I'm not trying to troll... Perhaps it's the quality of the videos I watched, but you can't deny the striking resemblance WAR takes to WoW. Warhammers art style coming before WoW means nothing because WoW has been on the shelves for three years now. I enjoyed WoW but like many others have become bored of it. Then seeing all the hype behind WAR and seeing what looks like a clone of WoW begs the question; what exactley is original about WAR? The important question and also valid conern is that if you're tired of WoW, what does WAR offer that will reignite the MMO flame when WAR looks strikingly like WoW's long lost twin brother? |

After watching all the WAR videos it's become crystal clear that WAR is using EXACTLEY the same engine as WoW... Exactley the same cartoony style, character models...even the yellow explanation marks! I'm by no means trying to flame, but can anyone explain what exactley is original about this game considering all the hype? |

The problem is games trying to be like WoW because of its success. Other games try to take the things that work and incorperate them but fail misrably because they don't realise everything that makes WoW work does so because it's blended so well together. The ideas alone are great, but unless you can fit the pieces together it's going to turn out a mess.
WoW's game mechanics are superb, the only thing that lets it down is the community. There use to be an etiquette between online gamers, but WoW's appeal through solid game play, has opened the floodgates to idiotic trolls from all 4 corners of the globe. It's no longer a case of playing together with common interests, the majority of these idiots just want a gank fest. The small minority that used to make up the MMO scene have been swept aside for the masses of simple minded folk that make up 90% of WoW's community...
And that's why I'll take a solid community over gameplay any day of the week. Which is exactly why i'm looking forward to Tabula Rasa, because from what I hear, you'll need to be on the same page as others to enjoy that game. |

I will NOT be playing Star Trek Online...here is why

Thanks for straightening that out for me. Considering at least 90% of Star Trek took place within a ship of some sort I really don't see how they'd get away with not including fully interactive ship interiors. Saying that, it would be suicide releasing a Star Trek Online game without fully interactive ship interiors... Lets hope they see the light. |

WoW isn't very casual friendly at all, but then I havn't found an MMO that was! I don't think the MMO is entirely at fault though, its more the mentality of the player not willing to except people who are unable to put in the time. |

A good portion of beta players didn't play at release because of the final 'release' patch. I thought I would give it a go and the only thing the game had going for it was the live events. Then SOE took over and COMPLETELY killed it, they stopped the live events and screwed up the game play. CR2 just made it pretty much what it was before they took over, except for the live events of course. All that being said, I currently started playing again as my friend is hooked on the Matrix universe and wanted someone to play with. And guess what I found... It's still the same repetitive mess its always been... There's only so much you can emerse yourself in the Matrix universe within MxO without the live events. So thank you again SOE for screwing up yet another MMO... |
