Bump up, still need one or two more 80's (or someone that may want to level up and get geared in old content as well) to join us

PLEASE CONTACT US ON OUR FORUMS, not on MMORPG.com

We are a MATURE casual raiding guild. We are lacking only a few 80's to have some casual raid time that will start at NAXX and work our way up (many of us have cleared it already) and we will help get you gear if you feel you are not ready. PLAYER PERSONALITY BEFORE GEAR.

WE ARE CLOSED TO DK'S

We seek some off tanking and DPS. JUST NO DEATHKNIGHTS

We plan to raid probably Sunday nights or Monday nights for about 2-3 hours, nothing strenuous (we can vote on the night if you want)

up we go!

With the recent trend of many MMO's not being too much different than the one before it, our typical guild for <INSERT NEW MMO HERE> got tired of bouncing around in games and decided to make a gaming community out of the older, mature members we had in other MMO's.

At TITANS you will conversation about movies, TV, RTS games, shooters, turn based strategy games and even miniature gaming.

All we ask is that you are a mature player and want to hang out and game with other like minded people. We have a 40 man vent, guild chapters in several games, and people playing all sorts of PC and console games but we would like to add more to our little family.

I host the boards on what were once our Champions Online only Super Team forums but we have grown to be much more than that now.

If anyone is interested come on over and post a small note about the games you play, your history and let us know you need access and we will do our best to get you in. (right now our planned guilds are in CO and Aion)

Thanks a lot

Hudson

I started this topic over on Aion Source as well.

Not much we can do right now but sit back and hope NC Soft has better support for this game than Lineage 2 in this regard

You gotta pay for this you gotta pay for that, you used to get all those things with one nice little payment but not anymore!
The screenshots show xp potion lmao! thats the worst possible item shop item, another post says you can't even shop from regular NPC's lol you are all tools, enjoy you new "free" mmo I hope you all make turbine rich, they deserve it for being able to screw you all over and still have loyalty.

You have killed an ORC! You are out of loot tokens, please purchase more to loot this corpse.
Welcome to Fopir! Please enter your credit card information to enter this area
Congratulations! Your level has increased to 4! Please purchase a grade 4 level token to advance!
Tutorial: You need weapons and armor to fight, first go to the item shop and purchase a token of NPC bartering, then purchase a token of level 1 slashing weapons, then purchase a token of at least 1 inventory slot, then purchase a token of primary weapon slot, then visit the weapon vendor and purchase a weapon, you might notice that they suck, but good ones can be bought at the cash shop, now for armor..

<Mod Edit>

Are you even in the beta? No? Then how can you judge off a screenshot.

Man there are more idiots in here than in the WoW forums

I know for me personally there are many other games out there that actually produce more content that DDO ever did. Since when should I feel fortunate to play a game that's only added 10 levels in 3.5 years? Had I been a paid subscriber all that time it would have been well over $500 for every subscription. That's an insanely high price tag for a game where repeating quests over and over is the norm.

That is an idiotic statement. Do you even know how levels work in DDO? I don't think you do, perhaps actual research before you post that kind of garbage.

I think it is I just posted a huge blog post about it:

http://hudshideout.com/blog/

I think its even worth paying for until it goes free at this point

We have had so many responses we will have to make a Transition Legion on opening day to account for the fact that a level 1 legion is capped at 30 members. Details on this are on our message boards

Our boards had16 people online yesterday, and 747 Posts in 85 Topics by 32 Members already. Way to go everyone!

We have 4 married couples and are having a blast.

We are eastern and central time zone

We have led a raiding guild in wow and been officers in EQ1

We have PVP experience

Nice to have you aboard Renew. We are up to 22 members now we have something great going!

Cannot seem to make heads or tails of all the negative posts about the game in this forum or how certain people want it to be like or not.

I just want to point out a few things that a poster stated over on the beta boards that may put an end to the junk we are seeing put in this forum. As the co- leader of a new Legion (guild) in the game when it launches I am  a little concerned about some of the misinformation our applicants may bring up when they email us

I will simply cut and paste his post directly and people can make of it what they will

-------------------------------------------------

DISCLAIMER: Although the following may be in rant-form, there are points in here that NEED to be read by some of you. Regardless, I will be adding points as I see fit, this more of a rant in progress. Read at your own risk I suppose.

I have to begin by noting that we are testing 1.1 and that we are playing 2 patches behind what is supposed to be the retail version. Apparently many are unaware of this fact. Why? I have no idea, but my guess would be to contribute it to a lack of reading comprehension.

1. PvP. I have to assume that those complaining about it are not aware that the "real" PvP doesn't begin until the Abyss at level 25 and above, not to mention the random portals that pop approximately every 2 hours, allowing for some great, unexpected World PvP. Wait for it, it's coming.

On the other hand, we have people in here asking about PvE servers and zones. Obviously you have not been following this game for very long.

There is this amazing concept called PvPvE.

There is PvE, there are dungeons (though few) with more on the way. There is even PvE in the Abyss. Yes, you will have to PvP in the aforementioned PvE dungeons to compete for the Boss', just as PvPers will have to PvE to take Fortresses, etc.

This is a PvP-centric game. The PvP comes before the PvE in PvPvE. Get over it.

2. Arena. Yes, Arenas have always been FFA until WoW. In fact, for those of you who didn't play prior to TBC, WoW had an arena, and it' still there, outside of DM and *gasp* it's FFA.

3. Read around before posting your reviews. Everyone has the same CONS to post, and yet, these same CONS have been explained time and time again. For Example:

A) Chat System. READ PLEASE, IT'S A BUG AND CHANNELS ARE NOT IMPLEMENTED YET.

B) Auto-Loot: It already exists, IT'S ON YOUR BAR BY DEFAULT. I mean, WOW. Some of you have to learn to slow the **** down and read shit.

C) Yes, you can move the camera while running. Edit: By popular demand, Shift + Right Click

D) Oh I almost forgot, YES you CAN auto-run. Shhhh, it's Num Lock...

E) "The game is a WoW clone, but it doesn't do this this or this that WoW does, thus it SUCKS". Really? Go back to WoW then, you Blizzard fanboys contradict yourselves so much you can't keep up with your own complaints.

Of course you're going to get influences from other games. WoW did, and still does to this day. Believe it or not, Aion is not a "clone" of WoW, L2, FFXI, EQ or any other game.

Fun Fact: Most aren't even aware that Aion isn't the first to implement non-mounted flight. I could say that Aion is a copy of Perfect World, except with a subscription fee. Would I? No, because it isn't even close, despite using flight as a major game mechanic and selling point.

4. Class Customization, or lack there of. The answer: Stigmas, which I admit, I myself do not know much about at this point. You do a quest at level 20 and at this point are given your first Stigma stone, which you can remove and sell to other players. Although stones drop from all monsters, they are more rare on common monsters and more common drops on rare monsters. As you level, you unlock more Stigma slots.

http://aion.mmosite.com/guide/system_stigma.shtml

What I do know from reading around: They used to be used to add other class' abilities to your own. Due to balance issues this implementation was removed, and they are currently working on other ideas.

There is most likely more information on this subject floating around, but I have yet to find any as of yet. If anyone has info on how they work currently, I'd be happy to hear it, as I'm sure others would.

Below is an old, but excellent thread on stigmas, which is still going.

http://www.aionsource.com/forum/gene...ma-system.html

5. (Korean)Grindfest. No, Aion is not a grindfest. It's actually quite easy to level in this game. There are going to be points at which you can't solo quest the entire way. Get over it, this is how MMOs work. Believe it or not, being social is part of what makes an MMO an MMO, otherwise why not just go pay a 1-time fee for a console RPG and save yourself the monthly fees.

6. I have to say I'm pretty baffled by some of you who are complaining about the graphics. Seriously? I am not one for Conspiracy Theories, but it sure reminds me of the Warhammer forums prior to release, where they all cried about Propaganda posters being paid by Blizzard to come in and trash the game. Lol

Honestly, update your computer. This is not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of your hardware sucking.

7. Currency. OK, It is extremely easy to make Kinah in this game. Extremely. There should be no reason to cry about money sinks such as crafts.

Now, I understand and share the concern of some, in regards to Botters/Gold Farmers running rampant because of everything costing Kinah, but really, if money is this easy to make, do you really think it will promote it? Obviously it's inevitable, but I don't think it will be nearly as bad as some are anticipating.

8. Gameguard. It sucks, I know. It's here to stay, get over it.

9. "Whether you like to admit it or not, WoW is the most successful game in the genre, and the comparisons are not going to stop if you want to be on top". -

OK, here's the thing. I (and many) don't care, nor want, this game to top WoW. Historically, MMOs have been niche games, and I'm OK with that. I don't need 11 million subs to enjoy my experience; if anything, I have a much more enjoyable experience within smaller communities.

10. "Aion will fail". OK, let's do some simple math. First, this game is wildly popular already and still growing over in the Korea and China.

http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/985/985368p1.html

3.5 million subs and growing.

Regardless of how it does in NA/EU this game is ALREADY POPULAR whether you like it or not.

Now, let's say the game sees numbers over here comparable to 200-500k a few months after release. This is what we call a successful Niche game. Do the math 14.95(200,000) = 2,990,000/month from NA alone. It will be and already is successful.

11. Gear. OK, this isn't as prevalent among complaints, but I figure'd some would appreciate the info. I'm aware that for many, including myself, that the aesthetic feel to the gear can be important for immersion. Or, you just want to look badass. Either way, in Aion you are able to not only re-color your gear, but you can also transfer stats from one set of gear to another set of gear that you like the looks of.

If you weren't around for the first beta weekend, and you don't think the gear is all that sexy, just wait. Around 15-20 is when the gear starts looking more intricate.

12. Death Penalty. I'm not sure how I managed to overlook this. For all you complaining about death penalties you're just going to have to get used to it. The fact is that the majority of MMOs implement this. It gives a meaning to death. In all honesty, the death penalty in Aion isn't even that hardcore considering you can pay to get a percentage back. There will be no more kamikaze ports to town anymore without it costing you. Live with it.

13. Subscription Fees. I lightly touched on this earlier. I'm seeing more and more posts about how Aion should be free. Why? Aion is head and shoulders above any FTP MMO out there. Here's how you should look at it:

With subscription fees come support. It's worth it.

Subscription fees are not that much to begin with. Consider it the price of 1 movie and some popcorn per month . If you're already paying for 1 or 2 other MMOs, then you have to make a choice.

Now, in China/Korea they can use gamecard where they are only charged per time played, not monthly. Unfortunately, we will not see this option in the US and most likely not in EU. It might suck for you, because you could save a few dollars a month, but you'll just have to suck it up.

EU is more per month than US but less for the game up front. I don't know what to say about this, other than you got the short end of the stick. Sorry.

14. Flight Mechanics/Controls. I'm not sure I understand why people are complaining about this. Let's make this clear for the simple-minded who cant grasp this concept without having it spelled out for them. IF YOU COULD FLY EVERYWHERE AT ALL TIMES THEN YOU WOULD REACH AREAS YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO GO, FINISH QUESTS YOU SHOULDNT BE ABLE TO SOLO, AND BASICALLY BYPASS A ****LOAD OF CONTENT.

Note that you CAN glide everywhere. You may find it hard at first, but it's actually quite simple once you get the hang of it. Don't expect to pick it up and master it immediately. With practice you will find that gliding is easy and very helpful.

15. RP Servers. Let me be clear with this up front: I have No Problem with RPers whatsoever. There are no plans for RP Servers as of yet. This does not mean there will not be in the future, although I would not hold my breath. Here's the thing, You don't need an RP Server in order to roleplay. I understand alot of roleplayers prefer specific servers to keep others from making fun of them, or ruining immersion just to be a ****. All I can say is that I don't think you'll have that problem in Aion. If you do, call me a liar. My bad.

16. Bots. Since bots seem to be a major concern for some who played L2, I'd just like to add the following to my previous reference on the issue: CHINESE AION IS NOT RUN BY NCSOFT but rather a 3rd party company (Shandra?) whom is very lenient to the point that some may go so far as to say that they promote it. This will not be the case in NA:

Aion beta vids
General Discussion « Aion

I couldn’t sleep so for the first time in a while I loaded up FRAPS and started taking some in game movies of the Aion beta with my Priest Azmodius.

The first movie, up on YouTube and embedded here, is just a quick film showing the combat responsiveness in the game and how fast things go. No delay here and the interface is intuitive and easy to master. So in the combat video I made it short and sweet. I wanted to show the movement during combat, the spell casting and the looting, that was it. No long speeches here just a super quick look at how fast and well oiled it was.

Find that video here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXzATs9mS7c&feature=player_embedded

My next video is one showing gathering and how fast it was. Then I also show all the screens and the options for the interface. Gathering is fast and simple. While I am gathering I will show off the interface options and how fast it moves while you drag icons and place them where you want and how you can add additional quick bars. You can also set the POINT TO CLICK MOVE OFF thank God! You can of course adjust key mappings and several other standard features that make the game very customizable.

I also show how easy it is to modify the chat tabs and change the colors and filter the channels. A simple right click on the chat tab and you are there, no lag and quick and easy. You can also drag all your emotes out to the action bars and use them as well. They all have minimal voice and are well done.

Find the interface video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIUH9oJhFao&feature=player_embedded

TITANS OF THE OLD LORE
Povar Server: EQ1

If you have to start a new character do so in Crescent Reach. Levels are levels, come back and have fun

Our desired levels: 1-30 for now. Mainly we seek older mature players returning to EQ1 or EQ2. We are all starting over with a new guild that YOU can help level so you feel in tune with the process and have a sense of accomplishment.

Please read our charter to the bottom where you will be given a link to follow

Our Synopsis:

A casual guild that has just started out made out of older players who cannot power level and play too many hours a week.

What we are about:

We are a group of older gamers centered around EQ2. However we do not want a RAID CENTRIC environment in our MMO's and specialize in mature players that have real lives outside gaming.

We stress getting to know the game and exploring the world over speed leveling and power gaming. Our EQ1 chapter is especially concerned with this since we believe this game has a lot to offer if people take the time and do not play it like World of Warcraft. Read that carefully as we do NOT tolerate power gamers and anti social members.

We are led by former EQ1 raiders and players but we must stress that we are primarily NEW to the game despite having it for a long time. We made the mistake of not sticking with it and it is time to make ammends and fully explore the game the way it was meant to be played.

WHAT WE OFFER:

Organization. Mature players. Ventrilo open communication with channels devoted to games. Help in game and not power gaming. NON SPAMMING recruiting guild that will not promise one thing then not deliver. People that understand the EQ1 lore and love Norrath.

Many of us are new to the game or coming back after all the changes Shadow Odyssey brought so we are all learning. Our main focuses would be:

1) No drama whatsoever. This includes arguing about grouping, easily offended people that may take something out of context, or people that may tend to incite issues behind the backs of leadership rather than coming to us and discussing

2) Minimum age of 21, unless friend or family of a current member

3) Laid back atmosphere with people that will not rush to end game

4) If the future demands it, laid back "raid" times and no loot arguments due to mature discussion on the forums. Right now we are looking way down the road to be a Sunday night, Monday night type of end game guild. However that is so far away we are not really concerned with that.

5) Members that visit the forums and treat the guild as a community and not just another bunch of gamers they talk to once or twice a week. YES we want the roleplayers and the imaginative folk that will post fun topics and engage in conversation

6) We want members focused on this game and that will be active, but not hard core active. In fact we encourage alts.

7) We want people that will hang out in game and have fun. We want people that don't mind mentoring down and helping others

8 ) We want open discussion on this our policies. We have active officers and we need active members

9) We will use Ventrilo voice chat. (already have the server actually)

10) We will have message boards and a site that anyone can visit and discuss things with as well as the game and other games

OUR TYPICAL PLAY TIMES: Central Standard Time and Eastern Standard time, mostly weeknights and some weekends. usually we are on Monday through Wednesday and not Fridays or Saturdays

TITANS OF THE OLD LORE Antonia Bayle SERVER

we are closed and no longer recruiting
