Again, WAR may or may not be a good MMO fit for everyone. WAR is a PVP (RvR) centric game. If you dont live for group angainst group fights in your online game, WAR may not be a good choice for you.

Although Graphics are a plus, They do not make a game at all. Beauty in and of itself just isnt enough (Check out the third graph down HERE..graphics ranked 4th in importance). HOwever I would say that the biggest impact on any game is who you play it with. If you are soloing the whole way, or in a guild in which a lot of players are disenchanted..its going to affect you. Heck, with the crew I run with I probably could enjoy 3 hour minesweeper  marathons. When we rampage through the countryside leveling or raiding in an instance, everyone seems to point out cool things I wouldnt have noticed. That alone adds to the game enjoyment.

I would say, if you are unhappy with the game, but you have only soloed or just randomly chose a guild. If you have time on your accounts...It may be time to go find some new people, not a new game. It cannot hurt and I wager when you find your bunch, you will find that AoC can be a fun time.

In the wall of dispair in which this board has become..I thought I would contrast. Its not Terrible, The sky isnt falling, Wails of frustration are not seeping from the bricks and mortar. AoC is fun, for me. Perhaps not for the 10 posters above and below me. But for me...Im having a good time.

As bad as they may be, roleplaying can really only come from the MMOs. Your not going to find them on the console games. HOwever, I find that the game doesnt make roleplayers. Roleplayers are nomadic, moving from place to place, game to game for who knows what reason. I say look hard, find a clan and stick with em.

I was never a big fan of  Music in Video games (Final Fantasy 1 on the black and white gameboy probably scarred me). However I must agree with the OP. I really enjoy the Music in AoC. Especially the Intro music for the logon screend.

This is something all MMO producers should offer as a standard option for launch day if you ask me (i.e. downloads begin x days before release so players have the client ready).

Even with a weeks head start, i could only imagine the frustration of trying to download 15 gb with 100,000 other players

I put together an Age of Conan PvP guide.  Its surprising but for a lot of players this seems to be where people decide if they like this game or not. I know the grief on the PvP servers are an issue and because of that I wrote this to aid people in knowing what to expect and what to do. PvP in AoC is different from a lot of MMOs people have played (and most notably WoW). I tried to make a good primer to give people a good start and making them competative. Read it HERE

Ok, Using the MMORPG Finder. Searching for F2P MMO of any genre using the criteria of PvP gives

There are a lot of reviews out there on AoC. I wrote one HERE. There are others as well. Unfortunatly there is currently no trial account for AoC for players to decide for themselves. The best way for you to determine if AoC is a good fit for you is to email players who you knew from WOW (old guildies, etc) who are now playing AoC. Their response will be a likely less Biased. On these forums it is hard to get an informed, unbiased  answer.

I agree that problems exist in many of what you mentioned (especially for HoX) However I have yet to see any gamebreaking issue in this game for me.
