AOC to me somewhat has improved and im playing it again. WOW I played for couple years so i cant complain too much about it.

That just doesn't make sense to me...how can an MMO have TOO MANY quests??

I have to agree. Most games these days are littered with quests so everyone ends up with the same gear and look. Back in the old EQ days you had to make your own adventure and didnt get shown where to go. Quests were for lore and maybe an odd item rather than for the same old, same old item.

I have to admit i stuck up for this game like a true fanboy. i am now level 61 and although i dont think the games bad..i admit to being bored with it and it becoming a tad tedious. So ye wait 6 months untill there is a lot more to do then maybe ill try again.

I know its slightly of topic but is there any game around now that comes close to the origonal eq up to velious? i mean harsh death pens, long levelling , grinding, camping and all of the things that made the game great? i long for those days back :( surely there is something close.

Yes if only FC devs etc could read posts like this and take note. No one would mind someone calmly telling them what they were doing wrong. They seem to be a little trigger happy when it comes to banning people, like a county judge taking a hard line sometimes, innocents always seem to take the kick for it.

Before AoC was released i read that the game would be based on skills more than items and that although there would be items to collect and upgrade that they wouldnt make much of a difference. Did something change in the production goals? because i see so many people complaining about itemization and wonder to myself if maybe players are expecting something else?

The stats dont change that much as you go up levels and you dont need to upgrade after 10 levels it's more choice. is this a design feature or broken? what is meant by Itemization?

Are you kidding? the reason i ask about age is because just look at your post? did you just ask me to leave it or was that me asking to leave it? yes there you are it was me. Who am i ridiculing? i have been attacked for my grammar..for mistaking a sig for an attack on me ( yes just a mistake) and then i asked why i m stupid..and all this is me ridiculing people?

To me it looks like just because there are a few of you think the whole forum is sticking up for you. I am sitting here at my PC calm as you like trying to work out what i have said that is so stupid and wondering why my opinions are reflected this way that's all, and in the end when i get frustrated too and ask about age suddenly i get a response like that lol. so please take your own advice and leave it.

Right..back on subject. As players we need to realise that we too along with FC and any other companys need to start to take a little responsibility ourselves. If we can see that we are exploiting we need to report the incident not take advantage of it. we can report it by telling devs that they have badly coded that area/aspect of the game. it doesn't matter how we do it just as long as we dont use it to our advantage, otherwise we are exploiting and can't complain when caught. i am not talking about every incedent as some of what FC have banned players for is ridiculous. but when we can see the obvious ones then we need to act too.

Grammer has nothing to do with intellegence. simple fact. so go on take another crack at it. come on surely someone can see my point. there is personal attacks just because theres nothing substantial to say. that's not what i call clever! i would say that is more stupid than the mistakes that i made or me misreading things. can i just ask the age of the people i am arguing with please?

DB your right when i read them back i can see what you mean. i think i'm just one of those who find it hard to put down what i mean in writing.

All i was trying to say was that while i can see FC has made so many mistakes and are responsible for so much...i think 90% of the exploit arguments are pointless. I mean nearly all of them are exploits and obvious ones. It's up to us as gamers to take some responsibility of our own too. Maybe i am too old or long in the tooth i dont know, but, if i see something not working right i say so..i dont just take advantage of it.

As for the real life thing. i just mean "calm down people, it's only a game and dont expect too much!"

Me too :) can't wait ..the last few days i have been really sold on the idea of war! hope it can live up to it.

And now people are getting banned by using legitimate way to get on higher terrain (As hyped and advertised galore by Gaute), because their whole AI engine is utterly FLAWED!

When I played back in may and june I could ran up against a hill till a dead point and range kill animals, without them following me and thus attacking me, because the AI was TOO stupid to even allow them to walk towards me on that hill (wich wasn't even steep). Meaning that if I would have done that today I would now been banned too

Funcom really has no clue and is now really trying to destroy their own game on an even worse rate!

Instead of trying to adress issues and FIX them, they just nerf other features to compensate or nerf them in general or as lately... EVEN WORSE trying to wave them off as exploits and start banning innocent people for it!

Way to go Funcom! Hope all other dev companies are watching this and learn from it!

You are 100% right it is no ones fault other than FC's but it still doesnt mean exploiting is allowed. By your own admission you used to take advantage of a badly coded area. you used the fact that mobs couldnt reach you. not that it slowed them down but that it actually stopped them reaching you. i know its not your fault but it is still an exploit and yes it is FC's fault and no one else's...just like the guy who leaves his keys in his car...dont mean i am allowed to steal it though :).

1. People should have common sense to know what's "allowed" in AOC

Please read my posts again and the ones above and then rethink what you are saying. i think you have jumped in head first a bbit there without even trying to understand :) if you still feel the same after reading again i will only be too happy to explain further what i meant to say.
 

Thing is friend your playing a game not going to war. ye a game that was totaly real would be different but this is Conan, it's  game set in a fantasy world. and in the real world if i sat on a wall firing arrows at someone i dont really think they would just stand there till they died.

I think FC's problem is that they expect us all to have common snese and be ble to see that if we are doing something in game with no consequences then it is probably not ment to be like that, or is an exploit.

But reality is gamers dont often exercise common snese and need to be told everything. So FC need to actually explain what a exploit is and put it in black and white!
