1 to 10 is about 3 hours

10 to 20 is about 15-20 hours

20 to 25 is about 2-3 hours per level, or 10-15 hours

25 to 30 is about 3-4 hours per level and keeps slowing down even more after that.

Basically, 1 to 25 is doable in one session if you can stay awake.

If you are a tank or a healer with bad gear, it will take you a bit longer.

After 20 it slows down with every level. 40-50 is very slow and will take more than a week even for most hardcore players. Casuals will take few months to reach to 50.

I'm looking forward to play this game, but I have no clue which class should I aim for. Haven't played in beta. Like the title suggests I like the hybrid type of classes. I like to keep my options open.

I like heals, crowd control, range damage the most, but more tactics / abilities are always welcome!

I was thinking maybe ranger, but do they have heals? are they viable?

Cleric.

Has Heals? Check!

Has Crowd Control? Check!

Ranged Damage? Check!

Always needed in a group? Check!

How important is this award?

It could be my ignorance that I've never heard of Gamescon, but panel of judges seems rather non-expert and kind of like random-dude-of-the-street type.

All three your statements are untrue. (1) Geographically, Lithuania is not not the center of Europe. That is to say that there are accounts that it is, but there are also plenty of accounts that say that it is not. (2) Linguistically, Lithuanians have an above average level of spoken English, whereas the Japanese are generally less apt at it. (3) Lithuanian is a European language. To say Lithuania is linguistically not part of Europe because they speak a European language is contradictory.

Lithuanian people SHOULD on those grounds primarily have access to the European servers rather than the Russian ones.

Your 3rd statement, using your own words is "untrue". While Lithuanian is recognized as one of official languages of European Union, having 23 languages "official" languages and being in Europe does not make it "European" language. There even no such thing, linguistically speaking.

It belongs to group of Baltic languages, which belong to Balto-Slavic group, which in turn belongs to much larger Indo-European group. Most of the Middle East and India belong to that language group.

Russian is in the same "European" group as Lithuanian, since it belongs to Balto-Slavic and Indo-European groups.

Other than that, I agree that it is rather silly of NCSoft to make Lithuanians play Aion localized for Russia.

Every time I am shopping for a new car, I ask myself: "Does this car, that I want to buy, bring anything new to the table?" And after spending several hours looking for 10 exhaust pipes and square wheels, I decide not to buy it. God damn it! Why can't they make a car with 5 square wheels instead of 4 round ones!?

How about this. Instead of playing the "most powerful" class, you try them all for a couple of levels and pick the one that is the most FUN to you?

Stop worrying about " the best" it is a subjective term. Besides, every class will get changed/nerfed/15 Minutes of Fame eventually. If you want to play a game based on how good it can make you look then you are wasting your time, you will never be satisfied.

Couple of levels? Seriously?

It takes 2-5 hours just to get to level 10 and then you need to get to at least level 13, which is another 3-5 hours, just to figure out how the class might be designed to play. I say "might be designed", because for some classes, like ranger, you will not fully understand class dynamics until much later in the game. So, take these 5-10 hours and multiply it by 8. Some people just don't have that kind of time.

As it was already mentioned, the mob was "evading", a.k.a. was in anti-cheat mode. In WAR when mob starts "disrupting" every hit is just means you found yet another bugged mob that thinks you are cheating. Usually moving away few feet fixes the mob. Wait till you see a dungeon boss that all of the sudden decides to heal up and "disrupt" everything.

Cool.  Thanks for the initial thoughts.

I may have to try out the free 10 days.

Any thoughts on a different game that's still pvp focused?

I've been hearing that Eve actually has some pvp potential.

I WANT TO PLAY EVE, but eveytime i open my account i fly around for a while then i think dam this is pointless. You really need a corperations that fits you in eve you can't solo it.

Get some ISK and spend at least 6 months training your skills in EVE, then you will find a good corporation and will have a blast.

Go Order. While classes are "similar", Order has more of  good abilities that are unique.

First class choice if obvious - Warrior Priest. They have decent dps for a healer and can solo a lot of PvE content. Their surviving ability under heavy fire is decent too.

For the second choice of class, I would pick a tank (Iron Breaker or KOTBS) or a Slayer if you like more dps. Tank is a better choice, because you will be able to guard your healer and two of you together will be very hard to kill.

Many are missing the major point here. OP is not talking about a beta version of the game. It is a retail/release version that's been out since last year. NCSoft has not been handling this problem for a long time and in Korean/Chinese release versions of the game bots and hacks are out in the open, as if they are not afraid at all.

no more "+0.00% immunity" ? :(

There are several points you are not considering when playing the Chinese version.

1. Chinese "release" version is the oldest of them all. It has less patches and content than the Korean version.

2. NA and EU version will have all that "missing" content, which includes MORE quests and MORE experience per quest, i.e. LESS grind.

So, eliminating the "grind" qq and ignoring "I don't want to level fast" qq, you really got nothing to stop me from liking the game so far.

wait so your saying its slow to level?

Re-read my post again if you still have that question. And if it still does not help, then "no, it is not slow to level, but it will be faster".

Not sure how to help you, but after you download, install, and run the NCSoft Launcher, you should see a window with all NCSoft games and options to Buy/Download them. Then you are supposed to "Download" AION (for free) and that will download and install the game, which you will not be able to log into until the Beta starts.

Maybe your installation of the Launcher got corrupted and you gave to do it again? Or maybe your internet connection went dead for few seconds and that affected the Launcher?

Depends what you mean by "supports". I highly doubt that there is any non-multi-billion-dollar software out there that is actually coded to utilize all available cores to the max efficiency - most seasoned programmers got no clue how to do it, since they never learned it 20 years ago. Having said that, on my quad-core I see all CPU at about the same level, but this workload distribution is done by the OS and not the software.

Think of the wings as your flying mount that you don't magically "summon" out of your tiny backpack. Same mechanics, but better immersion.

I have only leveled to mid teens, so can't say about the rest of the game, but I could enter all buildings that I saw. So far nothing ruined my immersion.

This is a tough one for me.  I hate paying for a game that I haven't been able to try, however of all of the mmo releases in the last couple of years, this one does seem the most promising.  I just don't know if I can get myself to put down that kind of money up front.

You can try it for free for 5 hours (per account) on Chinese servers right now. Google on how to set up the account and the game. I think aionsource.com and steparu.com have more info on the game.

I actually liked #6, but I maybe considering it in the same category as your #1. I think on a decently diverse server, you will see all kind of people, like in the real life; and while two different people might not look good next to each other, in a group of several people they will blend in effortlessly.

I do agree on the bots part and hope NCSoft does something about them in the Western version, since we are not as tolerant towards them as Asian players.
