FOllowing Ncsoft's tradition, i bet there will be, although i dont think of them as expansions, more then Big Patches. I also will almost gurantee that one or tow of em will have new classes lol, always do with anything relating to NCsoft lol.

Would love to see a "good" si-fi mmo. Eve is good to an extent, and so is Star Wars Galaxies, and Tabula Rasa is actually pretty good now. I actually haven't heard of to many Si-Fi mmo's that are in development, or at least, havn't heard muchy about them.

like I said, don;t trust Amazon or any other site like that, NCsoft have said that themselves. The dates were questimated to try and generate revenues through ore-orders, The release date is estimated by Dev's to be late this year early next year.

well to start off, if the grind was horrible to you, then you better forget half the MMO's out there right now. All MMO's have at least a little grind to them. The WoW grind on the other hand was easy as hell, and one could casually get yo 70 in 2 months or less.

Second, yes, all MMO's have at least a little raiding in them, But WoW and several other games hold a strong need to raid. And also, look for a game without the Battleground system of PvP, and more open world PvP system.

The art style, in my opinion, and millions of others, it almost laughable. the have yet to update graphics after  years, and even at the starting point in the market, they were not great graphics. Although, that is personal preferense.

Well, I would suggest Aion as one option, but you said was to girly and brought its rating down a little but, and that is enough for me to kill you for not researching it at all (If you look past the first few pictures, it is nowhere near girly, and way more mature then WoW) Aion has a massive PvPvE system, as well as little grind, but still a long time to get to max lvl. Good community so far. Release date should be beggining of next year.

City of Heroes/Villians is another option for you, it has been out for a while. Great community, great customization, and a different play type then other games. A casual game, pretty fun, and might entertain you. Similar art style to WoW.

That is all I have for you, you are hoping for instant gratification from an MMO, which you will not get, and evn if you do, it will get boring after a very short period of time.

that date was most likely from a website such as Amazon or Gamespot, or any other company that sells games(I am not saying that it is, just most likely) and the Deveopers hava said not to trust these websites, as they want to rake in money from pre orders. Wait for an official release date and see, I would love it to be that date though :)

Ok, it is called trolling to go and post on another games forums and put it down, trying to create a meaningless debate over simple opinions.

I dont care if you dont like it, and I am sure that many other people feel the same way, sorry to be so blunt.

I will answer the above posters questions as best as I can with a list of a few details that make the game lifelike and such. Just because I like answering questions, not because I want to debate more.

-Graphics(of course) just adds a better sense of realism, and engagement to a game. Allows you to feel more a part of it.

-Real human acts and gestures. There are automatic gestures and such, which are not triggered by an emote, but which happen automaticly. These include swatting at flies, surveying the land, ect. Very cool feature, just a fun little detail.

-Fluid Motions, most games dont have this anymore, especially WoW, the motions are very choppy, and dont work well, With aion, everything is fluid, movement seems real, fighting seems real, everything works very well.

-Abyss ing general, especially fortress seiges and large scale PvP battles. It is very large, and will be the spot for alot of fun in the game.

-Both Instanced and Non Instanced dungeons, such as, a raid, you may have to compete for, and fight with another raid group for a boss ect.

-A very good community, yes we do have the occasional trollers and such on Aionsource, but in general, the community of Aion is very friendlt, and full of good natured people.

-PvPvE, putting a very good aspect, and an aspect of Epicness to the game, making it so that your choises, and battles affect the game. The baular will make their decisions depending on what happens in the game.

-Great crafting system. -It is simple, but challenging, it serves a purpose, as you will get most of your items from it. SUpposed to be very fun and entertaining.

-Player Housing will be in the game, maybe not at release, but in a patch soon after.

-Huge level of customization, you can make a weapon look like anything you want through craftiong and combibing items, you can pick and choose the skin of the weapons and armor for instance. There is also the stigmas, which will make almost every character different with their skills. And a great character customization which may rival CoX

-More fast paced and skill based PvP, more movement required, and more strategy. Engaging, and entertaining combat.

lol, even though I don't promote flaming, I think this guy deserves it, a debate about menaingless things, especially about meaningless things that have no research things, don't deserve to go un-hated.

Just my first thing, research, actaully look into the game, it is actually quite original, and has a whole lot more then you said.

this is another flame fest thread, between two sides of people, the ones who know about the game and are following it, and the ones who do not know as much about it, and are naturally gravitated against it due to the ethics of MMO's. I simply will add my flame to this.

This goes to me, and everyone else who will flame to other games, at least read the facts and information, before flaming, and then, do not put a game down on meaningless things that do not really matter, well, thats all I got :)

Ok, i think thos post is a Fanboy war lol, I am personally obsessed with Aion, and I simply want to say something, almost everyone here who are supporting war are saying things about castle sieges and how Aion doesnt have anything like it, lol, that is one of the main features in the abyss. There are also siege tyoe weapons in it, they are like giant mosters such as (what looks like) a flaming jellyfish phenoix thing. Sieges are in both games, not Just War.

I am going to play both games, as I can not correctly judge them on other characteristics, but yes, I am obsessed with AION, but it is useless flaming each others forums about em.

For some reason, the colorful emoticons make me automaticly agree with you, after seeing past them though, yes, u agree with you otherwise.

 only 10% of the game is instanced, and it is mostly cutscenes and story arcs. The rest is an all open world, and the Abyss will not be instanced, it will be an open PvP zone.

I know that companies are trying every idea possible, and that there have been tons of these posts, but i want to add one of my own, I have taken a bit from other mmo's and trued to make something completely different out of it. I know that this idea will be instantly shunned by almost  everyone here, but if it is accepted, then it is a completely different story and mmo. Code name is "New", name undecided.

Basic Story of "New"- The story if one was made my way would go like this. It will be an Angelic versus Demon story line, with Humans in the crossfire to. It will have a real Christian feel to it, but not enough to turn people away from it. Basicly, I will start with the creation of Angels. (I am creating a new version of the religion, in the game, it will be called the "Truth") The angels were created to Govern the heavens, and keep them in order while the supreme diety, creates his masterpiece. Once the world of Earth was created, the Angels were forever Forbidden to venture onto its lands. The Angels must keep the Heavens alive, for if they were neglected, the heavens would fall, and thus destroy the power holding the world of Earth together. The Angels continued their struggle for millions of years to keep the heveans alive, but one day, the Angel known as Lucifer was created. Lucifer was a balancing angent for the order of the Heavens. If the Order escelated to to much, then the fabric of the Heavens would be perfect, thus making the supreme Dieties masterpiece useless and make it loose its majesty. Lucifer grew tired of the struggle to keep the Heavens in balance. He grew so tired, that he left the Heavens, to explore the world underneath. Once he flew down, and set foot on the land of Earth, His wings vanished, and he was stuck. He roamed Earth.and marveled at its beauty, but he grew tired of it to. So he found a mountain, with a hole in the top. He entered the interior of the cave, and ventured downwards until he reached a bottom, He traveled for 7 days. Once he reached the bottom, he regained his wings. He was no longer on Earth, but another Heaven, a lower heaven. This heaven was empty, and hod nothing at all, except for rocks. Lucifer morphed his new world, to his perfect design. The Angels in the Heavens became jealous, Many of them became greedy, and wanted the power that would be bestowed on them in the new Heaven. Hundreds, if not thousands of Angels descended to the New Heaven. This new world was even more majestic than the origional. It rivaled Earth at this point, adn was almost to perfect. The supreme Deity knew what he had to do. He opened up  portal to the new Heaven from the Old Heaven. The two sides, no even, clashed in the new Heaven. The Angels won, and they left every fallen Angel alive. Although as punishment, they ravanged the New Heaven, and stole the fallen Angel's Wings. The ravanged world was called Hell, and the Falled Angels, now called Demons, were trapped within it. During the battle though, Many fallen Angels decided to flee. The flew up through the passage, until they reached the world Earth. The angels caught them before they could reach Heaven, and plunged them to the ground. They landed on Earth, and were trapped. Once they touched the ground, they lost their wings. The angels sealed off the mountain, to keep the demons from escaping, and returned to their home world. Unlike the ones that wre now called Humans, who were on Earth, and lost all of their power, the Demons retained their angelic power, and corrupted it with anger and hate. The Angels retained the balance between Earth and Heaven, while the Humans multiplied from the two Angelic Lords, Adam and Eve. They prospered, and soon created great cities. Even though they were attacked by the angels, they still held to their faith, and worshiped the Angels and the Great Deity. In thanks for this worship, the Human were granted an Angel every several decades to help lead their people. This angel was called a Saint. Meanwhile, the demons discovered a remaining remnant of their power. Driven by their hate and anger for the Angels, they now made this power into their own. they simplt named it "Hate". Hate was used to channel their rituals, and fel their power. A new world was created in Hell, one greater then every before. To test their power, they decided to rely pn the only angel who had his wings. It was the son of Lucifer, born after the great battle. He was the 666th addition to the new order. The Demon, named Peter, venture into the world, and gave a select few Human the power of Hate. Peter taught them how to use it, and soon these select few people took over the churches that worshiped the angels. and Peter was named a Saint, through lies and corruption. The corrupted power of Hate soon spreat throughout the word of Humans, making them arrogant, and foolish. A very small remnant of the power was put into every human. The Angels saw this, and tried to intevine, although their efforts were shunned, and thought of as fake, as the humans said that they already had their saint. The Angels, suprised by the humans arrogance, left Earth, supposadly never to return. Human Philosophers started decoding the fabric of their Earth, and warriors starting being developed. Guns and cannons were made to fuel the Humans new hate. Saint Peter never died, he is waiting for his chance. Once all presence of the Angels was gone, the churches of some of the freat angels gone, Saint Peter opened up portals, releasing a few demons into the world.  These demons spread their hate, and redied for a seige on Earth, and the revenge on the Angels and the supreme Deity. If Earth Fell, then the Heavens would fall as well, leaving Hell remaining as the only world. Angels had no choice but to help the Human defend Earth/ The Humans prepared as well, as they saw that something was happening. The angels revealed themselves to the Humans, and told them of the Conflict, although they were mostly shunned by Peter, a select group of Humans left Peter's cities, and created their own. Churches were rebuilt, and the new Humans, naming themselves Templars prepared them selves for a War of Epic Proportions.  There you have it, the time period would be cool if it was set to maybe Pre Elizibethian. The worlds of Heaven and Hell are on the tipping point of disaster, the Demons want their just tevenge, the Angels want their order to return, and save their world, While doing this not being able to step on the ground. And the Humans want their world to be preserved. Sorry, but i like stories, and I had to make a bug Backstory.

Basic things to know about my idea- there will be 3 factions, Angels, Demons and Humans(Templars) It would be good if it was primarily skill based, although still using classes. Such as class skills would individually gain experience the moe you use them. It  would like it to be set almost primarily on Earth. Flying would be cool, for the whole Angel Demon theme. The demons would have a darker skin tone, the Angels a Bright one, And the Humans a moderet, inperfect skin tone. Completely different classes for each race would also be cool, for a completely different PvP experience for each race. such as

Angel- Protector- Will be the tank type class, many protection abilities and spells. although i would ad another element. I want alot of Multi-enemy fighting, so you bust both direct where wou will block, and then where you will strike or cast

             Avenger-Seers and destroyers of Demons, created by the suprteme deity for the sole purpose of killing demons. The take their powe,r and convert it into their own. The would wirld two blades, and attack the same way as templars, (swords can be used to block as well) The have light armor, but attack fast and do not let their enemy live for long.

            Messenger-The scout/ spy type character, veyr fast, able to get in, strike, and get out. May rely on Bows and such. Very usefull, but stealth is a different story. Stealth's affect is granted through entering shadows and hiding places. Adding more depth to its game play.

            Divine One-A healer type roll.  Cast standard type heals, but instead of simply casting them, they must channel power of the Divine. The ancient souls of lost Angels. The Divine One channels their healing power though a special casting method (will get to that in  later post, have an idea though)This class would carry a spear., and would use it to both throw, and stab opponents to drain their power, and help power the Divine.

Demon-  Hatemonger- This class would be very magic based, although in a different way. They would be the summors. They would form their power into different shapes to help him cast, and can also execute atacks using a special shape form. (ie, a dark cloud of a shadow shooting a Bow beside the caster) They will have to channel the right length of power, and the right amount of power into a spell to make it good enough to cast.

Shifter- This class will use the shadow power to shape their own body, and create deadly fprms that he uses to destroy his enemies. He can reshape himself into animals and things of his own design(there could be a shape customization thing maybe) They will be like a druid, but will be more based on shifting their form constantly to attack.

Syndicate- These are the shadows. They create many shadows, and are very hard to notice. This class thrives in the darkness. They use their shadow form to help conceal themselves, but they also create weapons such as duel daggers with theit hte molding spells. plays similarly to the Avenger.

Human- will continue laterz, i am sleepy and tired, as it is 1-oclock am here, so il will finish up this post sometime another day. sorry for all the text, and sorry if this idea does not appeal to you. I am going to just throw in my different casting and attacking systems ideas later to.

most of the people from AoC and Warhammer are for some reason not very nice. It seems tht the true mmorpg'rs who actually look into all games come to aion. This is actually a really good community i think.

i think that devs said to not trust retailers in a german translated thing.

if they advertsie now, just think, 5 months of trolls being attracted to us instead of arhammer, which will probally be the next troll spot

the main rumor is october 30th, so, cant really tell when it is coming out, cause coorperations like amazon are filthy lyaing pigs.

EL Lion, keep playing, i iht 70 after a year because of friends forcing me to, and then got bored with raiding constantly and such. Plus pvp is a grind upon itself, no point for it. I want to end this treadmill that is common in almost all games, :(
