I'm not trying to discuss whether or not mounts are good or bad for MMO's. I just want to know what everyone's favorite looking mount is.
I have seen so many mounts, it is hard to believe that there are still new ones coming out in mmo's these days - there must be thousands.
But... I got the idea for this post from a recent interaction with a particular mount recently and I decided to ask everyone what their favorite mount is.
Everquest 2 just released not too long ago, a Sabertoothed Flying Squirrel Mount that stands on its hind legs, at about 6-10 feet tall depending on your character. I'm sorry, but it has got to be the best looking mount I have ever seen to date. Just my opinion though!
What is your favorite and from what game? :D |

Took me many a week to beat this game - in fact, it took me several times too. I kept not knowing what to do next and ran out of time. The Kor-Ah (?) would destroy everyone, game over.
Easily one of the best, if not THE best single player space exploration/combat games ever. |

I like EQ2. It has everything a standard AAA mmo should have and then some... but... .... I recently got into the SWTOR Beta... and I just can't bring myself to play any other mmo, ever again. I am not some fanboi, as i'm not really a Starwars fan, but Bioware did an amazing job. It may not be for everyone, but it sure beats any of the competition. EQ2 is a good game and I wish it well. |

I was all hyped for this until I saw that they won't have an Archmage.
No Archmage?
No thanks. |

Agreed. The PQ's were lots of fun, I just wish they scaled with the amount of people in the area, rather than being a set difficulty. With the low pop, its hard to find people willing to do the more extreme PQs and nearly impossible with only 2 or 3 people. It gets boring grinding the same PQ over and over for influence.
On a side note : LOVED playing my Archmage. Easily one of my most favorite classes in any mmo i've ever played. I also 5 boxed with the trial accounts (albeit poorly played by my lack of knowledge with the boxing tools and macros in the game) BUT... it was hella fun! |

You do realize that most of what you claim to be a quality of WoW, came out BEFORE WoW existed, right? |

What would make SWTOR truly epic for you?

What would make SWTOR truly epic for you?
If the future playerbase of SWTOR is more mature, intelligent, and overall "nicer", than most of the MMO communities. |

There you go.
Edit: I've been looking around and honestly, I don't see any information about the quests. It is possible they gave Rangers both melee and ranged specializations. It's been forever, so I don't really remember. The idea is that you will use the "Style of Precision" (a combat stance) when using ranged attacks, etc. I don't really know what what else to tell you. You don't get to be a real "ranged" attacker until the high teens or low 20s, because you will lack the required abilities to really benefit from it; like movement buff, chain attacks that snare mobs, etc. |

To be honest, I forget where it starts. I think it depends on what race you are. My ranger is a Halfing and I remember doing a lot of stuff in/near the Wood Elf area for those quests. It's been a few years though.
Can I suggest google ? |

Originally posted by Benthon Interesting. Ranged Shot used to not open chain attacks, although this was practically since launch and I have used Warden Shot ever since. It may have changed since then, so you may be correct. |

The only true bow user is the Ranger, and that is only if you do the quest to become an Archer based Ranger (You can go melee if you want, but I don't suggest it.) I think the quest starts around level 10 or 15, around the same time when you do the Pet quest.
Bard can also do the whole Bow thing as well, but the damage they do is minimal compared to the Ranger.
If you are a Ranger and you are Archer based, use "Warden Shot", not just the normal Ranged Shot. If you use Warden Shot, the criticals will open up your chain attacks. I have a 50 Ranger and I dominate things. Once you get your Movement speed buff and your multishot, you can kite groups of mobs at a time. I was killing 8 3dot-4dot mobs at a time every chance I got. In fact, if you do it right, you can solo kill almost anything in the game if you have enough room to run and assuming they don't heal.
Edit: I just thought that maybe you were too low yet to really see them as a Bow class. Rangers in the starting levels and the low teens are not much for Ranged attacks. If you really focus at it, Rangers start to take off in the low 20s. They are one of my favorite classes. |

Wakfu: Hoodlums Update Exclusive Preview
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 8/06/11 2:25:24 PM
I am a fan of turn based combat. Some of my more favorite games are old school sega games, like Shining Force and Shining Force 2. Wakfu helps fill the void of turn based combat. The game itself still has quite a ways to go, but it is worth the investment if you enjoy the combat style. (Although there are still some class balancing issues to deal with) |

A majority of players prefer DPS classes. Urban Legend?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 8/03/11 4:53:44 AM
I depends which game, but generally I enjoy playing a healer.
For instance... Vanguard - Disciple Warhammer - Archmage Everquest - Shaman DAOC - Healer and Shaman
Then came along WoW and everytime I picked up a healer, it was nerfed to oblivion in some fashion that the "best" healer was yet another class in which I havn't played. WoW's fad of the moment classes and constant nerfs/buffs stopped my healer gaming. In fact, thanks to WoW, i've stopped mmo gaming altogether. I'm waiting out for SWTOR. |
