Awfull examples omg, if you want to compare the graphic quality of both games then grab good examples, that shit looks like it was taken on a 10yr old gfx card lol

Tbh I played both LOTRO and Aion and saying Aion has worst graphics is defently not true. The quality of the envoirenment on LOTRO does have a few better points then Aion, but is nowhere near as graphicly better.

Wrote a Pre Live review but totally forgot to put it here ;)

Anyway you can read on my blog: BP pre live review

The game is a day from live, pre orders will start today (20th) at 11am EST (4pm GMT+0). Its still possible to pre order :P

wow I find it interesting that a space scifi mmorts is moved from the open beta to offtopic because its not a mmorpg but theres always a bunch of mmorts's being majorly advertised on the main page of the site. Good job!

Hey guys, not sure if it was mentioned before on the open beta forum, but here it goes anyway

[Edit: Pre Live review on my blog]

Space sci fi MMORTS.

Its a 1 server sandbox mmorts, it has great features and the graphics arent to bad at all, go to theire site and try it out, EVE and E&B fans will most surely like the game, its a very hard game which allows alot of player costumization of anything found ingame, it has some intensive designing and researching features which make combat intense, unpredictable and full of strategy.

Quick explanation of basic mechanics:

If playing for the first time, do the tutorial, its very needed, might take a while to complete it but if you dont, you'll end up hitting the exit button 5min after.

The galaxy has alot of systems, and theres always new systems being added for new players, so its unlikely that you will end up on a system with other Empires alot more powerfull then you.

When you spawn for the first time, you start by building your colony and once you have the money you can create a starport to expand your empire to other planets.

The moment you build a starport you can start building ships, for that you have to use a research center to design the ship at your like, research the design and build the ship ;) Its alot more complex then this as each ship component needs to be designed, takes a while to understand the designer but once you get the hang of it you can do lots and lots of different kinds of ships.

Anyway not going to write more, go try it and see for yourself

Live starts in 6 days for pre-orders, so if you wanna try the game for free, do it asap.

DFO seems to be a rlly nice game, I signed for the beta aswell but I would not stop playing EVE to play it.

I'll give DFO a try and if I like it I'll play it along with EVE, however Ive got used to the high detailed graphics of EVE tbh, Its hard for me to play other mmorps without the graphic level of the eve premium. I like fantasy games but theire all pretty much the same nowdays, I usually played EVE along with another mmo, usually a fantasy one, but got bored of all of em. DFO will ceirtainly be the "diferent one" kinda like EVE, the sandbox gameplay is awsome, after watching the gameplay movie got a bit disapointed with the graphics but I think I'll end up playing it just because its so player driven.

Just curious..

Most empire based corps will invite you without any SP requirements aslong as your not on the trial period. However to join corps wich have a specific role then you will require the SP needed for that role.

If your a new player EVE university is ceirtainly the best to join, you will learn alot there.

When I first joined EVE I did the 14day trial and learned the basics then, however I think EVE is a game in which you nvr stop learning no matter how long you have played, theres so many diferent roles you can take and so many diferent play styles, ships, fittings, etc..

Ive been playing for almost 2 years now and Im still learning new stuff everyday.

Tbh I think the major feature in EVE is pvp, pve is just there to supply the pvp, along with roids ofc.. Half of the characters in empire are alts of players that live in 0.0, wether to move stuff without worrying with wars or just to play with the market or even to do missions for faction stuff...

The adrenaline you get when your pvping and the feeling of success when you win its unexplainable, I've been in 0.0 since almost the day I joined EVE and I barely ever did missions or flied much in empire and I dont regret any loss I ever had. Losing your ship is part of the game, and even if you lose a new ship fully fited after 5 minutes of flying its still worth continuing and learn from the mistakes.

I advise every new player to join a corporation when they enter EVE, the best way to play this game is with a group of players in which you can rely on eachother if the need for a fight sudently apears.

I do agree with alot of the things mentioned by Dr. Eyjó but theres to many actions and reactions not being studied, EVE is more complex then just reading a few statistics.. But I hope he continues with his work and maybe some day we'll have a almost completly accurate QER.

I'll leave a few wors myself ;)

You wont find many games with the level of strategy needed on PvP like EVE does.

From small gangs to large fleets, theres always alot of strategy envolved, not to speak of when an alliance wants to invade another alliance's territory, it can take days or even weeks to dedice the best strategy.. But you wont have to worry about that for a few years :p

Just keep in mind that killing NPC ships (rats) is nothing compared to actual PvP, when its players your figthing theres alot of strategy envolved.

uh? 35 years? lol are u crazy? if u get an average of 2000 sp/hour in 35yrs time thats 613million skillpoints.. the max clone is at 92mil skill points and that is from what I know the maximum skillpoints you can have, which means every skill at level5, it takes around 5years, with learning skills and implants, to get every skill at lvl5. Its still a long time since most of the eve population has less then 3 years.

Also if you want to manufacture to actually make some profit make sure you skill up manufacuring skills, including mass production and production efeciency to lvl5, that will increase the number of jobs you can have at the same time and reduce the number of minerals you need.

You can also research your BP to even decrease more the number of materials needed and the time it takes to manufacture. But you also need to skill up for that too, cant recall the skills atm but i know you need a couple which are important.

A good way to make profit in less time is to buy the minerals at low prices and then sell the manufactured stuff, but make sure to calculate if its gona give u profit or not before you even buy the minerals. Of course you can always mine them if its small stuff like ammo, but for big ships manufacturing its very time consuming mining all the minerals and you need access to 0.0 (no sec) ore.

MM now has y-2ano station and holds sov. All BoB POSs are down. I'm wondering what will be BoB's next step.

Since the sov change there were no big actions from either BoB or the NC. Tbh right now it seems both fronts are geting ready for the big day. Cant wait to see how it will go..

It seems the south has been quiet also, I really wonder how it will all end, but I doubt BoB will be able to defend both fronts if both north and south decide to invade further more.

As long as developers keep updating the game it will never end. This game is older then most mmorpgs out there and it has been growing every single day, never stoped even after so many years. And all that due to the dedication that CCP has given to this game.

The game explores very well the human psychology in wanting more and more and more..

EVE is a universe where humanity figths eachother for theire own space and for more glory and power, there will be always a war to fight, a home to defend, a front to battle.

EVE has not yet became outdated and I doubt it ever will, so as long as theres new pilots joining EVE the game will keep going.

This game is sandbox for a reason, exactly to keep it as a 2nd dimension of the real world. Do you ask yourself if humans will some day vanish from this universe? Maybe, but we will do our best to improve ourselfs, just as the CCP dev team will do theire best to keep us interested on the game. So, we assume there will never be a end, we will always find a way to survive and the same applies to EVE.

I'm not saying the game will live for 100 years, but It wont end anytime soon either.

Hope that answered your question ;)

Im gona go emo for a sentence now..

Oh please!.. dont come with crap about skills again geez... you can easly pvp with the big guys if you specialize yourself to a certain ship or class of ships, in just a few months you will be just as good as them..

..goes back to normal.

Theres many skills on EVE because theres many roles you can take on the game, it doesnt mean you need all the 92mil sp to become as good as the old guys.. Just means you will be just as good as them in a certain role, and increase the number of roles you can have on 1 character in time..

Joining a good corporation that fits your interests is the most important part for a "newbie" to do. From there you will be able to fit in the "community" pretty easly, even if your flying around with 4-5mil sp, its all about making the right choices depending on what you wanna be to start..

This new server discussions are geting old.. To play this game you need to have a brain and learn your way through it, cant expect it to be like WoW where you learn the whole game in a couple of weeks... EVE is a vry different MMO, most people call it the hardest MMO out there but to be honest I think all you need is alot more dedication and more then 50 of IQ lol

Non PvP server?

I think the answer is pretty simple tbh, there can be no eve without pvp, it would destroy the storyline of the game and the whole concept..

Either way the game is already prepared for people that dont like to PvP, just stick to non PvP roles and join a corporation that will fit you. Joining a corp imo is the most important part of the game, doesnt matter if ur a pirate, miner, just casual pvper, manufacturer, trader or w/e, theres always a corp to join so you can play as a group. And being a figthing pilot just to kill rats is also a role ofc, theres plenty of corporations that need pilots to defend them from rats while doing ops, etc..

Being killed by gatecamps is just part of the game and if you really want to play it real you have to adapt yourself to the game and not wait for the game to adapt to your needs..

WoW is so succefull cause theres to many kids playing MMOs lol, the easy grinding and childish graphics were the main atraction.. If you think im being sarcastic or something.. Go wonder why WoW has the most immature community of mmos ;)

Aion has the potencial of being nr1, but atm there isnt much advertising or official information coming out, so its to soon to make any conclusions.

But the game is korean, and most WoW players play it exactly to avoid a korean style mmorpg, Aion is the 1st mmorpg developed by the korean leading company of mmorpgs that uses the WoW play style, so there will be alot of suspicious regarding this game, and i doubt it will ever start receiving better criticism until people actual get to try it.

Its really easy to think that warhammer and AoC will be succefull games because everyone already knows how both games style will be, on Aion theres still many unaswered questions and since its the 1st big korean mmorpg with a non-grind play style, people wont believe it until they play it.

EVE and Lineage2.

Looking forward to try Aion Online and Stargate Worlds.
