You are stretching there buddy. back to the topic. Yeah if priest bails on you in MC that sux. But why are you in MC? Do you have to be there? No. If your group disbands (happens from time to time), you can just do something else. You are not FORCED to be there and get a group. Game is easy? Well, what is definition of easy? Is it the fact that you can level from 50 to 55 in 5 hours by constant quest/mob grinding? Sure, you can do that. But you dont have to. There are days when I level 5 levels in 1 day. There are times when i level 1 level in a week. Its called diversity. I dont know how your ignore list is full... are you anti-social or something? I played WoW since beta (on and off) and right now, my ignore list has max 5 people. The thing is, stupid people tend to leave the game, so you dont have to have them on ignore list. I even think your ignore list deletes names of the characters that were physically deleted. There is absolutely no reason why your ignore list should be maxed out (if thats even possible). If it is, well, don't blame anyone else but yourself. Im not calling your posts a flame (except for your immature stab of me being a "fanboi"). This is a place to exchange opinions and ideas. So if one person posts something what you post, others will post to agree or disagree. If 1 person agrees but 10 disagree, well, I guess your opinion is in minority. Not that its wrong, there is no right and wrong with opinions. But, if given enough facts, one can change his/hers opinion. Maybe you do not like a particular aspect of the game because you never considered something else that everyone is doing. You cannot possibly know everything. yes, I played EQ1, for a long time. And yeah, my heart trembled when I first played EQ1, it was FUN. You know why? Because it was NEW. There was nothing at the time that was anything like EQ1. I started with UO, but EQ1 was way better then UO. But, I changed my mind about EQ1. Why? Because it forced me to play THEIR game. Because I spent 5 hours LFGing in PoK. Because when I died due to lag, I lost hours and hours of experience. Because my real life comes first and I simply could not afford to spend hours in it to actually see my exp bar move a milimeter to the right. Is that what you called a "hard" game? Is that what you call "challenging"? If yes, then by that logic, you should cut your fingers off - that would make it even harder to play - more challenging! (No plz dont do that, its just to illustrate the point). The challenge, IMO, is NOT in hindering the player to achieve few things like EQ1 did. THe challenge is going into deadmines in a group full of level 15s and beating it. If you are good, you will beat it. If you suck, you wont beat it even at level 20. That is what challenge is all about. And NOT how long it takes to reach 80, because the goal of WoW is not to reach 80. You have been playing the game for all the wrong reasons.
PS: how does priest leaving MC raid differ from Cleric leaving EQ1 raid? The only difference, in WoW, it is easier to find a replacement AND if you cant find one, you can actually start soloing, you aren't finished with the game just because you are a warrior and you cannot solo like it is in EQ. PSPS: and please stay out of accusing someone of "fanboism" for the sole reason that that someone has a different view as yours. If you think my detailed posts aren't detailed enough to explain my point of view, then I will be glad to explain it in even greater details. If you didn't know, a fanboi is the person who is utterly devoted to something or someone and will defend that without much reason. A fan that stalks a movie star and will chew a chewing gum discarded by that star is a fanboi. A fan who likes movie star's movies because he/she is a good actor/actress is not a fanboi. |

Sure, some people are noobs and can leave your gruop in the middle of the dungeon run becuase they already got their loot they wanted. But I can say the same about any other game. Except in WoW, you do not realy on your group THAT much. Someone left your dungeon? No problem, get a replacement. No replacement? No problem, it usualy doesnt take 5 hours LFGing. Has it been 5 hours LFGing and no replacement? No problem, WoW does not force you to group, you arent locked out of 90% of the game content because your class is not very group oriented. You can go quest/solo grind while you wait. and maybe while osloing, you get an item that is even better then the one you wanted from the dungeon. Your definition of "challenged" differs from mine. For me, the fact that WoW gives me so many options of "doing things" does NOT make the game "easy" nor does it make me a sheep. In fact, your definition of "challenged" makes you the sheep - you are much more restricted in things you can do. Therefore, you are the sheep, you follow the 2 or 3 ways the game can be played. If my game gives me 10 ways to follow the path, while yours only 2 or 3, then I am 4-5 times less of a sheep then you are. And please, no more comments on the "bad community". If you dislike the chat, disable it or put the little kids on ignore list. If someone acts like a noob and it affects your gameplay, well, because WoW is so "easy" it shouldn't affect you at all now, should it? |

People that actually play EQ2 had a lot of good moments from DOF to this new expansion, can you explain why they are useless? If you dont play EQ2, it is pretty obvious they are useless to you, but in that case, your opinion without any rational argument is totally useless aswell. Shadow Odyssey in my point of view if much more impressive than ROK, it is good to see such a good MMO as EQ2 going into the right direction. ...
Actually the point of "x sells more copies then Y" is very much valid. I mean, what other objective way to define which product is better? Certainly not by asking someone like you who likes EQ2 or someone who hates it - their opinions would be biased. SO, the only objective way to define how good of a product is - how many people actualy play it. So, if 10 people play a game, I guess the game is crap. If new expansion does not bring in hordes of new and/or old players, well, then I guess it is mediocre at best, crap at the worst. Im sorry I had to break your bubble there buddy. While you and other people may enjoy EQ2 and may or may not consider it to be the messiah of the MMORPG genre, to the rest of the world it is just a mediocre product. Thinking that a few thousand of people's opinion outweight a million more is just irrational. Thought id point that flaw in your logic there. |

Only small companies cant afford to hire additional personnel, so they stack work and responcibilities on few people - and if one person screwes up, bad things can happen. Better clean up your act Blizz. I am very disappointed in them lately. |

For the most part, people played the beta and still bought into the hype, that is there own fault.
About your first sentence: are you saying that people should not sue if they get ripped? And intellectual property includes software. About your second sentence: Raltar is right, there was no beta, the thing we played was SOG, which was supposedly a game, a sort of pre-quel to D&L release. Some people realized that company that failed with SOG would most likely fail with D&L as well. But, some still believed. After all, the public promotion campaign used all legal and illegal tricks to get people interested in D&L. Remember the photoshopped screenshots? So I can't entirely blame people - they got duped. |

Oh, and was the suit about Pix being the author or about stolen intellectual property? |

A person who earns his/hers money hard doesn't let go that easily. In your case, you either: 1) are rich Neither option gives you the right to call out legit complaints as a whine. If you enjoyed the game enough to warrant spending money for 2 CEs, well, good for you. Other people spent their money and ware feeling cheated because they did not enjoy the game as you did. Everybody has the right to complain for something they spent money on. If the world was like you suggested, then there would be no CSR, no refunds and no returns. That would suck big time. |

What exactly does "The catch here is that success or failure in any given quest will actually effect the experience that you have". Oh and I partially agree with the person who said stay away for new people. Yes, the game has lots of ganking, its PvP oriented. As a pure PvE, i was basically locked out of all the good stuff in 0.4 and lower. Yeah you guys may be lucky and dont see any action, but when I jump in 0.4 and someone starts locking on to me, my heart just sinks in becuase i basically carry all my stuff with me. If i lose my ship, i bump back a week or two. I dont know how to fight, i dont know how to PvP and I can't join any decent corp because my hours are low and irregular (RL comes first). But, to be fair, you cant say new players should avoid this. New players who preffer PvE should avoid this. But if you dont mind PvP, this game will be for you. Too bad i dont like PvP, i really liked the graphics and the atmosphere of Eve. But, i will never resub again because of CCP dubious conduct regarding ghost training. |

That was the death blow for Sega, although it took them another decade of incompetent hardware releases to figure it out. So you "LOVED" the Saturn? All FIVE of the games released for it I take it? I can see why you like DnL so much. I guess medicority and failure are what you look for in a game. Oh, and then you go and bring SHADOWBANE into the debate. The second worst MMORPG ever made. You sure know how to pick em. You seem to be a big fan of communism. Need I remind you of Tibet? Or the USSR? Communism did wonders for those countries... I'm sure it will save DnL somehow... Next why don't you tell us about the theory of Time Cube and how it will bring Lennin back from the dead to conquer France and stop the corrupt Anti-DnL military industrial complex which is secretly conspiring aginst Vuuar?
Comrade, the greatest father of the revolution was called Lenin ( his name basically means he is Lena's. Lena is a female name. As in Samantha = Samantha's). death to capitalist swines! Rise up proletariats, rise up against the capitalism. Rise up workers and peasants of the world! Proletalirats, unite!!! |

to do otherwise would be hypocritical.
Thats actually a very good point. I will use it everytime a fanboi corp sucker screams "OMG about time ghost training was removed, gogo CCP!" |

Using outlook express or MS Outlook (and in some cases IE) is almost a guarantee on itself that you will get infected. People need to be educated on computer use. This overconfidence and illiteracy will cost them dearly.

Originally posted by Zanpt A very interesting paragraph here. Something that I completely missed before. One can legally argue that since only a paying customer can initiate a skill training, then that skill has been FULLY paid for till it is completed. Once your training is finished and assuming you havent resubscribed back, you cannot train another skill. Which is fair, you cannot train for something you have not paid for. But, If I paid for my skill to train, I expect it to be completed. I also agree 100% on the technical implementation. The way Eve trains its skill, it requires no "processing" abilities other then start the training, at which point server saves the start and finish date of the skill. Thats it. This monkey business that CCP is currently involved in may fire back with a class action sute for the reason of misadvertised (ghost training was advertised as a feature for 5 years) AND for contract breach (I paid for my skill to complete, regardless of the completion date). Im curious how this works out, ive seen much worse cases go to court. |

Conclusion: they canceled ghost training becuase they want the money. Whats wrong with that? nothing, unless you specifically mentioned that that part of the game was a feature for 5 freaking years! Imagine you ordering a good looking young redhead lady prositute called Samantha . You paid in advance becuase you've done this before - the service was always delivered in time and as advertised. You wait impatiently for her to arrive. You hear a door bell, you put up your best smile, you fix your shirt and check your breath. You go for the door, you open it. You see a bearded guy who speaks to you: "Hey baby, Im Samantha. Sorry. no refunds honey." With ghost training taken out of picture, Eve just turned from hot redhead into a bearded dude. Enjoy your dude, dude. |

The thing is, you are either a specialist, or you spend way too much time on WoW. WoW fits best for generalists, people who like to do many things. Right now, Im working on my level 66 hunter and herbalism. Tommorow, i will work on my priest and enchanting. The day after that on rogue and engineering, then on helloween event, then on something else. It doesnt take much time to master a particular aspect of the game if you only do that one thing. Thats why hardcore people or specialists like you burn out quickly. I played WoW since beta, and I usualy play for a month or two, then take a break. The longest period I played non-stop was half a year, and I once skipped WoW for 10 months. I have 7 characters, one of them is 66, 2 are 50+ rest are 20-30+ So when you say youve done it all, you actually done a very small (but focused) part of that "all". If you | |
