Originally posted by Zefire Those types of graphics sadly are prevalent in most MMO's, SW;TOR for instance also had 'those kind of graphics' but yeah, i have a good feeling about WoD, and im hoping CCP really manage to pull it off, as their more recent addition Dust 514 was a bit of a damp squib, about all i see in Wildstar is another Themepark grindathon, so i'll wait and see how it looks once its been out a few months, assuming its out this year that is. |

Raven from 400mil to 650mil, Machariel from 740mil to 1.2 bil. Nice wellcome for new players

Originally posted by Malcanis gaining an extra launcher slot at the expense of a low slot is a bit of an extreme nerf tbh, as it really is reducing its ability to either tank, or damage output, not that the Fleet Typhoons main damage dealing is from launchers or guns anyway, more than 50 percent of the damage is usually from Drones. The changes you've just mentioned actually makes them less effective for mission running and takes away a hell of a lot of their previous flexibility. |

Originally posted by Malcanis guy i knew who got caught using RMT for isk, ended up losing the amount from his account, leaving him with a -5 billion isk account status, which meant he couldnt buy a clone even, it took him a long long long time to clear that negative bank balance, and afaik he never used RMT again, and yes, he did have to borrow isk from corp mates to help clear it. oddly enough though, even though i've been playing since 2004, i've never owned a CNR or a Machariel, for mission running i tend to use Typhoons, mostly because they have a good cap stable armour tank, and drone bay. and their faster than Ravens anyway |

Poll - would you prefer ESO to be more like the series and a PvE sandbox only?
General Discussion « Elder Scrolls Online 5/20/13 3:31:08 AM
Originally posted by muffins89 personally i find its the PVP'ers that tend to do the most whining, they come in 3 varieties, the first being the ones who want to man up and go 1 v 1, and then whinge like crazy because they get pwned by the guys friends, and then theres the zergers who travel around in groups and whinge when they get on the wrong end of other people doing the exact same thing the last group, the open worlders, who roam around looking for someone to kill, preferably someone already in combat with an npc of some kind, because you know, they're easier to kill |

Originally posted by Tallyn sounds like the ill reputed system that came from the Underground base fights in PS1, which were universally (at least in the outfit i was in at the time) regarded as being a PITA.. as for reddit, its just another forum, and one i don't use nor intend to, nor do i use tentonhammer for that matter, which is imo at least, a bit more reputable than reddit. But back to hacking on Matheson, it happens, a lot, most days we report someone we know is hacking, and thats just the ones we encounter, and the more obvious ones at that, as an earlier poster mentioned, there are hacks available that are less obvious, and while it may be a tad controversial, i think the only way the hacking issue is going to get sorted out, is if the game ceases to be F2P, and starts banning hackers credit cards.. |

It doesnt cost anything to find out, which is always a good thing, i can't really compare it to any other game out there at the moment, there are only a few classes at the moment, hopefully there will be more variation in the future. Its quest orientated, mostly single player, you can join groups but the queues are fairly long and most of the time your on your own anyway, in that sense its a lot like SW;TOR as you get a companion early on, that supplements your toon, if you choose guardian fighter, then pick up a cleric pet, and vice versa if you go cleric in game, it also plays a bit diablo'ish as your also reliant on potions to keep you alive, they have a 12 second cool down, but their plentiful and you don't really feel in any danger of running out. As a casual game its pretty good, drop in for the odd half hour and have fun, and its free, which means even if you don't like the game, you havent lost anything finding out. The combat can be repetitious, as you can end up spending a lot of time holding down the mouse button and waiting on cooldowns, a bit of cellotape can come in handy at times

Originally posted by gatheris its another of those laughable excuses, doesnt matter how daft an idea is, or how badly implemented, if something else did something equally as daft, then thats okay, its not their fault, its somebody elses. And yeah, at first i thought it was some kind of elaborate hoax, somebody knocking together a piece of machinima to spoof people with, but, apparently not, they have really done this. I guess the question is, what else do they have in the works, and is it just as daft as their latest faux pas. |

well, it wouldnt be the first game to take a reasonably good idea, and then trash it.. doubt it will be the last either, but AA is a pretty good example of why those sorts of games don't make it in the West.. just add it to the pile i guess.

Would EQ-Next benefit from an SWG crafting/resource system?
EQ Next General Discussion « Everquest 5/17/13 5:12:14 AM
Originally posted by Ecoces and also points out how little knowledge they have of the crafting systems in SWG, the problem really is that not many games can support a crafting system with that degree of complexity. But if EQ did have a crafting system like SWG's you'd find that more players would concentrate so much on crafting that the rest of the game would be ignored, perhaps thats not such a bad thing either |

cheapest one from Amazon UK is £25, might want to consider that before springing for the whole season pass thing, which you might decide not to buy anyway.

It sounds like a MOBA game, but theres no way a MOBA game could take anything like this long in development, so who knows, and a game that spans different time periods, have to wait and see, but have to agree with a lot of the other posters when it comes to e-sports, as soon as i see that tag applied to something, its a massive red flag, for me at least.

Originally posted by mrrshann618 the problem that had SW;TOR not working really only applied if you had windows xp, there was a patch late last night that fixed the problem, which was that when you tried to launch the game from the patcher, the game crashed to desktop immediately. but the problem is now fixed, and it was only for people with XP, which unfortunately.. included me.. but as i said, they fixed it, and now its working again. |

Well, I did it. I've beaten Neverwinter! (On my Guardian Fighter)
Reviews & Impressions « Neverwinter 5/16/13 1:59:29 AM
Originally posted by evilastro its not pay to win exactly, as when you buy the keys to unlock those nightmare lockboxes, its pretty much a random drop, but, the first one i unlocked at level 11, dropped a longsword that was still better than the quest reward ones/loot drops at level 26, and i didnt replace it until level 30, and even then it still said it was the recommended item even though it did slightly less damage and had less power. but yeah, at the lower end it probably was more than a little overpowered, and may have been one of the reasons why killing things in game was 'relatively' easy, and i didnt die, and this was as a guardian fighter with a pet dog, at level 20 i decided to buy a pet cleric and their both now level 14, the dog and cleric that is. anyway, now level 30 and not a single death, but i didnt engage in pvp so i have no idea if the gloomwrought longsword was OP for that or not. i only spent £10 on buying zen and converting it to keys so i wouldnt exactly class that as paying much, as thats as much as you would pay in a month in a p2p game, however, it doesnt last long, and there are numerous methods in place to encourage you to spend even more, and while i ignored them, it has meant that i also didnt get a mount until level 29, and it took up almost all my gold to buy it. astral diamonds are in heavy use in the game, and if you intend to enchant your gear, which, imo is a good way to lose a hell of a lot of astral diamonds, as the runes you use to enchant gear is only transferable at a heavy cost in terms of astral diamonds, and you need as many runes as possible to fuse them and get better ones. any astral diamonds i had in game were used to recover rune stones so i could use them/fuse them to get better ones, if i had known ahead of time i would have just used level 1 runes, as recovering level 3 runes costs a fortune in astral diamonds. |

Would "gold battlecruisers" bring more casual players to eve ?
Jita (General) « EVE Online 5/16/13 1:17:58 AM
Originally posted by Loktofeit Its also worth mentioning that Eve actually employs a professional economist, and he manages to keep Eve on an 'even keel' so to speak. But i would also have to agree that the OP's ideas/suggestions do seem to exhibit a certain amount of, or should i say a lack of, knowledge of the subject. Fact is, Eves economy is player driven, introducing a ship of whatever size, that isnt player manufactured/sold would disrupt the economy, it has nothing to do with the balance of players between PVP and PVE orientation, though tbh, if your playing Eve then PVP is something that will happen wherever you are, high sec after all, is not a PVP free zone, it does happen, and it happens a lot, and not just from war dec's either, although the sheer number of war dec's occuring on any given day are phenomenal. Eve is not a safe place, and its not meant to be, if the OP doesnt appreciate that, then perhaps other games that do promote consequence free PVP are more to his taste. |
