That game will be as far from Twilight as you can get lol..

throwing a twilight fan into WoD is pretty much the same as throwing a baby rabbit into a pack of wolves..

they might find it a bit too nasty for them, killing them repeatedly usually helps

With those kind of graphics....I doubt it

The next big game will be world of darkness remember that.

Those types of graphics sadly are prevalent in most MMO's, SW;TOR for instance also had 'those kind of graphics' but yeah, i have a good feeling about WoD, and im hoping CCP really manage to pull it off, as their more recent addition Dust 514 was a bit of a damp squib, about all i see in Wildstar is another Themepark grindathon, so i'll wait and see how it looks once its been out a few months, assuming its out this year that is.

Ravens are getting a massive speed buff. typhoon is going to lose a little speed, and in fact the fleet phoon will be 1m/s slower base speed than the Raven (It's still a good bit lighter than the Raven, so it'll be faster wiith MWD/AB)

But seriously, have a look at the proposed changes to the Fleet Typhoon - it's going to be a VERY powerful ship now and they're still pretty cheap (275M in Jita)

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=235324&find=unread

TYPHOON FLEET ISSUE
With the Typhoon Fleet Issue we wanted to offer a home for the heavily trained Minmatar pilot who loves the extreme versatility that Matar can offer. To make that possible, while also picking up some of the new flavor from the tech 1 Typhoon, we are giving this ship the same treatment as the new Scythe Fleet Issue by making the split weapon bonus stronger. The Typhoon Fleet Issue will also be the ‘attack’ battleship, and like its former version, it is extremely fast for a battleship.

Minmatar Battleship Skill Bonuses:
+7.5% to Cruise and Torpedo launcher damage
+7.5% to Large Projectile Turret rate of fire

Slot layout: 8H, 5M(+1), 7L(-1); 6 turrets(+1) , 6 launchers(+1)
Fittings: 13000 PWG(-125), 660 CPU
Defense (shields / armor / hull): 9500(+1296) / 9000(-316) / 9000(-316)
Capacitor (amount / recharge rate): 5800(+800) / 1100s(+12.5s)
Mobility (max velocity / agility / mass / align time): 138(-5) / .11(-.0001) / 102600000 (-1000000) / 14.93s(-.059s)
Drones (bandwidth / bay): 125 / 200
Targeting (max targeting range / Scan Resolution / Max Locked targets): 65km(+5k) / 115 / 7
Sensor strength: 23 Ladar Sensor Strength(+.5)
Signature radius: 320

gaining an extra launcher slot at the expense of a low slot is a bit of an extreme nerf tbh, as it really is reducing its ability to either tank, or damage output, not that the Fleet Typhoons main damage dealing is from launchers or guns anyway, more than 50 percent of the damage is usually from Drones. The changes you've just mentioned actually makes them less effective for mission running and takes away a hell of a lot of their previous flexibility.

I don't know what region you're in, but I'm buying Ravens for 127m and selling them for 150m.

CNR's are better than the standard raven, for prices at jita look under Battleships/Navy faction/

I don't buy plex from EVE I buy my items from third parties then buy the in world plex so not a problem for me.

Either way we build our own ships do our own mining.

However you want a solution to the ecnomic problem?

Buy all the plex from the market drive the price up supply and demand problem solved.

Or flood the market with Ravens and so on.

You do realise that publically admitting to RMT probably isn't a good idea, since CCP will permaban without warning for a first offence?

guy i knew who got caught using RMT for isk, ended up losing the amount from his account, leaving him with a -5 billion isk account status, which meant he couldnt buy a clone even, it took him a long long long time to clear that negative bank balance, and afaik he never used RMT again, and yes, he did have to borrow isk from corp mates to help clear it.

oddly enough though, even though i've been playing since 2004, i've never owned a CNR or a Machariel, for mission running i tend to use Typhoons, mostly because they have a good cap stable armour tank, and drone bay.  and their faster than Ravens anyway

you go on and memorize your scripted fights and farm them over and over.

i'll be testing myself against real people :P

agreed.  pve gets boring real fast because the npc AI isn't complex enough.

to me the game seems about a 50/50 split pve/pvp focus.  infact they've told and shown us far less about pvp than pve.

personally i find its the PVP'ers that tend to do the most whining, they come in 3 varieties, the first being the ones who want to man up and go 1 v 1, and then whinge like crazy because they get pwned by the guys friends, and then theres the zergers who travel around in groups and whinge when they get on the wrong end of other people doing the exact same thing

the last group, the open worlders, who roam around looking for someone to kill, preferably someone already in combat with an npc of some kind, because you know, they're easier to kill

Not sure what server you guys try playing on, but I haven't seen 1 hacker in the last 2 weeks on Matherson, and maybe encountered 1 in the last month or so. That's averaging about 24 hours a week mostly during primetime.

I'm not denying the existence of a hacker problem at all, but I want to point out that SOE has made a very public display of hacker hunting and banning. Whereas hacker prevention inevitably fails in every F2P online game, SOE has done a very good job at following up that failure with an extremely active in-game anti-hacker team.

Then again, Mattherson seems to avoid most of the problems that many people complain about on these forums, probably because the server is full of many of the top outfits from PS1. We seem to police ourselves over there.

Oh, and if anyone wants to see a real state of the game or get responses from the devs like Higby and others, check out the planetside reddit page instead of feeding off of mongering on forums like this. Just some advice, since you'd be surprised and impressed with how awesome the PS2s dev team is to the community on reddit and planetside universe. That's where they go to for advice, feedback, comments, suggestions, and to mess around. Good community = good dev response, which is non-existent here.

Anyway, did you even know that the lattice system is about to be put back in next patch, OP? How's that in regards to more PS1 for ya? That's AFTER the players asked for it on sites like reddit and planetside universe. =)

sounds like the ill reputed system that came from the Underground base fights in PS1, which were universally (at least in the outfit i was in at the time) regarded as being a PITA..  as for reddit, its just another forum, and one i don't use nor intend to, nor do i use tentonhammer for that matter, which is imo at least,  a bit more reputable than reddit. But back to hacking on Matheson, it happens, a lot, most days we report someone we know is hacking, and thats just the ones we encounter, and the more obvious ones at that, as an earlier poster mentioned, there are hacks available that are less obvious, and while it may be a tad controversial, i think the only way the hacking issue is going to get sorted out, is if the game ceases to be F2P, and starts banning hackers credit cards..

It doesnt cost anything to find out, which is always a good thing, i can't really compare it to any other game out there at the moment, there are only a few classes at the moment, hopefully there will be more variation in the future. Its quest orientated, mostly single player, you can join groups but the queues are fairly long and most of the time your on your own anyway, in that sense its a lot like SW;TOR as you get a companion early on, that supplements your toon, if you choose guardian fighter, then pick up a cleric pet, and vice versa if you go cleric in game, it also plays a bit diablo'ish as your also reliant on potions to keep you alive, they have a 12 second cool down, but their plentiful and you don't really feel in any danger of running out. As a casual game its pretty good, drop in for the odd half hour and have fun, and its free, which means even if you don't like the game, you havent lost anything finding out. The combat can be repetitious, as you can end up spending a lot of time holding down the mouse button and waiting on cooldowns, a bit of cellotape can come in handy at times

hopefully this is an elaborate joke

if not, then pretty disappointing

and who cares what WOW has

its another of those laughable excuses, doesnt matter how daft an idea is, or how badly implemented, if something else did something equally as daft, then thats okay, its not their fault, its somebody elses.

And yeah, at first i thought it was some kind of elaborate hoax, somebody knocking together a piece of machinima to spoof people with, but, apparently not, they have really done this. I guess the question is, what else do they have in the works, and is it just as daft as their latest faux pas.

Lolz.  And here I thought I was the only one that noticed.

Don't worry, the news tells me everything is sunshine and lollipops.  Everyone knows the media never lies so it must all be good.  They told me to think so.

well, its because in the USA they are locked up, as opposed to disappeared.

well, it wouldnt be the first game to take a reasonably good idea, and then trash it.. doubt it will be the last either, but AA is a pretty good example of why those sorts of games don't make it in the West.. just add it to the pile i guess.

EVERy game can benefit from SWG :)

Yes, every game should emulate games that have been shut down. Makes perfect since!

@op No. Spreadsheet crafting is not fun.

just because a game is shut down does not mean it did not have good ideas, or are you one of those sheep that think WoW is the best game ever because it has the most subscribers?

and also points out how little knowledge they have of the crafting systems in SWG, the problem really is that not many games can support a crafting system with that degree of complexity. But if EQ did have a crafting system like SWG's you'd find that more players would concentrate so much on crafting that the rest of the game would be ignored, perhaps thats not such a bad thing either

It sounds like a MOBA game, but theres no way a MOBA game could take anything like this long in development, so who knows, and a game that spans different time periods, have to wait and see, but have to agree with a lot of the other posters when it comes to e-sports, as soon as i see that tag applied to something, its a massive red flag, for me at least.

Saw this thread. and thought "Really, I gotta see this" Went down to my computer, downloaded the patch, and I'm currently playing. I'm Sitting on Makeb right now.

Brilliant. so now I see this thread as:

"I'm a troll, I have no idea on how to troubleshoot my own computer and I'm going to blame that on the game because I want to!"

Let me give another example. My wife just re-intalled Rift. Thanks to Raptr she has the expansion and is once again trying out the world. However She could not log into the game without disabling the anti-virus completely. I took a look at it. checked a few things and noticed that for some reason Rift has a problem with a very particular anti-virus program. SO I dug a bit more. Fixed the problem now she can log on just fine without disabling anything.

Does this mean that Rift sucks because her computer had a problem with it? Does Rift suck because others also had the issue? OR we can actually look at the underlying issue and actually determine that it was the computer's setup and not blame the publisher?

Gotta love how everyone else is to blame.

oh,,so we all have to be computer Experts to play a mainstream mmo? how convenient

apparently, Theres this new thing, called USER FRIENDLY

if you really are the computer wiz , you claim to be, then you would know,, that certain

CPU/Graphics/OS combos can make a certain game unplayable on that machine

but unless you want to travel around the World, and troubleshoot for free,,there is a problem

It had nothing to do about being an expert on anything other than google-fu. As the op stated he had scoured the forums and found that others had the problem, this also usually indicates that if the person were to "dig further" they would have found an answer. I never claimed to be an expert I only claimed to have "dug further". That does include looking for/at any published solutions.

USER FRIENDLY does not mean universal acceptance, it means "most common factors covered" Key word is MOST. Plug-n-play is user friendly but it does not grant the greatest protection, you want better protection on a firewall it means you pony up and learn your system, or pay someone to do it for you.

the problem that had SW;TOR not working really only applied if you had windows xp, there was a patch late last night that fixed the problem, which was that when you tried to launch the game from the patcher, the game crashed to desktop immediately. but the problem is now fixed, and it was only for people with XP, which unfortunately.. included me.. but as i said, they fixed it, and now its working again.

The Cash shop is really not worth your time. I played through the entire game in 3 days and was able to obtain enough astral diamonds to afford upgrading my mount completely. I spent 0 dollars on the game and do not see any Pay-to-Win aspects as far as PvE or PvP in this game.

What? Lies! Everyone on this forum says the game is Pay to Win! You couldn't possibly have beaten the game without paying large sums of money.

Yeah I have T2s on my Control Wizard, a greater weapon enchant and most Rank 7s and have not spent a cent.  Foundry and PvP keeps it interesting. Not in any rush to head to the next game. Looking forward to new class releases and the Gauntylgrym zones.

So yeah in short, the 'grind' isnt worth spending real cash on and the game is fun.  Not pay to win at all.

its not pay to win exactly, as when you buy the keys to unlock those nightmare lockboxes, its pretty much a random drop, but, the first one i unlocked at level 11, dropped a longsword that was still better than the quest reward ones/loot drops at level 26, and i didnt replace it until level 30, and even then it still said it was the recommended item even though it did slightly less damage and had less power. but yeah, at the lower end it probably was more than a little overpowered, and may have been one of the reasons why killing things in game was 'relatively' easy, and i didnt die, and this was as a guardian fighter with a pet dog, at level 20 i decided to buy a pet cleric and their both now level 14, the dog and cleric that is. anyway, now level 30 and not a single death, but i didnt engage in pvp so i have no idea if the gloomwrought longsword was OP for that or not. i only spent £10 on buying zen and converting it to keys so i wouldnt exactly class that as paying much, as thats as much as you would pay in a month in a p2p game, however, it doesnt last long, and there are numerous methods in place to encourage you to spend even more, and while i ignored them, it has meant that i also didnt get a mount until level 29, and it took up almost all my gold to buy it. astral diamonds are in heavy use in the game, and if you intend to enchant your gear, which, imo is a good way to lose a hell of a lot of astral diamonds, as the runes you use to enchant gear is only transferable at a heavy cost in terms of astral diamonds, and you need as many runes as possible to fuse them and get better ones. any astral diamonds i had in game were used to recover rune stones so i could use them/fuse them to get better ones, if i had known ahead of time i would have just used level 1 runes, as recovering level 3 runes costs a fortune in astral diamonds.

Why risk a Tornado when you can use a free ship?

Result of battle : industry needs to replace the modules for everybody and the lost bses.

But you've still lost a good portion of the BC market.

Now let's analyze your scenario: we all stay docked. Nobody have fun. Nobody build everythinh.

It's going to be hard to have a discussion if you're going to make stuff up. Nowhere did I even suggest no one would undock.

Please indulge me and tell me why the battles are so rare in eve in your opinion. You either gank somebody on gate or belt, you fight a blob or you have space holding fights.

Tell me, how often do you think there is a 50 on 50 battle in EVE? What if I told you there was at least one every hour?

And they can balance the gold ship making it a bit worse than drake.

It's still a free battlecruiser. The stats are almost immaterial.

there are special fittings that require faction fits for t3. no point to enter in this if you don;t know it

The only Tech 3 ships in the game are Cruisers. There are no Tech 3 Battlecruisers in EVE Online.

You also said in another post:

funny enough the 80% no is close to the percentage of the carebears living in highsec and that are afraid that will become even more pray. Anything that can disturb their carebear life seems to disgust them.

You fail to provide any projection and model why would be bad, is it bad just because it is bad for YOU.

I used to love suicide ganking carebears in high sec, sometime just for their tears - their t3 ships with t2 fitt.

A good portion of that 80% isn't PVPing because they aren't interested in that aspect of gameplay. Giving them free ships to PVP with doesn't change that. It's also good to keep in mind that your follow up statements pretty much reinforce why, even with the free ships, they will remain PVP-averse.

I went through all your posts once more to see if I'm missing something, and the only things you've made clear so far are that you really aren't familiar with EVE and that you want free ships either to a) carebear it without consequence or b) draw out easy targets to grief. Either way, there are plenty of MMOs that you can go whack newbs in without risking anything.

Have you tried Aion?

Its also worth mentioning that Eve actually employs a professional economist, and he manages to keep Eve on an 'even keel' so to speak. But i would also have to agree that the OP's ideas/suggestions do seem to exhibit a certain amount of, or should i say a lack of, knowledge of the subject. Fact is, Eves economy is player driven, introducing a ship of whatever size, that isnt player manufactured/sold would disrupt the economy, it has nothing to do with the balance of players between PVP and PVE orientation, though tbh, if your playing Eve then PVP is something that will happen wherever you are, high sec after all, is not a PVP free zone, it does happen, and it happens a lot, and not just from war dec's either, although the sheer number of war dec's occuring on any given day are phenomenal. Eve is not a safe place, and its not meant to be, if the OP doesnt appreciate that, then perhaps other games that do promote consequence free PVP are more to his taste.

EQ1, SWG, Eve, DAoC, Planetside 1,  WoW..

played quite a few games besides, but they were more in the line of trying them out to see if they were any good, mostly they werent for me, the shortest period i played a game for was 9 days, which was Aion but it only beat APB by a few days
