Does anyone know if these items have any use? Or are they things they get replaced later game by cooler stuff?

Do you think its worth it over the standard edition?

Basement dwelling script kiddies with no purpose. They "do it for the lulz" yet the only time anyone will be actually laughing is when these tools get caught and thrown in jail for a couple of years.

What big MMO "focused" on PvP and failed because of it? Off the top of my head Aion went big for PvP, but Aion failed because it was a sucky korean grindfest, not because it focused on pvp.

Every one I know reskins EQ and throws some shitty, halfbaked PvP afterthought. The games suck because they are unoriginal, not because of the PvP side show.

lol @ insulting EVE. It's the only MMO with actual longterm growth. Your MMO's with "charm" are shiny eq clones that sell big on launch then fade over the following few years.

MMOs were founded with PvP. UO, the first real MMO, was heavily PvP based. You just seem angry that there's other people in your "single player action RPG." Go player single player Bethesda games... seems to be more what you're looking for. But don't insult the genre and attack PvP as the reason MMOs suck right now.

I'm amazed at the apologists in this thread saying combat isn't a big deal.

You spent most of your gametime in combat, yet it doesn't matter? The mechanics in every video look piss poor and stale, and if this didn't have the Star Wars IP it would be brushed off as another shitty f2p wow clone.

The way the global cooldown has a clunky vertical fade, how everything seems sticky and clunky. It's poor, and there's no excuse for it. BioWare thinks they can slap Star Wars on the box front and focus everything on story. This game will sell like mad at first just because its "Star Wars," then fail when people realize they are playing a clunky KOTOR sequal with some instanced multiplayer.

I agree, its really a tragedy.

If it helps, there's a few that have housing that you may have missed. Runes of Magic and EQ2 have decent instaned housing. UO, SWG, Daoc have real housing. This month EVE is launching what could be considered a housing system... players are getting "captains quarters".

The difference is Mortal Online is a tech demo, and DF is more of a beta.

The problem with crafting in MMOs today is that it's a side feature, not an integral part of the game.

For crafting to be good, it needs to meaningful and required. Games like UO, SWG, EVE... crafting is integral... if you want items, they are crafted. Themeparks where everything comes from loot... crafting is just a sideshow gimmick.

Lineage has terrible PvP... watch a video on youtube for proof of that.

Darkfall has a huge assortment of PvE, I don't know why people assume it doesn't.

Darkfall is steadily growing in population.

I really wish they'd finally add more villages.

I wouldn't go that far. I have my issues with DarkFall too but aside from ForumFall and the Racial Alliance chat which is always messed up by the same 2-3 guys, the community was actually good.

How would he know that if was judging the community based solely on Forumfall and race alliance chat?

The people who make ignorant comments like that about Darkfall's community are most likely not the most social of gamers if you know what I mean.

Don't act like the community is amazing and everyone who says otherwise are ignorant trolls. Ever since launch tons have agreed that the community is shit. Don't be bitter just because I insulted your game. This game is so small in population and so viral, the ratio of forum users to players is huge compared to most box sales games. Just because you know a few cool people doesn't mean the community is amazing. Filtering out the thousands of forumfallers and RA chatters leaves... well just about nobody.

If anything, I'd warn new players against the shitty community of DF.

More than any other game, DF seems to attract the e-thugs. Even in this thread, Izure is the typical text-book Darkfall player... can't hold a conversation without calling names and acting hard about an internet game. Be prepared to hear laughable terms like "non factor" a lot in DF. I can't tell you how many times I've heard the phrase "I'll shit on you" in replace of "I'll kill you,"

Calling SL a game is like calling "the internet" a game.

Support games that have the mechanics you want. Stop running off and dropping 50 bucks on the new release you already know isn't going to have these features.

I play DAoC and I can't do sh*t alone. The game is alive and well on 10 servers. many people share this view but play it everyday rather then look back at it. Join them.
