Well your main problem is mining, first 2 times I tryed eve I started mining ... wich turned me away quick.I suggest try to do something that is you like to do,like pvp for exemple,if pvp isnt for you I can only suggest to join a corp and do missions togheter. It's realy hard being a first timer in EVE,the tutorial barerly scratches the basics, feel free to ask questions to anyone aslong as they arent answered in the tutorial, you will usualy get a decent response. My suggestion is join a noob friendly corp,PVE or PVP or both and ask around what you can do ,group with people etc.Tho you can work your way up solo in EVE,you will never be able to soar to great heights alone, socialize etc. P.S Does EVE radio still play crap songs ? ... havent tuned in for almost 2 years ... when they were still playing Go Go ... |

Joining a player corp isnt always a good idea, take into account: 1.Their requirments,I seriously advise not joining 0.0 corps/alliances (based not working in 0.0 and stationed in empire/low sec),you will end up being cannon fodder and fleet battles do tend to get tedious sometimes. 2.They have active members in your time zone. 3.They have friendly and helpfull people. Personaly, when I started EVE,first I mined and did missions, after awhile ,I decided to start my life as a pirate, some success, some misfires, made quite afew enemys out of the people ive killed but surpringly made alot more friends ,either from the ones that went boom, the ones that popped me or the ones hunting around constellation for targets just like me. Key in EVE is to be smart and witty,if someone who blew you up starts gloating, just end it "Good job, maibe il have more luck next time" ... not "omfg nub,i pwn u wit super titan alt!",same goes around, you blow someone's ship up,be polite and witty. You WILL get alot of angry hate from some people but just ignore them, and never ever give in to the sob storys: "I dont have money for a new ship" or "that was my only ship" ,reply to them "Nr.1 Rule in EVE: never fly what you cant afford to replace". |

Estimating current number of players using server population
SWG Veteran Refuge « Star Wars Galaxies 9/21/08 5:24:31 PM
About 20000 people are still in SWG if we substract all the holograms that leaves us with 2 players,Obraik and the guy that is payed to watch the servers. |

IQ tests are pointless realy, even "unintelligent" people can pass with a high IQ because they arent "retarded". |
|

What would be the point of another server ? You get to start from scratch ?,and if there were a new server it could cause population imbalances between the 2 servers. Seriously,EVE is probably the only game that can support 40k+ people playing on a single server, and it can support 150 ship battles without major lag, unless you run absolutly everything on max on a bad rig. |

Good news, the next generation MMORPG is soon to be released, it's a little too hardcore though!

Soo they didnt have shiny signs at every turn and nice men holding your hand and cheer whenever you pressed a red button correctly ? Also the title is beyond misleading,I would question your inteligence, but I doubt you have any at all.. |

Err because it's poorly executed for starters,if you were forced to use specific combos in a sequence to kill each rider for exemple like in God Of War then it would be a different story. It's like your selling a very original super cheese sandwich and someone also decides to sell a super cheese sandwich but without the cheese. |

Well blizzard cant come up with some original ideas, the whole thing was ripped from God Of War... and it looks soo repetive and boring, sure the first 2-3 times it's fun but then it gets repetive. They should actualy bother working on original ideas rather then ripping off everything blatently and claiming it as their own. |

Youve got WoW to blame for the crappy MMOGs nowadays, apart from the few oddball MMOGs who try something different and succed (EVE,etc.) you will find a ton of WoW-style gameplay MMOGs with different themes. SWG was a great exemple of a good game,if they would have just fired the guys in charge of patch fixes (pre CU/NGE),it would be another succesfull game ,instead they kept their dumb devs and we kept getting nerfs instead of fixes. Basicly nowadays, games arent made by GAMERS,they are made by fat guys who like to stuff their butt full of cash, they try the same recipe wich worked for WoW and they fail ... and they fail again to realise why they fail. Because people wont realy want to eat the same chocolate bar that has a different wrapping from 100 different people, they will prefer to stick to the original. |

Soo what should we talk about if we arent allowed to talk about the game and what we think rocks and sucks atm ? I HATE CONSOLE GAMES!......WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS?
General Discussion « Star Trek Online 9/19/08 1:51:10 PM
Graphic wise consoles might be close to computers, but they are aeons away from their functionality complexity,no mods,no advanced gaming improvement programs, games end up being watered down to be sold, very few games actualy have some complexity left in them when they are build for the console. |

It's funny how all these kids have gotten used to HUGE REPETIVE GRIND FOR GEAR soo they can get EPIC GEAR wich = WIN,and they are afraid to loose it. Look at EVE,most of the time knowledge of your ship, surroundings and advantage of intelligence (info on enemys etc) >>> officer equip (most expensive equipment),and it isnt that hard to earn it if you know how. No one is going to force you in DF to wear your best gear, first play around, learn your build then gear up adequetly. I flew a thorax with a personal cheap fit (6mil in total) for 3 weeks and managed to take down other ships with realy expensive fits (+20mil) and then when I felt I grasped the full potential of the ship I equiped it with full T2. It's just like in RL,where no one is going to give a rookie pilot a state of the art brand new fighter to pilot,he has to work his way up,that's how it is with gear. |
