looks exactly like maplestory even down to the combat text

nope.jpg

horrible game (for PC), such a let down, was hoping to find something to tide me over until D3, NOPE!

<p>

if diablo3 cares to compete with Vindictus or mmm Continent of the Ninth ,well diablo dont stand a chance.
</p>
<p> </p>
<p>not sure if troll or just very very stupid</p>
<p>do you even play vindictus? because i do, and you know what? its dying, insanely fast, no one worth anything logs on anymore because theres no content left to conquer, now C9 im not so sure about, sure i got into the korean/jap/chinese whatever beta which more pain than pleasure to attempt to understand but the core concept of gameplay was pretty much exactly the same as demon soul, so its not going to go very far.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>and D3 on the other hand? well for an analogy, thats like saying "if world of warcraft cares to compete with Ultima online or DAOC, well world of warcraft doesnt stand a chance"</p>

Lunia (double dragon anime game, very fun insanely well built gameplay, end game is repetitive though, the highest skill cap in a PVP Game, E V E R, you want skill based pvp? hands down 100% top of the list by a HUGE gap Lunia.)

Dragonica (double dragon side scrolling anime game, grindy, slower than lunia, ALOT slower)

Dungeon Fighter

Magicka (or however you spell it)

Pockie Ninja (not bad if you like naruto / bleach, just get ready for repetitivness)

atlantica online

microvolts

S4 league

league of legends

kongregate games

private servers for ragnarok online, dekaron, cabal online, Mu online, Gunz, vanguard, etc etc etc, search "gamesite top 200" or something

trickster (very high level cap if you enjoy that, plays similiar to ragnarok)

Dungeons and dragons online

vindictus

runes of magic

4story

RF online

Requiem: Bloodymare (beware, absoloutly HUGE maps once you get out of the starting zone, basically forces you to spend money to get a mount, reason why i quit, otherwise good game)

soul of the ultimate nation

conquer online

theres obviously ALOT more but you've just gotta search for what you want, some parameters would of been good just not "gief game LOL!" FPS? RTS? MMO? high level cap? low level cap? grindy? quest based? stage? open world?, pretty much played everything to the point where if i find a game that looks good i can log in with default username + pw and theres a good chance ive already made an account for that company / game in the past and just forgotten about it

no drunken brawling, it was going to be a PVP activity in the taverns around the world where you would get drunk with people and start fights with other players and drunkenly attempt to kill eachother, it was promised pre release and on the box iirc yet.

Here is a quote from a gamespot review back in 2006 when the closed beta was going on.

Tortage is also a city filled with taverns, which will be perfect for the new drunken brawling player-versus-player combat system. Drunken brawling is one of the three types of PVP that will be in the game, and it's designed to be the most fun and social. This isn't about killing the other player but rather getting into a raucous bar fight. Basically, your character can get drunk on various beverages, and each one might confer a different fighting ability. Mead will transform you into a bruiser in battle, while wine might be good if you want to be more of a swashbuckler. Instead of weapons, you'll use everyday objects, such as bar stools. And thanks to a ladder ranking system, you can build up a reputation as a good drunken brawler. The two other PVP modes will be minigames, such as capture the flag, and the massive PVP mode, which lets you engage in siege combat to defend or attack a city.

oh and what content, it sounds liek the end game is the basic run of the mill spam run dungeons and rep grind your ass off until your eyes bleed, lets forget the part where the developers advertised this as a huge PVP game where it was the shit and then turns around and doesnt work on PVP.

Has this game FINALLY Implemented the drunken bar brawling it promised on release?

CC-less PvP

CC-less pvp?

really?

REALLY?

Why not just say " I WANT BAD PVP, I WANT TEH GAME DAT ONLY HAS NUMBERZ COS SKILL IS IRRELIVENT"

Heres an idea

take a look at all the korean MMO grinders such as silk roads or any sort of KMMORPG thats PVP soley revolves around standing still, mashing your damage buttons, and the gear you have on, and go play one of those failures, because you sure as fuck cannot play a game that actually requires a brain.

do you want a game thats grind from the start

or a game thats quick at first then when you get into the game and most of your abilities, the levels start to slow down

from the start, cabal online, dekaron, ragnarok, etc etc etc

quick at first, google Elite + one of those 3 aforementioned RPGS

why does it sound like your listing previous lovers

safe bet (wont fail)

(wont fail)

ha
hahaha

Hahahahaahahaha

Thanks for the suggestions but i prefer to stay p2p.. i don't like cash shops.

thats all pretty much off the top of my head, theres obviously alot more since most of the F2P Games are "korean grind fests"

if thats your thing, just be warned, most of these are Free to play, pay to win, so if you plan to do anything at high level involving killing other players, get ready to drop alot of cash to get all your gear upto scratch with some people who have dumped thousands into the game in a few short months

also, most of these will have some sort of quests as you cannot get away with a MMORPG thats just pure grind from level 1 (Tibia would be that exception, but tibia kicks ass so), but all of these are grinders at their core, you might have a couple of quests within every new area telling you about the various mobs and kill x collect X but it wont be enough to tide you over to the next area so a good chunk of grinding is involved in each one of these

Seems to have everythink you are looking for. One of the biggest features that sets it apart from other shooters is that you can whip out your sword and block bullets and start slashing them. You get a variety of guns and you can run and jump off walls. It gets really crazy when you go into a deathmatch with like 12 people and people are fighting in every direction.

you forgot to add "Also contains a metric shitton of hackers"

Crimecraft would be your best bet, very enjoyable been a S4 player myself the only reason why i would play S4 league over crimecraft is that with timezone differences when i tend to play theres very very very little people on, other than that insanely fun game, although in the higher levels you have the tendancy to say "i could of beaten him if i had the same cash shop as he does"

the thing is, theres a thing called durability in the game, and the free weapons ofc repair with gold and the durability goes down so you'll eventually lose the item, now theres cash shop weapons aswell, and they can be repaired with gold, so you'll eventually lose those too, UNLESS, you buy gold bars (cash shop currency) and use those to repair, so there is never a actual "Permanent" item in the game, sure you'll keep the item if you never actually use it, but if you plan on using it you better plan on dumping more cash into the game to keep it going

That is all.

thats gotta be the stupidest argument against the glaringly obvious observation ive ever heard
"no we arnt a wow clone, heres all the stuff you can do differently!"
"Uhh...theres really nothing different here that you wouldn't find in WoW or WAR"
"BUT BUT, THE PQ'S MOVE AROUND!"
"So.....?"
Go look at Tera
THATS not a War / WOW Clone
the hype will die, so will the franchise, word of mouth spreads better than some shitty blog.
lets  forget the impossible to balance PVP, flipping through the trees you can point out "op", "op" "lol thats insanely OP"
lets forget the high ass requirements that will kick most of the average playerbase right out the window.

U MAD BRO?

*shrugs* I like RIFT. You obviously are a rabid fan of Tera. Go play Tera and leave the people who like RIFT alone. And if your comp can't run RIFT (which even has a low quality render mode to allow old comps to run it) how in the world do you think you can run TERA?

Are you saying you wouldn't be a fan of something that is attempting (and succeeding) to break away from the mold? do you only like people who are fans of clones?

U MAD BRO?

Oh.
Btw, i cant play Tera atm, its coming out in march, the low quality render mode looks like vomit, literately, my comp can actually run rift FYI but this isnt about me, its about the playerbase, something which rift wont have after 6 months.

Angry much ... here have some pie.

Hmm, interesting counter argument, let me take a second to formulate a reply that might be able to stand upto that......

No you.
Well, in WOW I played a resto druid (untill cata ruined the class).
and by that you mean NOT pathetically easy right? because druid was still FINE in cata you just had to have a clue on how to actually heal now that you actually need a rotation rather than just bashing buttons

Atlantica Online sounds like it would be good for you. Turn based combat thats very well done, similar to the FF series, and a well polished and popular F2P title, healthy population and a good future ahead of it.

you forgot to mention the utter dependance on the cash shop at high levels and the very fact that 99% of the stuff thats brought from the cash shop is a gamble.

you'd get more return throwin your money into a slot machine.

Completey non biased review

nothing majorly new, the only thing that could be remotely considered new is non-static PQ's & 3 specs at once...well its not really 3 specs its "heres 3 specs and a bunch of talent points, now be careful where you put these talent points because you're not gonna be able to get everything you want from these 3 trees"

imagine if you had to put talent points into all 3 trees in wow to be viable, Yea. when you look at it from a min / max perspective it doesnt bring that much more ... customization to the mix

You haven't even touched the game and you post a "completely non biased review"?

What 3 specs? There are 9 talent trees that you can match in any manner you want.

Why to be careful? You can respec an unlimited amount of times and experiment to your heart's desire.

The system is versatile but a nightmare to balance for PvP I suppose.

Please refrain from posting second hand "reviews" as gospel. When you haven't touched the game it shows.

Played until 13 and i got bored (lol insane leveling rate in the huge rifts). theres 9 per archetype and 4 archetypes in total (how did you not know that?...oh right), you can only be 3 specs at once, you dont have enough talent points to get everything in the 3 trees, the "be careful" was to emphasize the limited amount of talent points you actually have, just because you can experiment doesnt mean theres unlimited customization, theres going to be cookie cutter specs, and thats whats gonna be good and thats whats gonna be wanted, the PVP system is gonna be completely on its head in terms of balance and laughable when the devs attempt to balance it, the shit that ive read from the talent trees that i specced into (inq / the druid and necromancer (Hots Dots and a Pet that does more damage based on the dots you have up, Could you want more?)) there was blantetly overpowered CC abilities (8 second silence, 10 second fear, spammable 70% 30 yrd slow,  60% shield wall, 80% dispersion and thats just on ONE tree) that if melee (one charge on the warriors) dont get massive amounts of mobility (and HP, lol 5 dots at 10) its gonna be another "casters destroy everything" game

It aint gonna be popular, it'll have its hardcore fanbase as every game does (see AOC / War, game is sinking yet people still play) but it aint gonna thrive like any of the big names, expect F2P with cash shop within the next year or so.
