I'm in for sure. I was glued to the desk for 3 days straight. My wife had flashbacks of the all nighters I used to pull. |

I posted in the wrong thread. Sorry. |

I'm expecting the religious beliefs of the developers to be attacked next. |

I've been gaming since Half Life was released. My first MMO was EnB. I'm a picky, jaded gamer these days. I rarely finish games and I am highly critical of most. If anyone has been there and done that, it's me. I'm a burnt out PC elitist. That being said, I had an awesome time with Beta 4! Even though the game rehashes much of what we've experienced over the years, it does it well. I was glued to the desk for 3 days straight and playing into the wee hours. It's not often a game can get me to do that. My wife had flash backs of me pulling all nighters back in the day. Rift is comparable to other games but has its own personality. This personality makes it fun to play with and appealing to look at. I knew going in that it was going to be a rehash, so my expectations were low. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they managed to pull it all together. This may not be a game you liked or expected to see. On the flip side, there are many more that got exactly what they wanted. I see nothing wrong with taking good ideas of the past and bringing them all together to deliver everything I love about the genre. They did it in top quality fashion and added a few twists of their own. It's content packed from the start, stable, a great base to work off of and the devs are well ahead of the game. They already have a year or more worth of ideas ready in the waiting. If those ideas bear fruit, players will feel like it's money well spent. It's what they want to see when subscribing. The devs also seem to want to listen to its greatest resource; its players. That right there means a lot to me in this day and age of console ports and quick buck rip-offs. I see potential where others may not. I'll invest in that. |

Well stated, arieste. Plain and simple. More than a few times, I had hub locked down and overrun. I'd get on chat and call for help. More than likely, there are many others needing that hub cleaned out as well. 5 or 10 minutes later, here comes the gang...30+ strong. Then it's on. More people come to join in this huge battle. It's over, you get some rewards and the hub is back to normal. I found myself waiting to turn in to follow the players on their trek to the next rampage. Lots of fun! Riftstalkers can even accelerate tears and bring down chaos in an instant. It was cool hanging with folks looking for tears to open up. |

Are you still going on about the NDA? It was lifted in December. There are more than a few posts about this in the Rift forum. A Staff member mentioned ignoring the NDA warning. It was tweeted as well.... http://twitter.com/Riftgame/statuses/17685259017519104 There's an article here mentioning the lift..... http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/431/feature/4834 The closing message after this past weekend's beta was, now go tell all your friends and guildies. Funny how you insist everyone go and read. All YOU had to do is type 'NDA Lifted' in the Rift forum search box and saved yourself the embarrassment. |

Flame bait. ^^ |

Agreed. The wait will be tough. |

The Rift community was great this past weekend. I felt it was comparable to the Lotro community of yore on Brandywine (pre-f2p). |

Both posts are valid in my opinion. This is what WAR should have been. And I love the fact that we are very versatile right from the start. Also, by starting off 'small', they can cater to the needs of the player base as the need to grow comes about. There may be no need for some time. But we do know what happens when you try to take things away even if the removal is valid. |

Although we've never met, I'm one of those people. I raise my one toon to the max, play the hell out of him, enjoy the game for what it's worth and move on. One toon and one toon only. I just can not stand starting over. I'm the type of person that only plays a game once or only watches a movie once. I hate reruns to. We do exist. |

You'd be surprised how many people I know with high end rigs that still turn the graphics down on multiplayer games, for example. Not everyone is into eye candy. I was able to run the game on ultra with an E8500 and a 4870. Far from high end. At least Trion provided plenty of options for graphics tweaking. |

Talk about being dramatic! I'm as jaded as the next player but Rift was all out fun to play. The game is content rich right out of the gate, stable as hell and has enough variety to satisfy most players. Trion has an incredible base to work with. I think they are far ahead of the game and can get right down to tweaking and expanding from the start. |

My god.... |

LOL...he listed his specs for the hell of it. As good as the video is, it doesn't do the game justice. Looks great on Ultra. |

Great video! |

Agreed. A quality MMO that's a ton of fun to play. I purposely plowed through content because I wanted to save the story/NPC chatter for launch. |
