I hope it isn't true because this game could be great.  I still think it's funny that out of their fansite listings one hasn't been updated since March, one is completely missing(404), and then there is this one.

You start a thread called "Mortal Online OR Darkfall" and have a "BOTH" option in the poll? That just confuses the result.

They do seems to have a few problems at the moment judging from all the complaints in the official forums.

Oh good god give it a rest. If it was a good review and someone said this game is the shit , you would be all happy and warm inside. Let the reviews come in good or bad and take it like we all do. Your beloved game is doing ok but it  isn t as good as many hoped.

A review from a supposed "top game mag" in the UK should be written professionally weather I agree with the review or not.

The review seems pretty fair and professional, as the vast majority of the posters in this thread seem to indicate in their posts.

Since mmorpg's usually improve over time, especially after the launch period, you should take the review's mediocre rating of AoC as a good "low base" from which the game will improve upon over time.

That's a pretty good review, and by good I mean truthful and without added fanboi hype.

With a little luck Funcom can improve the higher areas and fix some of the worst problems before they start asking for the monthly subscriptions.

Of course, the lack of  proof for a game that is in decent shape makes me very skeptical.  There is a game (IMO) but what shape is that game in?  Less than 6 months to release, and we have been shown very, very little.  From my experience, this indicates a game that is in bad shape.

I have to agree with you, but the game really has no gameplay footage. Well there is gameplay, but they are basicly just trailers. They don't even show an interface. So basicly what we may be looking at is a movie, rather than a game.

I agree with you on DF being a train wreck if it is released. If it took them so long to develop a game, can we expect the developers to fix bugs, and add features in a timely manner, So the long development cycle isn't the only problem with Darkfall. 

Aventurine has been developing Darkfall for over 7 years. How many years will it take them to make an expansion pack. I think that is something that almost everyone looking forward to Darkfall has overlooked. If Darkfall is released then great, will it hold up for long, I think not.

I think you're being a little unfair. Games like AoC and Vanguard made use of existing game-world technolgy like the DreamWorld engine, the Unreal engine and SpeedTree, allowing them to be rushed out quite quickly.

Aventurine on the other hand have developed their own proprietary technology for Darkfall, which is an additional extra job to do and one that will take extra years of development time.

The reason this determines weather i play or not, is the simple fact that roleplaying communities are generally way friendlier and more fair than to a casual gaming community. If we are only given a PvP server in darkfall, all the roleplayers are just gonna get ganked the whole time and cities will be ruled by leetkiddies, or people who have no care for Roleplay.

I'm guessing yes ... but that's just a guess. The official Darkfall forums have a RP section and most other mmorpg's that I know of also have RP servers ... so I'd be surprised is there were no RP servers in DF.

No "experience penalty" or anything as lame ans that. Mainly it's like real life. You get killed - you drop a corpse - the corpse has ALL your stuff - your corpse can be looted.

Think of Darkfall as a first-person shooter when it comes to equipment and death.

Other forums are usually moderated. Here, in this godforsaken section of the mmorpg forums, there is almost no moderation and the trolls have completely taken over. Though there is some trolling in the AoC and Warhammer sections, they never let it get as bad as in here where "OMGZ, DARKFAILZ IS TEH VAPORWAREZ!!!11!!" pretty much sums up the majority of the threads, posts and posters here.

It is really sad because even after 7 years, no one can actually prove Darkfall exists or is in development. Theres maybe 1-2 videos of the game, the last one was in february showing an animation of a human running.

Eh? Windows has an uninstall utility in the control panel. You don't need an uninstall link in your game folder to get rid of crappy games like Vanguard or AoC.
