This site should be shut down for what they said about warlods of their reviews , first impressions it is magically of the worst releases lol.

What a colossal waste of money. Literally everything that mmorpg's don't need or care about. I mean the core concept sure but then the detail of what they really mean?


dynamic world sure can be nice but let's be real this is never done correctly and might never be able to be done correctly with the number of players interacting with the world and content, There will never be meaningful dynamic worlds worth creating. SO cheers another half asses dynamic changing world.


heroic status? Look we just need proper risk reward the entire "heroic" concept is overplayed again this is a game, we all want to play it, we all want to be different but anytime you are wasting your time crafting content for that one dude to the hero you are wasting your time, thousand of us play the game and want fun exciting content.


Skill is a player attribute...look this is a mmorpg not a twitch shooter actual player skill is minimal when it comes to mechanics if i want a game with mechanics that determine skil i'll play one, when i play an RPG I want my skill to be on my character and the skill to simply be my knowledge how to use my character best etc...The real problem with current mmorpgs is that everything has been dummied down so not even your character has skill let alone you.


Not going to argue with you need something to draw the player in, I think guild wars 2 has don that the best as far as world design events etc....again though the problem the entire RPG part of these games has been oversimplified and guildwars 2 is the perfect example. Plenty of stuff to do alive feeling world to interact with but zero reason to do it. Poor loot system, players zerg the content, character development is mediocre at best, extreme simple combat with no layers or interactions. I am not talking some tier loot grind system either which is its own evil, I am talking deep character development and it being tied to the gameworld so that you can have a world that draws you in everyday but with reason to develope your character as you interact with the world not to help the hobgoblins take over the ogre townin the middle fo the field.


Realism just wow I couldnt argue more....I got realism every day in my real life i dont need it in my video game. Now I do want things to make sense and be logical from with in my fantasy world but please in no way do i want realism in my fantasy rpg game. This is a huge area they have ruins MMORPG's wasting loads of time on crafting systems....I get it a few people like to craft but those people should be playing bejeweled because beyond that the only thing crafting serves is for some money making scheme for the few people who will play bejeweled in am mmorpg for weeks just to make in game currency. ENOUGH WITH THE CRAFTING. I should never ever ever have to skill up crafting, instead i should simply  need to collect crafting materials recipes in my adventuring and then bring them to a npc and he crafts it for me bam done no stupid crafting leveling treadmill. Save the time money and make a real gameworld with endless content.


Sad I read the title and was excited, now I am laughing about the colassal waste of money that will be invested into this vaporware pile of junk. I am sure a few people think it sounds fun good for them but overall this isnt remotely what the mmorpg genre needs.

Look crowfall has an experienced team alright experienced in creating epic rubbish and everything is pointing to yet another pile of poop from these collaboration of poop creators.

Ugly world, ugly animations, silly theory crafted systems that don't actually do anything but shuffle the same parts we all seen hundreds of times.  Akak another money grab from industry failures.

More cheesy dev speak as they ramble on like they understand the industry because they have been a designer. Look this is the fact the designers are clueless and they keep regurgitating out WORSE AND WORSE products. They think they understand gamers, they even think they are gamers , but they are not and they are bad theory crafters who keep shoveling out the same uninspired boring simplistic garbage with some simple augmentations.


15 years of mmo's not once have a single dev taken the time to create a DEEP system that can have content shoveled out constantly, nor a game system that is deep and rich. Instead over and over game is released with 1-4 end game dungeon content with maybe a silly hard mode version, 9 months later to release another 2 dungeons. Stats systems that are literally simplified to  hp/armour and 1 primary stat. Simple combat with no layers no teamwork. The most boring and bland loot system ever herr derr your new chest peice has 1 more str than yor last so exciting! No risk, no rewards, no excitement, no goals, no feeling of power spikes, no feeling of achievement. Just more of the same open field linear questing with linear rewards and a advancement system that has 3000 people on the server looking and playing identically.


same stale enviroments, most mundane bestiaries (really i am killing rats snakes  dogs and bugs and bears again?)  retreaded boring skill system (oh hey i got fireblast rank 8 it does 4% more dmg than fireball rank 7 man I am so juiced to get out there with my new found power! while i quest around a grassy field killing "orange bears instead of black bears with a new name", of course they will drop trivially useless things like pelts, but when i turn in my 12 bear pelts i will get a new sword that has .01% more dps and 1 more str than the last one you gave me 3 quests ago.


BUT ALL OF THAT IS OKAY because this genious developers has created a soul shard system (ok actually it is a talent tree like every other game has but instead of getting skill points you collect souls to buy the talents) oh goody i just got my new soul talent thingy by gosh i now have 1% more health i cant wait to get rank 2 and get 1.5% more health!!!


K you ge the point these guys are all trash at thier job and that is why these games have sucked mega dicks for about 12 years STRAIGHT.

That was some of the most epic whining about nothing i have seen in a while. Sorry Bill you and players like you are a large part of the reason mmo's suck.


Let's break down your complaints.

1) had to like play the game to unlock an EXTRA class (2 hours is not long and if it is you shouldn't be playing MMORPG's) these games are supposed to keep you occupied for years not 2 weeks. Then the real complaint is the class you unlocked wasnt your cup of tea. BLAME THE DEVLOPERS ROFL.


2) Next complaint is cant get everything you want instantly omg "i didnt get the blue type xp i wanted thus everything else is 100% waste of my time". Wrong the rest of that stuff has use just not what you wanted to blitz through so you can wrap up your review.

Game is a game problem is you play it simply for work purposes, and then blame the game?


The next result is people like you destroyed MMO's wanting everything to be this instant gratification WOW clone. Cause you really dont like to PLAY the games you just want to blitz through and check everything out.

The new duty finder and increased story quest xp just killed the entire world this game has to offer. The people who have completed the main story on their main class will only be grinding duty finder due to getting rushed through for fast xp. Especially since the Fate xp nerfs. This means a large number of people will be seen in cities waiting on ques, while all the new players are out in an empty world doing the story quests...and not much else. [mod edit] It was clear you get to chose HOW YOU WANT TO PLAY, and that is the core of what a GOOD mmo should do, not dictate  who/how/what/where/when you play provide the world you forge your way as you chose to.


Also no the core of a mmo is not retreading old content because you have no choice, the game world is progressing to new content not sure why you feel being forced to tread through old content as a gate acheives anything. That said FF14 has done a wonderful job historically speak of creating smart ways to induce players to reuse the old world IF they want to, and giving us even more choices is even better like being able to rip through an old dungeon for your relic weapon IF you want to or do it  scaled down with a full part IF you want to.

Eh man this is a load of BS, because for years the standard has been "just because you have more time does mean you are better than everyone" when it clearly shouldn't.


I believe the only people put off by pay win style cash shops are those who usually use time to win, and they loathe the idea they cant just steam roll everyone with over whelming play time. Most people care less if you want to pay to win provided it isn't the only option and that those who chose not to pay can also get the same stuff.

Alot of people have real lives and they need pay to win to catch up with  he no lifers who pour 16 hours a day 7 days a week into these games. So again add pay to win provided it is not the only option to win aka provide all options to all the different types of gamers.

Let me spell it out for you, it is that playing for 40 is long time for an mmo, it is that EVERYTHING IS GATED BEHIND IT. So you are excited you just hit level 50 what next..... oh you got 40 hours of boring generically shitty errand boy quests of running back and forth over and over and over and over, add in a liberally amount of "duty finder que times" as you wait to to get a full party which takes forever if you are dps just to do the same old content you already did because you must redo it to pass go.


It isnt fun questing it isnt interesting, it is a BURDEN that you you have to slog through or quit to continue playing the game.


Laslty just to put you in your place for being a shitbird retard. I have all 8 jobs level 50. I played the game alot and that story line quest was utterly painful and 100% should have opt out  for those who are not enjoying it.


Really enjoy FF14, taking a break for now but if you never done it the main stroy line you are forced to do is easily the worst feature of the game. It is like 200 quests many of which are very bland boring, and or gated by having to complete some of the end game content.

I love how it leads you to the end game content but the sheer number of quests that gate you from accessing the content is way WAY overboard specially if you are newer and have to eat them all up at once as opposed to veteran players who only have ot knock out the little bits that are added at updates.

Wildstar, just simply be revamped, I think its core was very good, but fairly uninteresting classes and abilties, tied in with abysmal visuals and a dated engine means 100% failure.

I dont want to here chirping about how YOU get off on simplistic cartoony visuals most people don;t especially in a sci fi theme. If wildstar had modern visuals and had stuff to a solid sci fi theme artwise i would been block busters.

Not sure why both the developers and the stupid reviewers fail to understand these basic concepts. Oh ya now I remember they really don't actually play games anymore, they just dabble even less than the most casual of casual players.

Look it is simple stop with your psuedo smart guy theory crafting. All of these MMO's have been dumbed down so far that you get bored in short order. Not sure how many times you think people can run the same raid/dungeon over and over and over and over, especially when you already got the meager amount of loot and progression your character can make.

Wanna fix MMO's? Design an MMO with a rich character development system. Huge stats sheets, multiple equipment "profiles/pages" to accrue to provide set ups for many different types of fights, stop making the game so simple that I gear up grade that simply keeps raising my 2 primary attirbutes lol what a joke.

Finally design a system that allows you to CRANK out unique fun entertaining end game content. You want people to play these mmo's for years....then provide the appropriate content. The current development and release cycle for mmo content is a joke, i mean a real joke often taking full development teams over 3-6 months to drop one new short simple dungeon? Get your shit together mmo industry.

I hav eplayed even more and how every many things TSW does amazingly it does as many so bad it ruins the game, the abilties poor bland, the loot, poor bland, the animations, just ugly, the progression...oh man how you hit a brick wall come q10 rare plus.

Another classic funcon blunder, they come so close to making what a true mmo should be and yet screw it up at the most basic core, with art, animations along witht he other things i mentioned.

Also the cost for the issues is really expensive for what amoutns to a pile of quests.

Loe the dev speak god what BS. We dont want "creep or bloat" for our end game progression so instead of giving you sword of doom that adds 10 dmg we will give you super fly a mastery that allows you to glide for 2% further distance.

you want to make money as a game developer you need to produce products, and ones that are successful aka people buy and subscribe to them. So there is a chance you are right but more than likely daybreak will continue to develope, they might run a tighter ship, they might become more EA style or what not, but lets be silly SOE was a corp who most likely had the same goals as daybreak will, and daybreak took over with the beleif they could run things better than SOE was.

Oct 11 to Oct 12 is one year and three months later is Jan. 2013.

Just play FF14 ARR get 100 time sbetter product and respect for your money in the west also.

There is a ton of "crap" and "disingenuous" BS that has been spewed about this game with absolutely no fact checking done.  I personally blame SOE for this because as the "publisher" this was their job.  To make sure the public was properly informed about this game, but they dropped the ball almost as quickly as they opened the curtains on this game.

That is not "many years".  The developers had planned to port their game over to NA/EU regions form the start, they just needed a publisher first.  At the time that the launch occurred in Jan 2013, the content was approximately a year behind JP content but even SOE made a commitment to close that gap.  Unfortunately, as we started gaining ground the rug was pulled out from underneath us.

What's insulting, sir, are inaccurate comments from users who are either too lazy to check the facts, or worse, are purposely trying to deceive.
