Anyone else bailing?   When will they announce pvp rewards for the FFA PVP server? What is point of rolling on an FFA PVP server, get killed left and right, and not get any loot whatsoever for PVP? We just gonna level like 10x slower then the normal servers

you won't have carebears on AOC you can trust me..

Everyone has the same problem. Before AOC/WAR/AION ... i play these games (i change)

- Solo games : The Witcher, GothicIII, Arx Fatalis, TwoWorlds and again KOTOR 1 ! Warhammer Mark of Chaos. Lord of the ring BFME 1 and 2. Oblivion + mod Lotr (just discovered on FP)

- MMORPG: DAOC (1.92) , WWIIONLINE, gonna try Eve Online, maybe coming back to Vanguard, really beautiful game and NOW we have flying mounts with GU4.

Tried to play lotro again because of aoc and war reporting but gave up, even PVP is boring. Can't pay subs only for visiting the Shire... beautiful area but nothing to do with my 50.

lotro is always living because AOC WAR WOLTK TCOS AION won't be ready before 2+ months.

Forget Lotro. This game won't be Lord of the Ring with great battles or MEO. No strategy, not even Role playing. Only a nice polished and small game.

In no way meant to insult you but there's one thing with these type of posts I'll never understand. Here we have a player that played a game since beta in 2006, got a character to level 50 and obviously spend a lot of time in PvMP. Yet he thinks the game is boring, that there's no strategy and no role-playing.

Yup, gotta agree, always confuses the hell outa me too.

Easy to explain: i don't like the game, i dreamed about Lotr in MMO.

This game won't be Lotr online. Only SOA. Now i'm sure. tried last time this month because dev talked about Angmar"s rewamp. There's no rewamp. It's a joke.

1° I'm a tolkien's fan. (LOTR since 25 years ) thought Turbine could produce something. Something interesting (Moria Minas tirith rohan something)

2° gave many chances to this game. Stopped came back not for this game but for LOTR. Stopped came back.

Decided to give up.
Happy havent payed for lifetime subs.

There's nothing more but another small wow clone. Even Fror is a dead place (on fr servers)

Lotro won't survive to AION/WAR/WOLTK/SGW etc.

I'm a tolkien's fan completely disppointed. This game isn't for Tolkien's fans , PVPers or RP. This game is a short living game (Between BC to WOLTK). I don't think we'll have Moria etc... on Lotro. This game is a mistake, a dream for AC2 players and fans.

Lotro is nice and fun from lvl 1 to 3O/35

not bad after 35 but becomes really boring after 40. You'll have to farm all time (books, craft, even MP = farming. You farm other players for RANK. )

Most of players stopping subs have high lelv  avatars.

I have a 50/ranked in MP (hero)

Still have quests to do but can't win XP, most of time 1 make 1shot on 45+ mobs, really boring. Areas are empty, players are in Ettens, fun 1H by week that's all.  Don't want to make a reroll (same quests same areas...)

This month will be my last one on Lotro (started on beta 2006). Started trial of DAOC, great game. Old but really great.

 Lotro: polished game/Nice. And boring. Wow, EQ2 and VG 's PVE are better, DAOC" or Eve s PVP are better. Lotro is nice but inconsistent.

Waiting now for AOC/AION/WAR and I play DAOC, (sometimes EQ2, waiting for GU5/VG)

I play VG all in High res with a Sinclair ZX81 ok.

I play this game imo this game is great but he needs 3 go ram + 512 unless you like CTD reboot and type /flush 1X/Hour. With a dual core + 3 go ram + Ati 512 under XP pro (not vista !) i only play in medium/low res, balanced mode. Can play High res, but it becomes a diaporama! a slide show...

For the birthday in khal, had  2 FPS, everyone present knows that.

Yeah agree this is ridiculous.

I play VG, think this game is really great can't stop and change for lotro etc, but also think he needs more improvements. Vg isnt finished yet. And you need 2,5/3GO ram + 512 video.


Bought more ram + new video card FOR VG.

So my computer is ready for AOC, war etc. Before, had only 1 Go ram + 256 and couldn't play ! It was a nightmare. Now it's great but 3 Go ram + 512 ati !

Wait for  GU4 or GU5.

VG is buggy, needs a big computer but it has MUCH more to propose than a repetitive bashing, and 4 boring classes.

Told what i think about  VG AND last extension of EQ2 on OFFICIAL forums, explained why etc on official SOE Contact (community )

No banishment at all, very nice people; cool and they let you SAY what you want: i have permanent contacts with SOE , nice contacts.  nice people nice contacts, productor himself talks directly to players on forums.

1° never beeing banished or something else, NEVER. Never had a problem with SOE, they always answer, by PM etc. I'm in contact with EU community manager since 4 months, each week we talk by PM.  Never had 1 pb, even when i said and wrote on official forums ROK wasn't interesting, no more no less than a wow like extension.

2° SOE is really working on this game and i can say TRial is approaching. April or MAYBE march (cf PM from SOE)

never had problems with SOE, Mythic/GOA, CM/Turbine/ or  Funcom or Blizzard etc etc etc. NEVER. They are ALL professionals. All of them.

The pbs you can have ? Only with some players, specially with fanboys and hateboys.

Re-subbed a week ago...VERY MUCH IMPROVED! PLAYABLE! FUN!

This game reminds me of EQ1 when it began, it dont take you by the hand and wipe your ass for you, you gotta explore and actualy work at it.

The FPS is much better now, the toons combat animations are kinda cool.

Flying mounts, boats /ships, and  mobs that aint too keen to let you just run away haha.

I hope soe dont water this down like the did with EQ2   "RUN AWAY".

It needs re-launched with some advertising.

you dont need 3gb of ram to play this either, 2 is good enough.

Games have allways pushed the hardware forwards, and okay at "Launch" it was asking a lot.

But now hardware dont cost that much, and its worth it, this game looks very nice (toons need more makeup options though).

So IMHO I advise you to try this game out now.

Its just right challenge wise, and most importantly i find it lottsa FUN!

 

 

 

 

Personal flying mounts aren't created yet. FTM you can take a FM 10 mn . FM = next GU4, end of feb.

This game is nice great and cool but it's not finished yet. I stopped VG... 1 week, tried SWG and lotro ... and stopped again and came back to VG, the only MMORPG i can actually play .

But you can't say all features have been implemented. Th'ey 'll be implemented in next GU4, and for the trial   (march/april) VG 'll be complete. not before.

VG is great, impressive and rich but needs a "super pc"; dual core, 3Go ram, 512 ram video under XP are needed. No doubt at all.

Truth must be told if you want player coming back. If you talk like a vanboy, you won't be trusted. Tell the truth, explain what is GREAT in this game, and say what's wrong. You must speak about everything, even Dark Side.

Vanguard is imo the opposite of LOTRO

Lotro: few classes, few races, poor craft, small areas, but polished, tech.. perfect ,works with all computers etc but we're not free at all etc

Vanguard: a lot  of classes, of race (all interesting imo), GREAT craft, LARGE areas (impressive), great game, but not polished yet, even if soe works hard on it and improved it .Diplomacy is great and proves a MMORPG can propose something else than stupid bash. you feel absolutely free in this game (if you don't have a CTD lol)

Imo lotro is the present of medfan pve

Vanguard is the future of medfan pve

This is simply not true. YOu obviously missed a game Asheron's Call 2 made by Turbine in 2002. It used the same engine as LOTRO. Same interface. It was a first linear heavy solo quest oriented game with simple mechanics, no xp death penalty.. and overall very simple linear game. WoW copied it completely. Lotro is just an evolution from AC2 not WoW. Lotro is Asheron's Call 3 in Middle Earth world.

Had fun from lvl 1 to 35 then lotro became boring. Stopped at lvl 49 because didn't like angmar. (thought it could be total fun at high lvl and i have been completely disappointed.)

But lotro for low + mid lvl is really cool and fun !

Shire, old forest, barrow downs, very cool ! nice !Bree, fornost, ered luin, angmar= boring

When I created my last char few days ago (not weeks or months) saw (cf list given by SOE when you create a char)

- all serv Low except for halgar medium (most of time halgar is also LOW)

maybe it has changed since 5/6 days ?
