchai has teased and promised a few things before that were never heard of again.

I suppose he could have simply meant the new cars and the June update announcement, but this stuff was pretty well expected and not really something to get too excited over. We'll just have to wait and see if anything else is announced this week. I'd expect to hear some news on E3 around this time, assuming the game will make an appearance, so that could be it as well.

I'd personally never skimp on a mobo going Asrock.  I had a few of them, and they always had issues.  One died altogether, the other one reverted into a weird state where I could not overclock at all.  Read up and found it was a common problem.

Maybe I'm getting old and just don't have time with switching out this and that, but I just skip the crap and go straight for the best products now.  I always stick with intel and nvidia, and boards like Asus.  Not that I totally against AMD, but it sounds like you aren't really a budget gamer if you're running dual video cards.  Spend a little more and simply your life.

I've never owned an ASRock board myself, always used ASUS, but the OP asked for cheap and that is the cheapest A88X Newegg has currently. It was also a plus that it had good reviews and supports Kaveri CPUs out of the box. Of course everyone's mileage is going to vary with any brand, I know a few people who hate ASUS products.

AMD Athlon X4 860k

Cheaper, lower wattage and arguably better per-core performance than the FX 4350 and the FX 6300 (of course the the 6300 has 2 extra cores).

ASRock FM2A88M PRO3+

According to ASRock's website this motherboard should support the 860k without the need for a BIOS update, so you don't have to worry about having an extra CPU lying around just to update the BIOS.

G.SKILL Ares 8GB

WD Green 1TB

Just for a price ballpark.

Grand total of $236.96 before shipping and any possible rebates. Obviously you'd go for whatever amount of RAM and whatever size of HDD you prefer. A person could probably find better deals on the CPU and MOBO if they took the time. If you go with that CPU, and find a different board, just remember that not all FM2+ boards will support it out of the box.

An utter joke, but the funny part is that most of the ppl that p2w usually suck ass too...haha I laugh at you my friend!

You've been on this website for 10 days and so far all you've done is insult the members here. We may not all get along all the time, but we do at least have a certain amount of respect for one another. Your a perfect example of a toxic community member, it wouldn't matter what type of game your in or what payment model that game has, you'd be making that community worse.

Thank you for coming along and making a perfect example of yourself for this thread.

I saw first hand what kind of damage the move to F2P can do to a game with an excellent community, LOTRO, even worse on the Laurelin server of course.

F2P definitely negatively affects communities. B2P not so much, because there's the box price filter. But F2P? Why be respectful, when you can create as many accounts as you want.

My experience with LOTRO's F2P transition was much different. I was vehemently against the switch back then, I didn't like all the restrictions being put in place and I was worried what it would do to the game and the community. But, to my surprise, after the switch nothing really changed. There were a lot of new faces, and I had quite a bit of fun helping out the new players, met a lot of nice people. There were bad apples of course, but I met quite a few bad apples before the switch as well. Really the worst experience I had was being asked for money every few minutes, but that died down after a couple of weeks and I was able to clear out my ignore list.

LOTRO is what really changed my mind on F2P. I don't know how the game is now, everything changes over time (especially cash shops and communities), but back then it showed me that F2P can work. I haven't had a subscription to an MMO since.

The community is torn on the game, mainly for a love of the trek franchise, but the F2P transition made the game into a much less competitve game unless you wanna spend money on the PVP ships.

So then spend the money, what's the big deal?

Why is it okay for one game to say "You can't play our game at all until you pony up some cash.", but it's not okay for another to say "You can't pilot these PvP ships until you pony up some cash."? Why is a game that doesn't charge an entry fee suddenly not allowed to charge for anything ever? It's a bullshit double standard.

This has less to do with game communities and more to do with blaming yet another perceived ill in the MMO space on F2P. The larger or smaller a community gets the the more cooperative or uncooperative the community will become. The only affect that monetization has on a game community is from the players, who live by the above stated double standard, whining and crying that some of the toys that used to cost them money still costs them money.

I've been playing games for as long as I've been able to hold a controller and push keys on a keyboard. But, it wasn't until around 2000 - 2001 that I really became a "Gamer". There's three games that I played during that time that sparked my love for video games.

First was Diablo II and it's expansion, it was my first real gaming love. I'd say it's the game I've spent the most time playing, even to today, I still love playing it. It not only started my love for RPGs and Hack 'n' Slash, but it opened my eyes to online gaming. Unreal Tournament helped with that as well, but I was never into UT online as much as I was D2.

The second game was Mafia. It's the first game that made me realize that games could have a great story, and not just a great story, but a story as compelling as any movie and just as fun, if not more so, to watch unfold. As with Diablo II, I still love this game and play it now and then. I was happy to see it get a sequel and enjoyed that for what it was.

Lastly, but certainly not least, was the Legacy of Kain series, or more specifically Soul Reaver 2. I had the original Soul Reaver on the PS1, had no clue what it was, but I had just got my PS1 and wanted some games so I picked it up for no other reason that I thought the cover art was cool. I like the game, beat it, shelved it and didn't think too much about it until I saw there was a sequel coming out on the PS2.

I played the second game a bit, but found myself confused. I was thrust back into a confusing story that I didn't remember at all. So, I dug out my PS1, cleaned up the disk and played through the first game again. Then, I went back and played the second, I was hooked. I quickly started researching about the game, trying to find info on another sequel. During that search I found out that there was an older game, Blood Omen, and it looked kind of like Diablo... SWEET!

Then Blood Omen 2 came and confused the hell out of me, along with everyone else, but I didn't hate it like so many seemed to. Then Defiance came and made me want to rip my face off with it's controls, but the story wrapped everything up nicely and continued to blow my mind. Then, nothing, left with a scratch that I'll probably never get to itch again. The series ended with an illusion of hope, and it seems that's all it ever was, an illusion.

So, long story short: Diablo made me fall in love with RPGs and online gaming, even more so than the MMOs that I started playing after it. Mafia made me realize that games can have a compelling narrative and characters that you care about. And, the LoK series made me realize that games can be art, that they can effect you on a deep, emotional level. That trifecta of games back in the early 2000's was my awakening, they made me the gamer I am today.

I've always found the whole idea of giant Mechs wielding giant weapons specifically made for them ridiculous, since the Mech's only purpose is fighting it could easily just have guns attached to it, no need for arms and hands. I'm not speaking specifically of this game, but the entire Mech genre.

Regardless, the game did look cool. Basically an all Mech version of Titanfall, or at least that's what the trailer made me think of. The transformation was neat, throw in a bit of customization and it could have been close to the Transformers game that we all want but won't ever get. Oh well, too bad they cancelled it.

Wouldn't the real situation be: A market sells the same brand of chicken for 10 years and then they start selling several other brands of chicken, like boneless chicken and precooked chicken. A lot of new customers come and buy the newer brands of chicken even quite a few older customers turn away from the original brand. However a few stogy old bastards refuse to accept that the market is selling other brands of chicken. They preach about how great the original chicken was so much better because it was harder to prepare and tougher chew so it was more challenging to choke down and only lazy dumb people wouldn't like the chicken they liked.

Pretty much this. Only the old stogy bastards are allowed to know what they like, everyone else are just mindless meat sacks, consuming whatever crap is thrown at us, who need to be shown the light. We all need to stop playing MMOs so that they can start getting games like they want, which they're all too smart to realize won't ever happen because the genre is interested in moving forwards and not backwards.

It doesn't really matter in the end. They can cry and whine as loud as they want, we just have to put up with it here, but the genre as a whole can't even hear them.

Occasionally when I'm at the shops I'll pick up a random minifigure packet purely out of child-hood nostalgia.  This prompted me to give this game a look which is so incredibly simple it's obvious that the the intended audience is considerably younger than I am.

That being said... the lack of building and construction ala Minecraft is particularly daft in a Lego game.

If they combined the whole minifigure franchise with an isometric 3D lego construction world it would be a huge draw for many parents to play with their children in.

As it stands, Minecraft retains that audience, with Lego minifigures online being more of an ultra-lite RPG.

Wait, this is a LEGO game that doesn't let you build anything?

Huh?  I never said that I don't play F2P games.  I just said that pay walls don't bother me.  I'm a working professional and I can afford a sub.  I currently sub multiple EVE online accounts, Planetside 2, WoT and up until recently Age of Conan.  Several of which are technically free to play, but I sub (premium.. whatever they call it) them anyways because the benefits of being subbed are good.

What I meant by that statement is that if I literally could not afford to pay a sub for a game, then maybe I should be reevaluating my life and taking a step back from gaming until I sorted my financial situation out.

Everybody has downtime, even poor people, and everyone deserves some entertainment to fill that downtime. Gaming can be pretty cheap, compared to most other forms of entertainment.

In any case, none of that really matters. The move towards F2P isn't because people can't afford to pay a sub, that's certainly not the case with WS, it's because we don't want to or can't justify the cost due to time constraints.

With Wildstar, it's just that a lot of people don't seem to like it and don't think it's worth $15 a month. But, as F2P it might be a game that's worth putting $20 bucks into it every once in a while. I won't be trying it out, but I think ditching the pay wall will definitely entice some new and old players to get into the game.

Looked horrible in my opinion. I guess there was 100 vs 100 people, couldn't really tell. Wouldn't have mattered if it was 20 vs 20 really, would probably have looked the same. One giant mass of bunny hopping and way over done spell effects.

My favorite part was all the NPCs standing there completely oblivious to the shit storm happening all around them.

So let's see, large battles, been done before. NPCs that are nothing but loot dispensers and scenery, seen that before. Blow my face off, realistic graphics that will look like crap in a few years, been done before. I've read people praising it here and elsewhere over the last couple of years, but I'm just not seeing it. What is so exciting about this game?

Most gamers could care less about MMOs, so yeah, it appeals to some people.

PS4 eh? Sign me up! PC may be flooded with survival games but the consoles sure aren't, and they really need something like this. Shame that it's not coming for another year, but what can you do?. Hopefully all the bugs can get ironed out in early access so the consoles can have a smooth release.

As for picking a sandbox game and sticking with it no matter "how bad it may be" is a ridiculous statement and sounds more like you want to be one of the 'cool kids' than actually play something you enjoy.

As someone who does exactly that, I certainly took it into consideration when making my earlier post. Their anti console statements, however tongue in cheek, serve no purpose other than to excite the hardcore PC elitists. Hopefully enticing those with fat wallets to hand over more money to the company who's slanderous ideas about non PC gaming and publishers fall in line with their own. Of course, the company doesn't really feel that way, but they'll say and do whatever they have to in order to get the money they need.

Dispute what I claimed in the original post. Dispute how many available hours there are in a day. Dispute how it's not more difficult to keep up with 20 games than one and be a good feedback resource on the intricacies and systems involved in a game when a developer requests play feedback. Dispute that people don't need each other in the games. Dispute that person who plays your game 2 hours a week is driving your community better than someone who participates 20 hours a week, why should you share their time with others.

How many hours are available for playing games depends on each individual. Whether their playing one game or 20 games no one has the right to tell them they're doing it wrong. If someone chooses to keep up with multiple games that's their choice, and it's not a fact that they're hurting the genre by doing so.

Honestly, were I an MMO developer I'd favor the feedback from someone who only sees fit to play my game for two hours a week over someone who plays 20. I've already got the 20 hour a week player hooked, I'd want to know what I could do to keep the two hour gamer in my game longer. It's not a fact that someone who plays a game more often is going to have a better idea of what's best for the game.

How about you dispute that communities are just fine in most games? Can you, since you aren't playing any? In every game I've been in I see fairly healthy communities, with people crafting, selling and buying. I see random groups of players and guilds playing together. What does it matter if I spend two hours in game or five? Everyone's happy to see me regardless, and ready to play the game with me.

What about communities that play multiple MMOs together? Are they also doing it wrong because they aren't a constant presence in just one game? What about the loner who plays the same game multiple hours every night but never interacts with anyone, are they a better member of the community than someone who plays once a week but actively participates with the community at large? You cannot just outright say that it's a fact that one person brings less to the table just because they play the game less.

I'm sorry, I don't see any facts in your posts. All I see are opinions on a genre that you've admitted your hardly a part of anymore, and how it's you're duty to save it by stating your "facts" to anyone who'll listen. You can continue on if you'd like, but I'm going to do exactly as DMKano chose to do with your original post and just not respond. Have a good one.

10/10

Would laugh my ass off at the stupidity again.
