Too bad so many people need to be held by the hand and led around a premade linear path (with pretty much a yes or no option to everything - which is still linear)...

Why is it that STORY is to be told what to do, think and feel?

What happened to making your own story?

Before anyone considers purchasing this game before release, be aware, Star Vault refuses to acknowledge any cancellation you might want to do should you change your mind and not want to buy it.

This is what is happening to me. I'm letting my credit card company settle the dispute.

Don't care about MO. But seriously if you buy it you buy it. If you don't want it, don't buy it. If you need more info before, don't preorder.

How hard can it be?

There are more than 200.000,000 people playing this game , it may not be 250k pre nge numbers but close to peak times! 250k might sound more than 200k but most of the accounts were multi accounts 2-3 acc per player so imo it was less than 100k active players in the game so at the moment there are 2x more players in the game than pre nge!

You are right it was so hard and idiotic pre nge was the most boring game i ve ever played. Current SWG is much more fun and easier than pre nge, you can directly choose an epic character as you see in movies not stupid kungfu characters like teras kasi artist or pikeman. THis is Star wars not some samurai game lmao . You dont need to beg for other players to help you to advance in game, just get your quests done and your ready for action no more greedy traders to sell you stupid stuff, no more stupid travel times, no more idiot vendor search for some stupid weapons!, just do your quests and get your gear ready!

Holy crap...are you kidding? Please...give me just a tiny idea of where you pulled that number from (and please, don't bend over and point to the obvious).

Lets look at something you tend to ignore...FACTS!!!

There are only 9,000 GCW Officers with the last update. Considering people can have 2-3 characters per account and the minimum to beat decay has been lowered and GCW made easier to get than ever, I think that number itself is skewed. While I played, I'd say 95% or more of the people I knew would PvP or rank up via PvE (Space)...4% were usually base clubbers who were ALSO Officers and in a guild of 500 (30-40 active players), only ONE guy didn't have any Officer toons.

I feel 100% confidence in suggesting that a bare minimum of 50% of the PLAYERS (not toons) are have an active "Officer" character these days...face it, it's the end game content. That means that at best there are 18,000 subs...but I honestly think that number is too high.

So...you say 200K and offer NO evidence to support your claim. I will argue you are completely wrong...in fact, you appear to be on the wrong forum...WoW is ----> that way...and I present facts to back up my assertion.

I doubt there are more than 20.000

Honestly

I have been watching Warhammer for the past few weeks go down dramaticly in both played minutes and number of Xfire users playing. Today is the lowest the game has been for a long long time. I personally find that a bit strange since the 1 year event is in full swing but ppl just dont seem to be intrested at all.

Looks like Aion is hitting the RVR concept really hard - and AOC seem to be going the same way.

What can Mythic do to change things around ? Is it possible or are ppl simply not into this hybrid of nothingness - in terms of RVR - PVP - PVE ?

Personally - I just feel ashamed that a great concept like Warhammer was - has been ruined by Mythic. I will never ever look at Warhammer in the same light again. I just ... can't.

I may be blinded by personal preference, but I just can't see how someone would stay in Aion over AoC. I expect them to be back.

With WAR it is a different story. AION is catering more to the WAR crowd I think. Those who leave WAR will not miss much in AION.

I'm starting to believe that Aion - Tower of Eternity is starting to become a cancer that is slowly spreading like World of Warcraft. Do you agree? I mean yeah sure, we all had high hopes for this game and we expected a lot to come from it. As the previous topic that is currently being debated said. "Aion isn't that great" and I for one say it's kind of true. Sure Aion had released a few features that made the game fun, and yes I for one am all about the other aspects of the game they included instead of the constant grinding most MMO's put you through.

But seriously, everywhere I look. I always see some topic flair up about Aion as like World of Warcraft did back in it's time. If you ask me, this game is starting to become a fail like World of Warcraft did. Everyone liked World of Warcraft too much till the internet finally sank its hands in and then it went all down hill from there. I'm starting to see some topics talk negatively about Aion as well. It won't be long now till people start saying "Aion Clone!" or something related to the terms we use for World of Warcraft in this day and age.

-Lusts;

Of course this forum is aflame with new posts about AION. This is a mmorpg forum and Aion is the next WoW on paper..

However I don't see AION catching on in the general public the way WoW is. WoW is played by four of my nephews. They wouldn't switch for anything in the world. For most parents WoW is = online roleplaying game. Aion is up against not a better game, but a phenomenon. And Aion will lose that struggle.

If Aion was much more different or offered a totally new experience it would stand a chance against WoW.

My personal belief is that Aion will be a new Lotro....

After mmos I can't get myself to play RPG any more.... would miss the interaction with other players..

That's why forums suck. Though we communicate in a text-based medium, there is no reason to troll around looking for grammatical mistakes when you've nothing to contribute to the discussion.

Anyway, have a nice day.

Oh - and this video is GREAT.

I would much rather play this than Aion.

No fancy pancy pink flowers and cutesy animals for me...

Too bad I`m just another poor student with much too little time on my hands to have a part-time job. No tower here..

:(

I think I still have one 1 week buddy / trial key left. You have to pay 2,99$ to download from fileplanet or find a torrent or something...

PM me if you want it with your email address

People play in those servers only.

Game is more than alive it is a success!!!!!!!

Great news. Thanks for sharing.

By the way have you heard about the Easter bunny rabbit?

Yes definitely, but it would need to have focus on the actual character than the mech, if they need rules they can use Mechwarrior ruleset :)

Perfect pvp setup to be honest.

And great ideas all around!

Sigh..

The operating systems game is one Beta I would never attend !

Everyone is so busy with Aion they are missing out on a great piece of news !!

If this thread and the many others like it are representative of what people think about this game, then it is in real trouble.

I only tried this for an hour, so I have no hard knowledge, but I saw this coming from the very beginning....

New article on Massively

A quote: "Especially since you've got such a strong singleplayer element in the story and choice features, how important is grouping to Star Wars: The Old Republic?

Blaine: I think it's a very important message we want to get out right now, because there's a lot of questions out there. People are saying, "Okay, we see it, we get it. It looks like a BioWare game and that looks like a singleplayer experience." We really want to make sure that it's clear that it's not [a singleplayer game]. Obviously what we've shown so far are the new things we're trying to bring to the MMO space, but grouping is going to be very important.

The closest demonstration we've had so far is where we show the flashpoint where we've got the the Sith Warrior grouped up with the Bounty Hunter. That's a grouping experience, and that includes your story experience, which is something we want to be sure people are clear on. When you're grouped, it doesn't impede the story whatsoever, so you can still progress the story as a group. It's not a singleplayer experience in any way, shape or form.

That said, if you want to do solo play that's something that you can do as well. It's a goal of ours to make sure that we cater to all those play styles. It someone is like, "I don't wanna group, I wanna play a BioWare game. I wanna go through the story and do things on my own." you can do that. You're gonna see other people running around the world, as you would in any other MMO. On the other hand, if you want to group you're gonna be able to go through the game that way as well."

I think Bioware and I have different ideas about what makes a mmorpg MASSIVE !?!!?!

Weee Beta soon!

I am so not the Grand Theft Auto demographic, but God do this game sound refreshing from all the recent games released..

I think I have to preorder this baby!

I could have swore that point and click and mouse steering were included in the closed beta... Am I mistaken? Was I thinking of another game I've recently been trying out?

I think I read there was an option to turn it on and off, no?

somethign I like about auto facing, is with no collision detection and spells with cast times, someone can't simply run through you to interrupt your cast.

and since its a PvP game, I think thats nice.

With the really massive battles I saw on youtube in the Abyss I can only imagine what collision would do to this game..
