(undecided) Looking for Cabal(not multigame)
Guild Recruitment « The Secret World 5/14/12 5:08:41 PM
Evening,
Read your post looking for a Cabal. Well, I'm throwing you out an invite. Not sure if you've heard of "The Covenant of the Phoneix"? I've been with this guild for about 5 years now and made some life long friends from all over the world. It's a multi-gaming guild. Meaning we have guilds/representation in just about every major mmo out. The guys who started this date back in the Ultima Online, EQ, SWG days. It just branched off from there. We are spinning up The Secret World chapter in our guild. I'll be taking up the lead on this. I have been waiting for this game for a long time now and playing beta. Its awesome! I mainly play healers. My favorite class is the Disciple in Vanguard. I really got use to getting down in the mix with the tank or off tank. TSW kinda has a build that is very similar so it's PERFECT! Please take the time to head over to our website and check us out. If you like what we are about, Please by all means register! We have yet to decide what faction, but most of the folks I've hit up for a recruitment are Dragon loyal. I myself wouldn't mind going Dragon.
Look us up, If you do register with us. Tell them Jayvyn sent you.

It's actually nicely evened out. Let's say we use a nice round number like; 1000 players I=296 D=300 T=318 Undecided=86 As far as how the age/maturity/experience group fit's in these numbers will truly determine who will reign supreme. I hope its about this at launch. |

interesting post regarding pvp from lead designer Martin Bruusgaard
General Discussion « The Secret World 1/20/12 6:39:33 PM
I've played a few pvp'ish mmo's. My favorite was Vanguard, FFA server. I was really never good at pvp. But it was so much freakin fun. Depend on the guilds and what kind of pvp "ethics" your guild had you just kinda stuck with it. If you were in a guild that ganked people and I just happen to pass through a city while you were crafting....POW! I hope you lost some rare mats. But for the most part it was a community with it's own set of social rules. For TSW, I'm seeing a great deal of parallelism with AO. I just hope these warzones have quests to where everyone has to pass through or accomplish a task in. I thought it was a good read. |

My God...This will be the best mmo ever !

Don't forget, AO is still alive and kicking. So they must have done something right. |

The Secret World: The Same But Different
News Discussion « General Discussion 7/21/11 1:58:51 PM
LOL, I noticed the same thing. BUT, I actually like it! I thought that it was maybe to save time for development, who knows. I'll take it a step further, the classless model kinda reminds me of an....Agent in AO. You could be come any class anytime...a weaker one but a useful one. This whole game reminds me of AO. Hmmm..I can't wait for the engine update. I think I'll be playing both AO&TSW. |

"Specialized" Gear Might Destroy My Hopes of True Hybrid
General Discussion « The Secret World 7/17/11 8:55:46 PM
I remember hearing about drops that will benifit certain focused rolls, i.e Tank specs. If a drop doesn't work with a build you are focusing on......SELL IT and make some cash. I like the idea of having focused rolls. I plan on being a great healer. So anything that will up my advantage of healing, I'll take it. I understand that this game will offer limitless directions, but I'm still old school. I just want to heal. |

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience Mr Sneakyman. I actually ran AO using Cedega for a years. My Pic http://cdn.cedega.com/gamesdb/screenshots/images/1066.jpg I took this a long time ago. It worked great! Most games/publishers don't have a "call-in" customer service. Just an email or an in-game que for help. A lot of my issues were found on troubleshoot on the forums. Most of the times it's the players that help eachother out by posting common problems on forums and sharing solutions. I'm looking forward to The Secret World, will it be perfect? Bug free, lag free, system incompatabilities? I'm sure they will have some issues, but the game concept alone has me sold to take a risk, yes a risk with Funcom. Good luck on you gaming ventures. --Highttower |

Yeah, Happy 10th B-Day AO. This was my first MMORPG. Very complicated game even for todays standards. I'm just waiting for the graphics update. I use to co-lead a clan called "Double Helix". back in the day. Great times!
I wish I could be there for the Party. I hear Funcom knows how to throw an awesome RL party. Grats Funcom on keeping such a classic game in service! |

The Secret World: Joel Bylos and Dag Scheve Interview
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/27/11 10:29:39 AM
One thing that is/was popular in Anarchy Online was the social expression to dress, look the way you want to look. The choice of all the clothes! The social events & parties run by the people/gamers are/were always epic! I'm hoping that TSW and the players embrace this same tradition. Great interview! |

What if Funcom offered and MMORPG bundle
General Discussion « The Secret World 4/26/11 8:04:00 AM
Originally posted by jpnole In regards to AO, it will be more than just a graphics update. It's a total intergration of the same engine used for AoC with some artwork enhancments as well. In addition, there will be the long awaited, dev intended, balance completion of all the classes. If they were to bundle all three Funcom games with a reasonable monthly flat rate, I'd sub. |

I was excited when I read the topic. I slowly scrolled down from number 5 to number 1. I honestly thought AO was going to take number 1. AO was my first mmorpg. I've played several mmo's after...including EVE. AO hands down needed to be listed. One post mentioned something about a freakin spreadsheet to choose which implants to use and what to stack what in order to get the stats you want. That was kinda how you had to plan the progression. Several programs were written by fans to help out with this. That game had so much. I'd drop all my games in a heart beat if they came out with an AO'2 or something. Disappointed in the round-up. AO for number 1, the steepest learning curve. EVE a real close second. |

For several years I've been hearing the whispers of Darkfall. To my shame, I just registered today with the official forums and been reading hundreds of posts....I'M SOLD! I am so impressed with the degrees of freedoms this game will have to offer. Graphics, shmantics. It's content that lives on through the people. Heck! one of my favorite game of all time which I still PAY for is Anarchy Online. I'm not a big FFA PVP player but this game is on the edge and I want to be part of the history that this game will make. I don't know much about the company/producers, but I am glad they stuck it our with there dreams of creating this seemless word they will be sharing with us. On that note, I am HYPED! See you soon or my blade will!
