Read that thread. That pic was proved to be fake.

I can't get the links muffin claims shows the pic is fake to load up, even when I sign into TTH. Did TTH say it was fake?

Click the pic. There's an address link in the address bar of the browser which identifies both the thread and the post. The links in muffins post link to both that thread and that post. Neither work, therefore no thread and no post.

ie - it doesn't exist.

It just proves the rule - take everything you find on mmorpg with a handfull of troll-salt.

Read that thread. That pic was proved to be fake.

It's dying anyway. The combination of Darkfall, Warhammer and WotLK should put it out of its long suffering misery.

Good to see they've admitted the other videos were not pure in-game video, and had scripting, simulation, and/or post-processing.

Tasos never said that. Stop making stuff up.

From the link -

Hello,

I thought to quickly check in before too much more time passes. As we step up publishing activities, the updates should increase in frequency and quality, which should make up for the ones we’ve been missing the last months. We take for granted sometimes that the Darkfall community is savvy enough to understand the limitations of independent game development and make allowances, however we’re also keeping track of what we need to give you in order for you to know exactly what you’re getting into with Darkfall.

On progress, there are no major problems to report, some minor delays maybe here and there which don’t affect our timeline. Most of us had a short break, the last for a long time. Everyone is back and we officially entered into our crunch period on Monday. We’ve had several new people join the company the past month, and more on the way.

There's a video coming out, most probably next week, or shortly after. We’re talking about a long 100% in-game pure gameplay trailer with no scripting, no simulation, no post-processing. It’s us play-testing while fraps is running on free cameras and playercams and all the footage was collected and edited. The scenarios for it had to be run as part of our testing and development schedule as they came up. Nothing is scripted. We wanted to give you something that can put you in the true spirit of the game and this requires us to be actually playing the game like you would be, and not just taking you on a sightseeing tour or have a company make a marketing cinematic trailer for us.

If you're experiencing problems with the website and the forums it's because these days we're upgrading our webservers and this should be going on most of next week as well. Thank you for your patience.

Our next update would be the video, so until then, thanks for reading

Guys, let it go. This game is never going to happen. Is everyone still truly surprised when stuff like this happens with Darkfall? People's loyalty to something that doesn't exist blows my mind. Find something else to play!
Cheers

prove it

Prove to me DF is real. Crappy screens and vids don't mean anything, I need proof. Random fans who act fishy when they write their articles about how they visited Adventurine doesn't count. Still, technically, no publisher, still no video, and not even a beta date.

Until they do something, I am still inclined to believe DF is vaporware.

lol

You're in a really weak position to say any of that Mikey. You're a fanboi of some gawd-awful game called Citadel of Suckery, who became a MMORPG correspondent for that flaming turd of eventual failure.

Can you prove that Citadel of Suckery exists? They have just 10 'screenshots' that look like they were modelled in a free 3D program by abject ammeters.

They even claim to have a game world "larger than the entire surface of the Earth with the oceans included!"

Yeah ... sure ... Darkfall is vaporware.

*rolleyes*

The only date they stated for the video is "August".

It's still August.

They had a huge drop between Monday Aug 4th and yesterday. Over a 25 % drop from 17077 down to 12478. If this trend holds the rest of the week it will not surprise me if it drops below 10K before the week is out. To be fair though both EvE and LoTRO's numbers were down more than normal also so there are some other factors involved here. I suspect back to school activities.

I notice that every weekend peak is lower than the previous weekend peak.

30487

27201

22180

20217

17512

That must be a 40% drop over the last month alone. If this continues then it'll definitely be at or below 10000 next month.

9% drop from july 26 to aug 02 , Aug 03 should be about 21, 000 plus or minus 500 if the trend holds steady and Aug 04 numbers should be low 17's or high 16's.

I was off by about 800, real number was 20217, about a 10% drop from Sunday the 27th. If that holds true for today that will put todays figures around 16,500. Lets see if I can get in the ballpark this time.

The Monday figures seem to average 6,000 less than the previous Sunday figures over the last month, so maybe your figure of 16,500 is a bit high?

I'm guessing it will be 20,000(Sunday) - 6,000 = 14,000 ... but that may be too pessimistic.

Should be interesting to see.

From 20 to 16 gone back up 4 spots

Awesome. But is this because their numbers increased, or because 4 other games numbers decreased? It's all in the spin. Good job Avery. ;)

So you have a problem with me saying its gone up or anything that can be seen as positive? nice one mate
why didn't you say anything about this post a couple up from mine, or you just looking to retaliate?

From 16 to 20 in one day. It is falling fast now.

So if I was to say its climbing fast now, you lot would still try to throw crap around...

The thing is that AoC's figures get substantially boosted over weekends, unlike other mmorpg's like WoW, Silkroad and Guild Wars which are mostly stable through the week.

Of course both EVE Online and Lotro also get substantial weekend boosts, but their figures are stable and are not trending downward like AoC's (though nose-diving might be more a more appropriate term considering that GW, once lower than AoC, now has twice the gaming hour figures of AoC)

It started August at #20

It's going to get over-taken by EVE Online at this rate. Let's hope the playerbase stabilises soon.

I just wanted to let you all know this. I know it's quite shocking and interesting but it's a fact, there are girls in MMO.

This is a lie. It's a well established fact that there are no girls on the interwebs.

Those that DO claim to be female are always lonely males practising gender-bending.

LOL! silly boy. Yes real girls do play, start using a headset and cam when you play so you can realize this. We were actually born this way and everything! our round things are higher. It is all the pixel boys in dresses giving us a bad rep.

Friction hits Deviliscious with a Dry Humour spell.

Deviliscious critically fails her saving throw.

Deviliscious is hit for 27,000 points of embarrassment damage.

o.o

EDIT - @AmazingAvery - For a company to be given a widely used insult (Funcomed/FunCon/etc) that alleges shady dealings isn't good for the company's rep or business.

They banned you for that?!?

Full sized cartoon here for anyone who can't read the text.

Yay for me!

One last note to close this out this interview of current status and future plans in AoC, players can expect the Xbox360 version of the game to launch in late 2009.

Late 2009 is when they expect AoC to be 'complete' enough for a console launch? So basically AoC will essentially be in paid-for-beta for over a year?!?

:wow:

Why was it called a merger between the two companies?

It was never a merger. It was never called a merger.

And for the last time, Aventurine is making Darkfall ... not Razorwax.

Riiiiight, they're just exactly the same people that filed bankruptcy but just made a new company instead.
Righty o....we'll believe ya..not.

You have your time-line wrong there.

The Razorwax team jumped ship and were integrated into Aventurine in 2002. Four years later this abandoned company (Razorwax) with no employees slid into bankruptcy.
