You are right, you are an idiot if you dislike the game that much and then pre-ordered it.  Seriously, it has been known for years now that is not SWG and you are just now figuring that out?  It is the spiritual successor to KotoR and that has been it's aim since the start of development.

Actually EA does sell an empty box.  Sims 3 Barnacle Bay is a box on the shelf but all it contains is a code to download the content so they are for all practical purposes selling you an empty box.

I'm all for loot containers.  I'd much rather have my fate in the hands of RNG than some power tripping, egotistical, toady equipping his favorites.

More hyped for SWTOR myself.  Bought GW and hated it but it sounds like GW2 will definately be better than GW so I will buy it as well.

EverQuest and Vanguard were 'sandboxy' for a themepark but still a themepark none the less.  

There really has only been one AAA sandbox I can think of since UO and that was the original SWG.  Now SWG didn't set the mmo world on fire and was actually sort of struggling for a foot hold in the market.  Mostly due to SOE's releasing the game in a horrible state and of course WOW's success.  If Sony had held off the release and fixed the glaring bugs SWG would have had a much better chance at establishing itself but the same mentality that lead to the too early release led to the CU and then the NGE which killed most of the sandbox and the game itself along with it.  Also Sci-Fi has harder time attracting people than Fantasy does for some reason.

So, anyway, we really still do not know if an AAA released sandbox will find a following or not.

Gotta hand it to Blizzard, D3 will set sales records and the auction house model might even out do WoW.  All they need now is a battlenet user fee and it's a complete win. *ca-ching*

Because fun games are fun.  Now everyone has a different idea of what is fun.  I find MMORPG.com to be fun to visit because I enjoy all the venom in people's posts when Blizzard kicks their puppy or when Bioware steals their candy.  What can I say?  I enjoy it.

I must be blessed.  I've never had a problem with Turbine's support and I never had a problem with SoE's support when I played their games.  Only company that gave me any runaround was NCSoft.

So you want a game that is like EQ but is nothing like EQ?  Yeah, um, good luck with that.

I dunno, wouldn't get my money.  I'm not looking for a space flight sim.

EQ1 for about 4 years, COH for about 4 years, Lotro for about 3 years now and Wizard 101 for 2 years (what can I say I think it's fun).  That's about it for long term games.  I've tried most of the other MMO's out for usually for 3 months or less.  I usually have 2 subs running at once.  Oh, there was about 1.5 years of EQ2 in there somewhere.

LOTRO is my only sub at the moment.  It will be my other sub when SWTOR is released.

If you don't feel like a fool, you sound like one.  I bought the digital version the moment they accepted my order.  I've been interested in the game since it was announced and from what has been released it sounds like a game I will enjoy.  Now I don't have to worry about the stores in this backwater place not ordering it.
