Povey151	Few questions to the senior AOC followers. General Discussion « Age of Conan 11/23/06 2:33:59 PM I never said anything about grinding in my OP...in fact I prefer grinding. Id much rather just grind...than have to grind with a bunch of annoying rules in place (you have to kill this...then loot this...then go see this guy...then do this). Its all the same mindless playtime to me so I'd rather just be able to watch TV while i do it. And yes i think grinding is the best way of leveling...those who put in more time should be more rewarded...end of story.

The PVE is kinda wierd b/c the monster AI has downs syndrome in this game, yet it's by far the most fun to me. PVP is friggin' awesome in this, without a doubt the most skill involved PVP in an mmorpg ever. Crafting is weak in the sense that you cant actually create items, but tinkering is the coolest of all crafting systems I have ever seen in an mmo. The storyline/updates in this game are one of its bread and butters. I dont think i've seen another MMO with the massive amount of content and storyline updates that Asheron's call has seen. This game is just ABSOLUTELY phenomenal in that aspect. You really are getting what you pay for with your monthly fee in AC.

There is going to be classes. There is going to be levels. There is going to be kill that sucker 100000 times to get next level xp grind. And no... you can't create your "custom class" that is great sword user, have x-ray magic eyes and can heal all your party members instantly. It would be against MMORPG developer's holy bibble. Free character customization, without levels and classes just doesn't fit to MMORPG developers head. Get it? You are going to be cookier cutter. Either damage dealer, tanker or healer. are you made at me or something??? And if all of these things are the case...well then this game really isnt any type of step forward in advancement at all. It might still be a good game...but that drops the excitement level down a ton for me. I didnt say i want to be a super ultra badass character. I just dont want to necessarily know that being 31/20/0 with x armor of bad-assness with mighty axe of pain is going to be THE best...or anything like that.

Adah.... wow...your right....wait...i was wrong...thats 100ths of a second...you have a media player that can not only pause but reads and breaks down videos into 100'ths of a second...what phenomenal player is this? And if you havent figured it out yet im kind of poking fun at the .13 .22 .31 of a second thing you used. BTW these guys must be ballin to attack like 3-4 times in 3/10ths of a second.

Is there going to be randomly generated loot in this game. I really hate when every single person runs around looking the exact same. (IE- AC loot vs WOW loot) Is this a crafter based economy, plz god no. Look at SWG, not only did everyone look the exact same, you got to run around between a million player run vendors in the middle of nowhere to find that the item you need wasnt in any of those shops. I have no problem with crafted items being good, but definately not the best... that just lames out the economy and makes for a very cookie cutter world. Zones...plz tell me no. I started with muds, then went to ac...then back to uo...then on etc etc etc. I really have to say that playing a game with no zones (AC) has ruined most other games to date. I really liked being able to pick a direction and run. There were actually things to explore, special loot and monsters to be had that could only be found by roaming. And they used all of the landscapes with the portal/dungeon system. Character development...how good is it? Are there skill trees or skill sets, or what? Again, this goes back to being cookie cutter, if there arent skill trees is it viable to make a character that isnt the set normal (ie a warrior will always be the best using 2h axe with x skill and x stat, cuz thats really cookie cutter too). I know we are a long time from release, just wondering if anyone had some info on this stuff.

I have been playing PSO for quite a few years. I have helped, along with thousands of other people, Sonic team to become what it is today. Also, for your research comment, it was NEVER mentioned by Sonic Team that they would block european cards. "the BUY NOW!" only had "US ONLY" tag added shortly ago. people couldn't have researched it. Do they owe it to us? No. but does that make it fair? Heck no. We pay the exact same amount of money (in fact, We are paying MORE money) as US citizens. yet we don't get the same treatment. 1, this isnt psu...your point here doesnt matter at all.... 2, i knew it was coming out in the us before europe several months ago 3, the arguement was about being fair...it was about getting screwed...besides, you didnt HAVE to pay for the game if you really think you are getting screwed.

This will also inspire more players to take part in actual epic battles as opposed to just 3-4 guys running around randomly ganking just to grind out blood money. as long as its not like the economy in swg...running around for hours through thousands of player houses with noone in them trying to find a vendor with 1 damn item on it...ugh...

The company can do WHATEVER they want with their product and they owe you NOTHING in return, and i'm sure you've agreed to contracts of those natures while signing up for the game.

PVP requires a hell of a lot more skill than you realize and its a paper rock scissors game too. You arent always going to be equipped to take out EVERY ship, and you ARE going to lose ships...QQ. This game is really great I never had problems with excessive travel times or not being able to hang with higher levels or w/e....but maybe thats cuz i dont suck at games.

And in end i would like to say...QQ this is the video game market, there are always delays/shifts/cancellations/downtimes etc....so yeah it sucks that you dont get to play for a month... but is it really that big of a deal, no.

General Discussion « Phantasy Star Universe 10/30/06 5:20:35 PM this requires no cd key You cant trade in MMOS that require a key because they link to an account rendering that version useless. PSU doesnt appear to link to your play account in any way, thats why im curious about the ability to trade this in. and while i appreciate your reply it seems uninformed and very generalized. Im looking for someone that actually knows.
