What's this 'WE goes down so quickly which is balance to their DPS....' garbage?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 12/08/08 3:25:48 PM
I stoped playing this joke, WAR, a few weeks ago, i suggest (OP) you do the same, any person looking for a balanced pvp game, should avoid WAR, period.

Originally posted by someforumguy No it isnt as simple as that. The devs are also present at contract negotiations, or at least someone who represents them. A deal goes both ways. They already had a deal with the EU publishers. So how on earth could Acclaim manage to get away with this? The only reason I can imagine, is that the TCoS devs underestimated the impact of IPblocking would give. Maybe Acclaim expected it (because this is the party in this deal with more experience in the MMO industry), but just wanted it to push through because for them it would mean more subscriptions. So I really wonder if the TCoS team realised what the result would be of this. Like you I can only guess and assume things about this situation, but if you look at the EU player reactions it can only result in less players. To me it sounds like a beginners mistake. The only winner here is the last publisher that came to the table : Acclaim. While the players and the TCoS team (with hindsight) are the losers. It is also as if those publishers like to have a bad name in the player's eyes. Maybe the problem is that they cant measure how many players they lost through these actions.
The team behind TCOS had to give something away, and i think, we do agree about this point. Whatever they gave away end up been more than they had should gave away, is something, we could just , as u say, imagine. AS i say on my post, i am ready to be easy on those guys, since they are an Indy company, and probably, they had to sell a pice of soul to the devil, but not just because i am a bit naif, but also, because, they deserve some respect, because, they are thinking out of the box, in some concepts. If they keept on their side, the last word about the way TCOS would evolve on time, maybe they are smarter than many people think.

I am sure it is easy to use Amazon ( never use it myself, so i cant comment) and get a copy, however, what i wanted to share on my post, was how dificult was actually getting the game at almost any gaming shop, on germany, on the relase day. As i also wanted to share the joke this guy made about his first ever quest into TCOS lore :) meaning, finding the game at any given shop, wich i found really funny, the way he portrait, the fact, many people, cant actually find the game at shops :)
So i am sure, it is easy to get a copy on Amazon, but, it is it is redundant. |

I was able ( my IP is actualli blocked, ) to gaze into the german forum, and there is a bit of talk talk about how dificult it is/it was to find the game on the shops.
Actually a guy made a joke saying, probably the first ever quest at TCOS, is actually to find the game at shops , brilliant hahahahah
I mean,. i really wish a brilliant future for TCOS, but, ufff, man, weirdest release since i can remenber. |

Originally posted by someforumguy We should give some credit to the Dev's, honest, it is a Indy company, there was not EA or SOE or one for those giants behind them all this time throwing money at them.
Now you imagine those guys behind TCOS knocking on several doors and trying to find a publisher for a new mmo where armor is stat-less, where there is not epic swords, where skill actually matters, it is not based in a well known book, it is their first work etc etc etc etc

Have a look, on ArenaNet/Ncsoft, since they have been dealing with GW players at non Ofical forums for the last 3 years, and they prove, it works just fine

WAR needs time to develop - But will EA be that patient?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 11/24/08 6:37:56 AM
But will EA be patient? Could not careless, i am a patience man, meanwhile, i`ll rather stop my sub and not waste those euros. |

I agree about TCOS IP blocking is by far the biggest dissapointment this year for me. I shoould also mention WAR, fun for a few days, but after i did play 100 times torn anroc, could not stand it anymore. |

Agree, and it is a big issue, personally i wont be playing when my sub ends (25th).
A huge mistake was to open as many servers as they did, and to segregate the EU players as much as they did. Huge maps/land as WAR has, needs much more than a of thousand people on each side. Also, having as many RvR zones as the game has atm, segregate even more the players
Does not feel empty, it is empty indeed. Merge servers could be a good first step, but they decide to just let some players use transfers, so people not on high populated or low populated servers, are screw, waitting till some miracle happend and fill those servers .... Fine, i`ll wait, but i wont keep paying. |

Even i was trying to make people know about this game in several spanish gaming forums, i imagine they dont want our money. fine. |

XFire should be taken into account as a good tool to be used to do some statistics
If you still got any more doubts, i shall suggest you to check this link
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statistics
We are not saying xfire statistics are an empirical work, nevertheless, Xfire, is a good tool, to reflect gaming patters. |

"worst PvP" is a label, cant be attached to this game, at all. |

I just had to quote this. Now that's a way to answer. Personally I own a 360, but I regret having bought this instead of the PS3.
On the flip side, the 360 has a lot of sports titles, so if you're into that... to be honest, the OP's post was such a wall of text that I didn't read it. My vote, though, is the PS3. I have the 360, but I would gladly trade it in for a PS3 to be honest. Laters.
QFT
I did buy a PS3 a few months ago, i was close to buy the 360, but, for every dollar/euro spend , ps3 gives you more back than an 360. blue-ray, "fanless" system, brilliant multimedia center, wireless, free online game play, no redlights( and this is a big issue), longer life spam, etc etc
i mean, yes, ps3 is more expensive, but, when you really get into consideration every aspect, such statment, is not actually (ps3 more spensive) true. |
